Toyko Tony wrote: "A gorilla could hurl his turd through the air, and if we only see the blur of the turd and not the gorilla, it's a UFO" Wouldn't that be an Unidentified Flung Object?? Ahgagagagagaga!
  2. Never. I always expect to catch something even though sometimes I don't. Several times this year the fish were trying but I failed on the hooksets. My fault.
  3. Rekindle my love of fishing.
  4. You might also want to consider a small motorcycle or ATV/Snowmobile trailer and just bolt on a piece of plywood to strap your jon boat to. Very lightweight and easy to tow with almost anything. Just a thought.
  5. Lower Otay is a personal favorite of mine (of course living only 15 minutes away in the Imperial Beach area helps). It's EASY to get to. IF you'd like to fish there, just let me know and I'll send directions. Heck, maybe we can hook up and go out either splitting a rental or on my bass boat if I've got one by then (and I expect I will have:o)
  6. WELCOME to the BR forums!! Don't forget the San Diego area. We're not all that far from you and we have numerous lakes around here that are reportedly holding the next World Record bass (at least that's what I've heard time and time again:o) Hodges, Lower Otay, San Vicente, El Capitan just to name a few.
  7. OK, all you So CA guys and gals: as you probably already know from a previous post of mine, I'm looking to buy a nice used FG bass boat in the 16 - 17 foot range. Nothing too old and the whole package boat/trailer/motor MUST fit completely into my garage (one side of it until I sell the HemiBee). I have been scouring ALL the Craig's Lists in So CA and nearby Arizona several times a day. I currently am anxiously awaiting word on Stratos over in Yuma that might already be sold. I missed a NICE Champion by one week here locally. I know there must be some boats out there for sale in the area that are not being advertised and I just wanted to ask you all a FAVOR and that's to keep your eyes and ears open for anything that might interest me. I have around $6K to play around with but would like to stay in the $5K range if possible. I've been looking at Nitros, Champions, Stratos, and Bass Trackers in the 1994 - 1999 year range. Should I luck out and get that Stratos over in Yuma or any other boat, I'll let ya'll know. THANKS a million for the help!!
  8. Should be an easy fix. FG is much easier to work with/repair than most folks think. I'd recommend going to a local marine supply store/marina or even an auto supply like Autozone/Kragens and getting a repair kit. Just make sure the resin is mixed according to instructions and that you squeege all the air bubbles out of the glass patch AND let the resin completely cure. The surface you want to patch will most likely need to be sanded beforehand and make sure that it is VERY clean and free of any oils before actual patching. You also need to make sure that the patch is the same thickness or even thicker than the original FG material for strength purposes. IMO.

My sister has! I used to go out for walks in the country at night in Indiana when I was a teenager hoping to see a UFO or possibly even make contact with aliens. Don't laugh. There are MANY who think like I do and they're not all in institutions:o)
  10. Hopefully ALL those BAD feelings will disappear once you're out there fishing in the upcoming tourney!!! Winter depression/blues???
  11. Welcome to the BR Forums fishmastersunv!!! Thread question: I totally agree - DO NOT tow that beautiful new Ranger with a Tauras!! You'd probably be better off towing the Tauras with the Ranger, IMO:o) Try to get a used truck that is still within your price range or possibly have a fishing buddy/friend tow it for you. It shouldn't be too hard to find a few if you don't already have one or two, especially with a boat like that to fish on:o)
  12. A hearty WELCOME to the BR Forums and I think it's AWESOME that you're here!!! Some of us can use ALL the venerable help and guidance we can get:o)
  13. SUPERB and THANK YOU for your services!!!
  14. Where are the "bridge jumpers" when you need 'em?? NO bungee jumping off that one I suppose:o)
  15. Eyes RIGHT!! Ahgagagaga!!!
  16. First off: WELCOME to BR - the BEST bass fishing forum on the Net, IMO! Now to answer your poser - go to the kayak fishing stuff forums and there you'll find multitudes of pictures and advice on how to outfit your kayak: http://kfs.infopop.cc/groupee/forums This website is absolutely fantastic for anyone who wants to fish from a kayak or similar craft. Hope this helps you out! PS: just click on PICTURES at the top of the page and you'll find a ton of them to use to develop your own ideas.
  17. The heck with it. My WIFE wins and so do I, I guess. I'm getting me a REAL bass boat even if I do have to put off retirement for a few months to pay her back for it!! Now I can't afford a $50K Ranger unless I get the right 6 numbers real soon, but I can afford a NICE used fiberglass Champion, Stratos, or something similar. In fact, I may be making several offers on a couple in the local area tonight. Just have to make room in the garage for one! Looks like I'll be selling my near new NuCanoe that I've only used once soon! Bait/Boat Monkey abomination has been chewing on my a** along with mi esposa for the last couple of weeks about this issue. Uncle, Uncle, Uncle!!! "The horror, the horror!"
  18. Glad to hear that neither she nor you were seriously injured. Those kinds of things happen from time to time. Dogs act much like little kids in that their curiosity can sometimes get them into real trouble and I find that you've got to keep an eye on them ALL the time. Beautiful dog you have!!!
  19. With all the horrible weather the Midwest is having I thought you were talking about real rain. Hope things get better soon as far as that is concerned for all you folks back there!! Ah, BOAT = B..ring O..ver A..nother T..housand:o) Another Definition: BOAT, noun, a big hole in the water that you continually throw money into and never see again. All humor aside, without our boats we wouldn't be able to get to where the really nice fish are. IMO.
  20. Welcome to BR - the BEST bass fishing forum on the Net, IMO:o) I sent you a PM (Private Message).

Question with NO IMPLICATION meant: has your little brother and/or his friend EVER mistreated or teased your dog in any way?? I am absolutely NOT accusing here, just asking a question. Sometimes dogs have an incident like that instilled into their brains and get very defensive of themselves around someone who has done something to them in the past. Just a thought.

Ric Flair - saw him wrestle here in San Diego years ago when I took my daughters who loved to watch all the Wrestlemanias on Thanksgiving Day. WOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  23. Take care GitRDoneIke54. That post count is rising exponetially (again)) Ahgagagagaga!!! Alias: Spinach Breath (thanks Muddy:o)
  24. I see ABSOLUTELY no reason for you to do that!! EVERY post I've personally read of your's is completely legit and either brought a SMILE or chuckle to me or informed me of something I didn't know or forgot (senility is a horrible thing:o) I also LIKE your BR ID of GitRDone23!! Larry the Cable Guy is one of the funniest comedians around. Please don't let what others think upset you. Maybe post count should be rendered invisible and only when you reach a certain benchmark number of posts would your BR forum status change and then be displayed below your name IF that really matters to anyone. I just enjoy reading all the posts that interest me and contributing what I can in a positive vein or sometimes commenting with a humorous reply that I hope will be taken as such! Sometimes my sarcastic humor can rub someone the wrong way and that certainly is NOT intended by ANY MEANS!! Dang, I really enjoy being a small part of the BR forum!!!
  25. VibraBat!! Ahgagagaga!! Just kidding. I've developed a real liking and confidence in Senkos and jigs with 4" tubes as of late and am trying to prove RW correct about Fat Ikas (haven't had any success with them YET:o)
