  1. Hey guys, that Sexy Shad color is the real deal. We will have the hot new color called Chartreuse Sexy Shad soon. KVD won an event recently with the proto type. We have a client who reported hot action this weekend on one we got to him. He fished stained water with the regular color with no luck and then put the Chartreuse color on proceed to whack em. I look forward to tying one on myself.
  2. Hey Nitro, we carry a line of floating soft plastics that are red hot on the Potomac. The baits are made by RnR who is based out of that area. This is an up and coming bait manufacturer and we are the only internet site to handle this product. We have a good selection of colors and styles and may be able to share a little info on the bites right now. (just a little). We are still adding pictures but have many styles and colors in stock. We are going to run a "free shipping" special to introduce this line. Thanks Richard
  3. I would suggest using the ramp on hwy 48 in Wedowee, AL. That would put into Lake Wedowee. ;D I am not a big fan of West Point.
  4. Like another post mentioned, check the pawn shops. I have dealt with thieves for the last 20 years and I suspect it was not a fisherman but rather someone looking to get money quickly which is why a pawn shop is a good place to start. Has anyone else in the neighborhood/area had similar issues? Any friends of friends been around lately that may have known what was there? Just a few thoughts, hope you can resolve this soon. Sorry for the hastle. Good luck. Richard
  5. Real men wear purple and gold. Geaux Tigers!
  6. I have lived in Alabama since 1990 and love it here. If you decide to come this way give me a shout. I have some contacts in the Scottsboro and Guntersville area who can probably help out with housing etc. The Coosa River is near my home which makes Lake Weiss and Logan Martin if you prefer to get your arm broken by some crazy spotted bass. Alabama has alot of great lakes to fish. Give us a call. Richard 256-452-8090.
  7. Early spring in AL. While fishing a crankbait near some rip-rap and bridge, I cast along the bank and had a fish slam the bait. As I fought it to the boat I realized it had a little more attitude than a bass. As it finally came near boat, I saw a 30 lb cat fish. The issue was that he ate my favorite crankbait and I did not want to risk losing it. My net was in storage so I had to dig it out. Finally had it in my hand but had to extend the handle. While pushing the handle forward, the fish lunged towards the front of the boat, I went with him, as I headed for the front deck, I lost my balance, pushed the net head off the handle, knocked my cap off the right side of the boat. Fell in on the left side. Nice kids on jet a ski came by, daddy's little angels... Fish ran in the TM, cut the line. Saved the handle to the dip net though. My first thought was where is my cell phone. ;D Swam around to the rear of the boat and used the recested boarding ladder. ( they can really save your life you know) A pass through the area with sonar showed the depth was 5 feet, could have walked out. A day on the lake, in my world.
  8. I like the Green Pumpkin color. Spots and LM both eat it. I have been using it with a nice trailer from a new product line we carry (R&R Custom Pastics). The Hoochie Craws floats like crazy. The pinchers float up on the pause like someone stuck a gun in their ribs. ;D
  9. We use and sell weighted hooks with a screw-lock keeper. I use those hooks on the Yum Money Minnows and have been very pleased with the performance. We drop a little glue on the screw lock and the bait stays in place very well. If anyone needs 5/0 1/4oz we have them in stock. Later Richard
  10. Hey Brian, the next time you are in your favorite tackle shop look at the Excalibur brand in the "One Knocker" series. These have a unique sound produced by one large pellet. They are pretty hot on Guntersville and were kept quiet by pros for a while. In my opinion they come through the grass pretty well. We added them to our site once we saw how well they fished. Hope this helps. Richard
  11. FYI, the prices have just been reduced by $ 2 per pack. The materials the heads are made from have changed. I use and carry this product on our site and have been very pleased. The upright position of the hook makes it ready for a bite. We are working with a new vendor who makes floating soft plastics for this jig. We should have product in the next week or so. We will be sending out samples so if you would like to try some shoot us an email with your address to get on the list. blueherontackle@aol.com Later Richard
  12. We have several nice lakes here in AL. Just pick a time and come down we will find one. We have the Coosa River with several lakes on it with killer spotted bass. Just give us call. Richard

Every other nag I have bought has come from Walmart I think they school up there!!! ;D
  14. Hey guys, we can get these. If you need some of the Sebile baits let me know which bait and color and we can probably help, and save you money. We are planning to add this line to our site so a custom order is not a big deal. Later Richard
  15. I absolutly agree with Catts assesment on fishing a T-Rig worm. However, I would like to add a couple other techniques that I have found to be killer. If you have found that the S-L-O-W presentation is not working. just add a shakey head approach to it. Do all the things Catt said but add to it a shakey head approach. As you drag back the lure to the boat, simply shake the lure in short, short jerks until you get the rod to the 12 o'clock position, then reel down very slowly until you make contact with the lure again. This is when you pause. Then slowly repeat. Hope this adds to the other great posts, Lee
  16. I too like to throw them on a 7'6" rod with braid. Casts great and great hookups. I have had good action with the black one in muddy water. They also skip well too.
  17. Found them Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate everything.
  18. The 5/0 hook with a 1/4 oz works well. That size weight helps the bait swim properly. We use a hook made by William Davis (the creator of the Shaky Head) called the XWire, a quality product. This hook comes with a keeper which prevents the hole caused by pushing the weight through. I add a drop of glue when I place the keeper into the bait and it's there to stay. I have been pretty pleased with these baits so far. It is a little hard to hold back though when they inhale it. ;D
  19. I am looking for a bait company in VA that makes a floating worm. I believe the company name is H&H or R&R. No internet site. Anyone heard of them, I understand they are a local company maybe in the Alexandria area. Any help would be appreciated
  20. Once I find a bite, I like to try other baits to see what they will hit, it's also a good time to try out new baits/presentations to learn the action and effectiveness, knowing they are biting helps confidence with a new presentation. But when it comes down to it, there is nothing like figuring out what they want and giving it them in large doses! ;D It's fun when fishing with a buddy and be catching them like crazy and watching them scramble, of course I hate it the other way. I try not to let them suffer too long before giving one up, never know when that worm will turn.
  21. Consider using a 5/0 hook, reducing line size to 10-12. A swivel about a foot up will help with weight. My brother loves those things., on a recent trip to Tolendo Bend he caught a 6.8 LM plus he pounded lots of others. I gave him a pack of weighted hooks, I like to use those to speed the fall and to help the feel. Stay with the fluke, they will bite that when they won't hit anything else. The wind makes it tough. Water melon red is hard to beat.
  22. Put me down for likin the rain. Of course I don't descriminate, I fish in the rain, freezing cold, high winds, low winds, low water, high water, hot summer ( I will do it but I hate it), low gas prices, high gas prices, stock market up or down. Wife's birthday, anniversary, after dr.s appointment, while waiting for oil to be changed in the truck, on the way to work ( have had others riding in my car and made them wait while I chunked a few lures while traveling). I do avoid lightening if possible, usually wait too long and let it get too close. Yea, I got it bad ;D
  23. All good info on prep. I suggest you pay attention to what your boater is doing, it may help you understand what the fish are doing. You may have to alter your approach if he is a vacuum. When I have a co-angler in my boat I always try to let them know what the fish are doing. I have a better trip when we both catch fish. I think mutual respect is key to a good day on the lake. Do your part and give your boater the opportunity to do the same. Good luck, hope you whack em!
  24. I suspect a carp hooked in the back or tail. I recently hooked one in the tail and he pulled my boat. That may explain why the hook popped out the way you described.
  25. To address the lift you can bend the blade back and that will make it run down some. I also change the jig to a heavier one to get it down. I use a 3/4 oz on one of mine. I like to slow roll them.
