Hello from the new guy
Welcome to BR - the BEST bass fishing forum on the Net, IMO:o) Interestingly enough, I am currently searching for my first bass boat too. I've owned several sailboats up to a 30' Catalina, but they wouldn't do well on the lakes around here:o) I have my eye on a couple Bass Trackers, a Champion, and a Ranger right now. Just gotta bite the big one and let the Bait Monkey have his evil way with me on that!!) BR is one Fantastic Forum as you'll rapidly find out.

Help - CALIF regs/restrictions on 2 stroke outboards???
MANY thanks, my friend. I searched the Net and couldn't find anything like what you found for me!! I see that 2 strokes ARE legal on most CA lakes and resevoirs....at least the ones I fish on!

Do you "hop a fence" to fish?
I did that years ago when I was a kid and happened upon a farm pond that was secluded and I KNEW there were big fish in there for ME to catch. I just couldn't stand it and would hop a fence or even 2 to get at that prime body of water. Would I do it now?? NO WAY. I would seek out and ask permission first. Never did get "run out of or off of" anyone's land way back then. Lucky I guess:o)

Most informitive PRO or SHOW......your opinion?
I agree with the other guys: Bass Pros and Lindner's Angling Edge are my favorites. Along with Bass Edge and the posts on BR, there's a wealth of information/knowledge to learn from. I particularly like the Fishing in 4 (minutes) segment of Bass Pros. IMO:o)

HELP!! Need overall dimensions on boat/motor/trailer!
OK, all my great BR members/friends - I am in search of a Bass Tracker aluminum bass boat that will fit entirely inside my garage which is the standard 20' depth. Would one of you fine folks who has a 16' or 17' Bass Tracker please let me know the length of the entire trailer/boat/motor from the tip of the trailer tounge to the back of the motor AND the width of the trailer?? I really need something that will fit inside my garage. THANKS!!! PS: the boat/trailer will have to fit on one side of the garage since my Hemi Bee is still taking up the other side:o)

New Boat Today
Congratulations on the new boat!! My wife told me the other night that I could get me a nice used bass boat IF I'd not retire and stay at work for a few more years. I'm considering it IF my new Nu Canoe doesn't work out for me.

I WON
I'd recomend one of those extendable handle paddles as A BACKUP in case you loose your main paddle in a tipover or other unforeseen accident. Be SURE to lanyard the backup to the canoe. Without a paddle, you are literally "up the creek" if you drop or loose your primary one. Canoes can be very tippy. BE CAREFUL. Remember that you'll have to paddle a couple of strokes on one side and then switch over to the other side. Feathering the paddle blade on the return stroke (when the paddle is coming forward) is kinda tricky at first but almost imperative if you don't want to wear yourself out real quick. Also, the paddling stroke is more of a downward and pull to the rear as you keep the paddle blade dug into the water and the paddle shaft real close to the side of the canoe on which you're paddling. That's about all I can remember from the fantastic canoe trips I went on way back in 1966-67 during High School. Lanyard everything to the canoe that you don't want to loose. PRACTICE getting into the canoe in some shallow water. ALWAYS WEAR A PFD and practice re-entering the canoe with it ON! You may want to contact some local canoe experts for some quick lessons in canoeing and safety practices. Congratulation on your WIN!!!

Okeechobee Fats 1200 tackle bag
I have the big green Okeechobee Fats and now that I'm fishing out of my Nu Canoe, I went to Walmart on Tuesday and bought the smaller red one. I kinda wasted some $$$s on the Plano System bag that I bought at Big 5 a week ago because the red Okeechobee Fats blows it outta the water for space AND price. I love both of my Fats bags!!

Tiger Woods: Best athlete ever.
I really like to watch Tiger Woods play golf. When he's on his game, everyone else is playing for second place. His physical condition clearly shows that he is athletic and he undoubtedly will go down in history as the greatest golfer of all time, BUT I don't consider him to be the greatest athlete of all time by any means. Jim Thorpe, Jim Brown, Babe Ruth, Lance Armstrong, Ali, Kareem, Wilt Chamberlan, Eddie Merx, Carl Lewis, and a whole lot of other phenomenal athletes vie for that title and a case can be made for each and every one of them to be considered the best of all time. Just my thoughts on the subject.

Baby arrived!!!! w/pics
Congratulations!!! Now you have another member of your family to say "I LOVE YOU" to every day:o)

Message board newbie!!
IMO - ONE! Anyone who contributes to BR forums is NO NEWBIE as far as I'm concerned. They are an intricate member of this forum's community. The labels like "Message Board Newbie" that depict post count are pure semantics. And double ditto to what the other guys said!
