The Nats traded a utility infielder for a SS. Since we already have 3 SSs (Rendon, Desmond, Espinosa) starting on the infield, that made perfect sense...not sure it really affects anything.

Doesn't happen much up here either, but I got into a bunch of them last Sunday in 3 ft of water on a spinnerbait. Water had some current and lot of rocks, and they were very aggressive. And I could see some great monuments from where I was standing!

I love them. They are the only stick bait I buy anymore. They aren't very durable, but the keep their action if you take up to 1-2 inches off as long as you cut clean and have the appropriate-sized hook. The flat sides make it rotate side to side on the longitudinal axis which really seems to help.

You do the above with Nutella and cherry jam on brioche and you'll die happy, and your tongue will slap you back to life.

Simple answer is yes, and you should size the rod/reel/line to the cover you'll be fishing. A MH to H Bionic Blade from BPS is a good budget option for the rod. That and a decent 2500 or 3000 size spinning reel with 30 or so lb braid and you're good for all but the thickest stuff.

My old 870 Wingmaster patterned for poop out of the full choke with 00 buck. Modified was where it held a killing pattern out to 35 yards. It almost seemed like in some of the shots the pellets bounced off each other. 35 is the max I would go, and only if your gun patterns well at that range and it's a broadside shot. Front quartering is bad news; you have too much meat/bone for the pellet to punch through. Quartering away or broadside is best. Each of those pellets has approximately the energy of a 9mm out to about 35 yards, so look at it from that optic.

I had a jig do the same thing to a Cielo on a short line, shallow water fish. Nailed the rod and broke about foot clean off. I was honest with Daiwa and only paid shipping for a replacement.

Well...you know what 'maters grow best in...you seem to be full of it. There are a couple fertilizers that help with yields..are you growing in pots or the ground? Have you had your soil tested?

Tubed jigs are a pretty cheap craw imitation that does well in rocks. Cast upstream ANC let the current sweep it under the slabs.

Daiwa Cielos are being closed out. You can get them for slightly more than an Ugly stick some places.as far as bang for your buck, that's about as good as you're going to get.

Invizx should be a good most purpose. It'll sink if you want to use poppers or walkers so just know that. Yozuri Hybrid would be another good line, as is Suffix mono. All will do. Serious things well, but nothing great.

Save your money, Cardiff 300. Good luck finding a Curado 300D, but also a great reel.

Wow, that's an old boat. I thought they were all wood back then. I wouldn't t do it. It's going to wear out the rest of the car more than the engine.

Took my four year old to a local marina Sunday night. We had fish as fast as we could re bait and get the worm/bobber back in the water. Probably caught around 60 in 90 minutes, almost all of which were hand sized or bigger. Really great evening.

TW has both the Daiwa T and Powell Deisel rods on sale for $60. Those aT's are about as good as you can get in that price range.

What is the canoe actually made out of? I have hard time believing that a plastic or PVC tarp would cause mold?

If i were you, I would do an Okuma Swimbait rod in H or MH, and a 200 or 300 series Cardiff. Then you have a very multipurpose stick, and you should be able to get it for sub 200 total. That C3 5500 is fine too though...nothing wrong with that.
