  1. The classic rock band I played in here in Diego used to play "Crazy" by Patsy Cline and every time we played it the crowd would just go nuts (I'd have said crazy but that was too much of a pun since I really like Patsy Cline). I just think Patsy had one of, if not THE most beautiful singing voices I have ever heard. I don't really consider John Denver a country singer. I think he was more of a balladier but I like most of his songs. Johnny Cash is one of my all time favorites as well. "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by Charlie Daniels ranks up there real high on my all time favorite songs list too.
  2. Try the classifieds of your local newspapers and Boat Trader (on-line). I too am looking for a used boat and Craig's List has the best offerings in my area so far. GOOD LUCK. Shouldn't be too hard to find the boat you're looking for in your area.
  3. The old guy should have taken the knife and given it back to the punk as a suppository!! IMO!
  4. Steven Segal. He is one guy who in actuality KNOWS all the martial arts stuff that he portrays in his films. Chuck Norris was not a full contact fighter in his younger years if I recollect right. He was a "points fighter" whereas Segal practices Akido and in reality could probably "mop the floor" with almost anyone. Didn't he "call out" Jean Claude Van d**n on a talk show once? I heard he called him a "sissy" or something like that? Bruce Lee was another martial artist who was the REAL THING. That is a well know fact. IMO:o)
  5. Some things are best left alone. Classic B&W TV programs like the ones already mentioned are a fine example of that. I've seen many of the movies that were computer "colorized" and they almost all LOST something in the transition. Just my thoughts on the subject.
  6. A hearty WELCOME to the BR forums - the BEST bass fishing site on the Net, IMO and a fact that I'm sure your husband CJ has already affirmed to you many times over!
  7. THANKS, Al!!!! We're all praying for your and every other brave serviceman/woman's safe return!! I do it every day! My son affirmed what you said the whole time he was over there. GOD BLESS all you wonderful guys and gals!!!
  8. Check out the NuCanoe!!! www.nucanoe.com I have one and it is great but alas, my wife wants me to get a real bass boat and I'm done arguing with her about that (she WON and so did I:o) I built outriggers/stabilizers for mine and it is now extremely stable!! I fished in it for 7 hours last Saturday and standing to fish is no problem. There is a ton of room in the boat too!! I'm going to be selling mine to make room in the garage for my new/used bass boat and trailer. You might also want to check out the kayak fishing stuff website. My NuCanoe is the 10' Rec version in brown camo and is easily loaded and transported in my Ford Explorer Sport 2 door (it doesn't quite fit totally inside but I just strap down the rear hatch over the approximately one foot that sticks out the back). Just another option for you to consider.
  9. WELCOME to the BR Forums blogger777!!! Isn't this site "the cat's whiskers"??)
  10. I personally love fishing in a nice warm Spring rain (and Summer rains). Some of the best fishin' I've ever done has been in the rain. PS: GREAT AVATAR Americangirl!!!
  11. Cigs and brewskis. Both BAD for me I know. Geez, my bottle is EMPTY. Better get me another before the DT's arrive:o)
  12. Congrats!! Here it comes: "The Curse of the Bait Monkey" .....AGAIN!!!
  13. Whoa..... there are a LOT of TALENTED guys and gals on BR!!! Outstanding job on the painting and an avatar that is most definitely your's and your's alone! GREAT JOB!!!
  14. War protestors are usually COWARDS who haven't the GUTS to fight for any reason (including those who FLEE the US to evade serving in the Armed Forces - are you listening Bill Clinton??). Sorry but that's MY OPINION and after serving 3 tours in Vietnam I feel that I'm entitled to it!!! PS: my oldest son also served a 16 month stint as a HumVee turret gunner MP protecting convoys in Iraq and I'm PROUD as he** of him!!! Not venting...just the truth as far as I'm concerned. What would I do? Honor the ONE who has laid his life down for this country and turn my back on the protesters who did the same to this country. NUFF said.
  15. Welcome to the BR family/forum - the BEST you'll find on the Net, IMO!! Inflatables are great if that's all you can afford at present. I've used them in the past with no problems. Steer away from the cheapo Walmart/K-Mart stuff and get a nicer, more durable one if you can. Save up your $$$s for a nice polyurethane or alumium boat while you catch fish from an inflatable. ALWAYS wear a PFD, irregardless of what you buy!!! IMO:o) PS: you can also buy yourself a little 1 1/2 pound anchor and about 100 feet of poly rope to help with wind problems!
  16. Welcome to the BR forums!! I'd guestimate in your area for a used 14 foot JB: anywhere from $300 - $500.00. That will probably also include a trailer in some cases.
  17. Congratulations!! Sure hope that guy accepts the offer I made on a FG 16' TF Bass Tracker w/90 hp Evinrude and trailer today.
  18. A hearty WELCOME to the BR Forums - the BEST bass and just plain fishing site on the Net, IMO:o) As you can already see, there are MANY great guys and gals who will eagerly answer all your questions. What exactly are you going to be fishing for?? Crappie, BGills, Cats, Bass?? You seem well on your way to being outtfitted. IF your going after bass, I'd recommend several medium sized Jitterbugs and Hula Poppers for a simplistic way to get some topwater action. For Crappie and BGill you might try smaller Popper Bugs for some topwater strikes. As already mentioned by the other guys, JIGS and various trailers are great producers for all species. Get yourself some good 8 - 10 lb mono or hybrid line like Yo-Zuri (which I swear by and use) and have some FUN. You WILL CATCH fish if you stick to all the great advice already given. Read as many of the Beginners articles as you can here on BR. They are all loaded with great info and tips.
  19. Congratulations!! I too started having decent success with jigs just this year. Now I want to throw 'em all the time:o)
  20. Kickbacks! It's all about 'dem kickbacks and don't think you have to be a POLITICIAN to get 'em either. IMO.
  21. Psychobabble. People are who they are and if someone wants to project an image/persona of themselves that is either accurate or 180 degrees opposite of what/who they are in actuality, then that's what they should be allowed to do. Glenn and the other Mods do a great job of "nipping things in the bud" on posts that veer towards blatant hostility between BR forum members and I've seen VERY, VERY few posts that would qualify for those actions anyway, IMO. I don't think REAL d-bags can co-exist in a forum like BR without being ostracized by the other members in due time. Just my thoughts. Fraiser has left the building:o)
  22. I'll never tell:o)
  23. My thoughts and prayers are with them!! With great family to support them, they'll get through this tragic situation OK. Thank the Lord that noone was hurt!!!
  24. Muddy - ???? I would NEVER "come at" any great BR member with ANY hostility, especially one as revered as you!! Oh, I may "poke fun" at a humous comment made by someone and directed at me personally, BUT I never take offense at any of those!! Your calling me Spinach Breath is FUNNY as far as I'm concerned and totally applicable:o) I loves me spinach:o)
  25. I'd say it's of more importance to fly fishermen. IMO:o)
