Read you're post again and I have a imx spinning rod 783, and the steez i wan't to go half and half with my dad for the new high speed baitcaster. I don't buy the gear you see my dad loves fishing as much as I do , I actually buy most of the tackle (believe it or not).

I'd have to say gammies are sharper than owner, but owner may have a better cutting point and they are stronger which really matters when you're flipping and pitching heavy cover. I mostly use ewg 4/0 the most but keep a stock of 2/0 3/0 5/0 mostly gammies but from now on i'm buying owner can't go wrong with any. I only bought a lot of gamaKatsu ( I hate when people say gatsu ) because they were available. I feel strength is key as i only fish braid and once i awhile co-polymer, if you use a superline with no stretch you hook sets will be solid and as long as the hook point is not flat it's going in. As well with high pound braid 50lb Ex. you can actually straighten out some hooks vmc david fritts comes to mind. Cliff notes: Buy a variety of hooks in ewg 2/0 3/0 a lot of 4/0 and 5/0 Make sure they are strong ( don't skimp on hooks ) Owner and gammakatsu are a great choice as well and vmc extra heavy hooks my flipping hook of choice.

I like owners and gamakatsu. Buy a variety of 2/0 3/0 4/0 and 5/0 mostly 4/0 is all you need for a majority of plastics.
  9. Hey man who else got the baits! you making me feel bad here j/k, but i have been experimenting with the ragetail shad for well since fishing season opened. No luck yet, but i will continue to fish them.
  10. I will be getting one ( i wish ) high speed steez on the flipping stick.

  12. X a million i found that the bronze gammies were shar0p so were vmc, but owner made the best trebles.

  20. Daiwa steez nuff said in that price range something daiwa like zillions and fuegos. Out of that lot i would love to try the new quantum's and curado other than that what people say about the new reels a pure speculations for all we know the new curados could be absolutely garbage.
  21. For most plastics a srj 844 would do you fine! or is it sjr?
  22. LOL think about that at that price how good can it be that's like saying nothing from shimano's bad even their 15 dollars combos that break in a year?
