  1. Please be careful not to overdo it and push your recovery to the point of injuring yourself. Super glad that you are doing well (even though that is bad news for the bass in your area:o)

Get well first and then worry about your unfortunate run of bad luck, which is something we all go through at one time or another. Hope things start looking up for you ASAP!!!
  9. Jigs and drop shot rigs should work for Walleyes. They are an easy fish to spook so I've been told.
  10. I used to fish for carp all the time when I was a kid. They were usually the largest fish in the ponds I fished and often won via size and weight the fishing tournaments that were held around my home town. As many other guys have already mentioned, they DO put up a pretty good fight. I prefer NOT to fish for them now since the other species I go after are more challenging.

"What say you and I have one more drink and go down to the dock and cut that shark open!" - Chief Brody - "Jaws")

WELCOME to BR!! Isn't this forum just GREAT!!!
  20. Hooked_On_Bass pretty much summed it up: "For myself, it is a sport, a hobby, a passion and an addiction!" I'd like to second that statement!!
  21. A hearty welcome to both Nwfisher & Rick_T!! BR is the BEST bass fishing forum on the Net, IMO.
  22. WOW, a real "eye opener". I usually don't throw any of my used soft plastics overboard but as everyone does, I normally loose a couple to snags every once in awhile. Maybe someone should create a collection site/drop address for all used plastics that can be recycled and those sending the used baits would get a reduced price on new ones??
  23. Welcome to the best bass fishing forum on the Net, IMO! See how quick the great folks are to respond to questions that are asked. ALL the guys and gals on BR are eager to share their knowledge and expertise.
  24. Welcome to BR!! Not much I can add that hasn't already been said by the other members. I personally catch and release ALL the bass I catch BUT will keep and eat catfish, bluegills (on occasion) and am looking forward to catching and eating some Walleye when I get back to the Midwest later this year (supposedly one of, if not the best tasting of the fresh water fish so I've heard:o) As far as inline spinners, all I've ever caught on them is Northern Pike. I reel them in at various speeds and try to change the direction of the lure ever so often by sweeping the rod tip from side to side. Northerns will demolish a spinner when they're in a feeding frenzy mode. Large spinners are very effective for Musky too, but there's probably none in the pond you fish (IF there were, then there probably wouldn't be any other fish - "Musky: all other fish are just bait!"). Again, WELCOME to BR!!!
