I just cant catch bass
I T-rig mine weightless on a 3.0 offset Owner worm hook. I've also T-rigged them with a sliding bullet weight and even tried a splitshot about 18" from the hook. Wacky rig is another option either weightless or drop shot rigged. I use a circle hook when fishing them wacky rigged. The Wave Worms are just a Senko knockoff but lots of guys like them just as much as Senkos because they are priced a little lower. I have several packages of them but am sticking with the GY Senkos until I run out (and that may be a while since I bought about 10 packs:o) You might also want to consider some GY Fat Ikas. I've been throwing them weightless and rigged skirt up (backwards) on a 4.0 Owner offset worm hook as per RW's recommendation, but, alas, I haven't caught anything on them YET:o)

Nu Canoe - anyone know about these??
Marty and the rest of the guys: I am getting real excited about getting my 10' Nu Canoe!! My Boss is giving me a 12V trolling motor to use for propulsion to and from where I want to fish (of course I'll still have my carbon kayak paddle with me for positioning and emergencies if they arrise:o) I have been DROOLING over the Nu Canoe website the last 2 days. I have also emailed them twice already this morning and am waiting on a response for a couple of questions I had. One was the dimensions of the moveable seat. I think I can attach a flush or small riser swiveling mount to it and install a nice padded seat for comfort! I also am looking at the outrigger solution to making the boat ROCK SOLID stable for standing and moving around safely and comfortably. Heck, I am even considering buying one of those inflatable pontoon boats and attaching the pontoons to each side of the Nu Canoe. That should make it a great smallish fishing platform which can all be easily carried in my Ford Explorer Sport. I could also just buy a 2 tube float tube and use the pontoons off that. I am going to wait until I get the Nu Canoe and fish out of it before I go through all the hassle and expense of adding elaborate outriggers/stabilizers since it might not even need them. I have watched the videos on their website and the boats DO APPEAR to be very stable and easily paddled or pushed around with a trolling motor. I doubt I'll get mine by this weekend but should have it one day next week:o) The carrying capacity for the 10' is 450 pounds!! Now I need to do some trolling motor battery research. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure what kind of trolling motor the Boss is giving me but he said he only used it to power a rubber raft a few times and used a tractor battery to do it. PS: if that cutout lower section that is seen in the bottom of the Nu Canoe is as wide as I'm guessing, I'll be able to stand there easily since I wear a size 7 shoe:o)

I just cant catch bass
Around the So CA area, the watermelon w/red or black flakes has worked great for me so far this year. I think they're all good depending on the water clarity and what the fish are wanting to eat any given day (based on a lot of factors). IMO:o)

Heading out to Otay on my new kayak
Yep: www.nucanoe.com I just ordered a 10' Nu Canoe Recreation model in Camo Brown. After I get it and use it I'll post a review. Please read the other Nu Canoe posts. I got mine for $735.00 delivered to a nearby freight terminal. IF you decide to get one, PM me and I'll send you contact info for the seller I bought mine from. I can't wait to get it. I bought the "bare bones" Rec model because I intend to keep the deluxe seat and Werner carbon paddle when I sell the Mini-X (there's a guy who I'm pretty sure will buy it right away since he wanted it without the paddle and seat which the lady I bought it from thought was lost but she found it the morning I went to pick the Mini up!).

Nu Canoe - anyone know about these??
Yep, I liked the Water Bike too. Too bad it's so expensive:o( I just ordered and paid for a 10' Nu Canoe. I think it's going to be way better for fishing than the Mini-X since it's 42" wide and in the videos it appears to be VERY stable with lots of room to stand up. I may or may not order outriggers for it.

Golf
I love to play Golf but not as much as I love fishing. Golf is so dang expensive around here in So CA. Green fees can be big bucks at some of the courses. Haven't played in over 5 years and don't miss it all that much.

Heading out to Otay on my new kayak
Bass-Brat: I am seriously thinking about one of the 10' versions of a Nu Canoe. It's 42" wide and appears to have plenty of space and stability. I am waiting on a response from the guy who sells the 12 version on Ebay. The 10' version only weighs about 10 pounds more than the Mini-X and I MIGHT be able to still get one COMPLETELY inside my Ford Explorer Sport and be able to lock up the truck (something I really liked with the 9'3" Mini-X!). I'll keep you informed as I hear anything. I would have NO trouble selling my Mini-X since the girl who sold it to me said she had a guy who wanted it without the $400 paddle if I didn't buy everything! NOTE: I errored when I said the 10' Nu Canoe only weighs 10 pounds more than my Mini-X. It actually weighs 25 pounds more. The seller contacted me with a price plus shipping and I made him an offer and I am waiting to see if he accepts it ($100 difference in price). IF he does, I'm going to buy one today. They appear VERY stable AND to have plenty of standing room in them whereas the Mini-X doesn't. It also appears that if I were to add outriggers, the Nu Canoe would be nearly impossible to capsize.

When you see a roadsign like this - drive carefully.
Micro: that sign looks similar to Aboriginal cave paintings. Is that where they got the symbols??

My 1st Job Interview
BEST of luck to you Dean. Just relax and be yourself. Nothing turns off an interviewer more than trying to be something you're not. Sure hope you get the position you want!!! As the others have already said, being polite and well groomed goes a LONG way when making first impressions.

bowling
"Bowling for Burgers" was one of my favorite shows on UHF. Seriously though, I used to bowl on work leagues all the time. Tons of fun and decent exercise to boot. Earl Anthony and Mark Roth were my favorites to watch on Saturday afternoon TV, along with Johnny Petraglia.

I love my wife!

It's 3:10 a.m
Way back when the 3 Stooges were hilarious and they STILL are to this day, IMO! Too bad they got screwed over by the studio they worked for. Catch one of the specials made about that fact when you get a chance. It's a real eye opener! Those guys made VERY little money for all the shorts and feature length movies they made. I think it is sad they were treated like that. IMO.

How can ESPN
The BIRDman made it. This Hoosier is HAPPY! Pete was one heck of a player but the competition is so tough at the top that deciding who's #1 can end up being subjective. IMO.

Heading out to Otay on my new kayak
Thanks, basspaddler!! Well, here's the report: NO FISH:o( I had a couple of good strikes but failed to hook up with anything. Now for the Mini-X kayak. It is OK IF you don't want to stand and fish. I was in mine for 6 hours yesterday. I got all wet and sat in water for the entire day (this can possibly be attributed to my not paddling correctly and splashing water all over the place early in the AM). I also kept sliding down in the seat, but again, I may not have had it properly rigged in place. The little Yak DID allow me to get out there and fish comfortably other than that. Accessing my tackle bag which was behind me was a real pain. I had to twist around until I was kneeling on the seat to get to it then my legs got wet again. The Mini-X was EASY to paddle across the lake BUT was affected by even a slight breeze as most lightweight boats are. For the money, I got mine from a girl who had only used it 4 times and it was all rigged for fishing and she had a $400 Werner Carbon paddle as well, and I paid $500 for everything (the base Mini-X costs $500 alone without the additional storage hatches, rod holders, etc.) so I am not disappointed. HOWEVER, I am going to find something else that I can manage that WILL allow me to stand up!! After 6 hours of sitting down and squirming around I could hardly get out of the Mini-X when I got it to my takeout spot. In fact, I rolled out of it into the water on my knees. Musta been humorous to the others in the area, but wet legs and feet are NOT my idea of a way to end a day fishing (besides my butt was soaked as it had been all day). Going to the bathroom sitting down and being so low was a real pain too!!

Nu Canoe - anyone know about these??
Well, I bought and used a Malibu Mini-X kayak last weekend and it was OK, but not nearly enough room OR stable enough to stand in. I'd say that even if I put outriggers on it, it's just not wide enough for standing fishing. I found the Nu Canoe site and was wondering if anyone has one of the 10 or 12 foot versions?? IF so, how stable are they?? They look like they would "fit the bill" for a solo fisherman who wanted a lite kayak type boat that's fairly spacious and stable! Thanks guys!! PS: I also got real wet in the Mini-X and literally had to sit on a water soaked seat all day.

Heading out to Otay on my new kayak
I bought a Malibu Mini-X kayak that is fully rigged out for fishing yesterday and am heading out to Lower Otay lake in quest of that big un that I know is there. Gotta try to stay up with those No CA guys in the BR fishing tourney:o) Never been on a kayak before, but I think it's gonna be OK. I may have to rig up some outriggers if it's not stable enough to stand in. Let you all know tomorrow. And, YES, I have a PFD that will be worn at all times even though I plan to stay close to shore in the tullies where I've had all my luck so far this year.
