  1. You are absolutely correct...and here it is:
  2. There was a poll posted here a few weeks ago asking about FLW vs BASS etc. and that brought a few questions to mind that I'd like to ask. I considered creating a separate poll, but the options are too varied so I'll just pose the question(s) and allow everyone to answer in their own words. Here it goes: How closely do you follow the pro series (FLW/BASS/others?)? Do you follow both or only one? Do you have a favorite pro that you follow closely to see how they are doing and "root" for them, or do you just check the daily updates to see how the leader is finding fish, what structure they are fishing, and how they are approaching the given waters with the current weather, etc.? If you have a favorite, why are they your favorite...(you know them personally...you fish a similar style...they are from your area...etc.) Include any other aspects of "following" a pro series that you feel pertinent.
  3. Will it be a team event with your non-boating partner or will each of you be fishing in separate competitions? If you advance, will you keep the same partner for the next round?
  4. Very noticeable difference from the other side of the world too. Good job!
  5. If I'm busting the bank, a couple are alright, but if I've got the boat in the water, I'm hoping for at least five...hopefully no lest than 10 though. But in this case...SIZE DOES MATTER. At the same time, the conditions have to be taken into consideration as well. I went out today and if I had caught one dink, I would have counted it as a good day. Still fishless for '08. That's alright though...the water's cold enough, they'll keep.
  6. Hey, I'll take any of them. I don't get any American bass fishing shows over here. I do have"The Fishing Channel" on Korean Cable, but it consists of about 10 hours a day of carp fishing shows, 10 hours of ocean fishing and the other four hours are random fishing shows...a couple of which might be a bass show each week. (Right now they are ice fishing for carp...woo hoo...I'm on the edge of my seat.) So go ahead, pick your worst bass fishing TV show and send it on over here...I'll gladly take it.
  7. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130193453575&ssPageName=MERC_VI_RCRX_Pr12_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=130177128852&itemcount=12&refwidgetloc=active_view_item&usedrule1=CrossSell_LogicX&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget#ebayphotohosting Get em now while supplies last!!!
  8. When you say "5 baits"...do you mean five types of baits, or only five actual baits...as in if you hang up and break off five times...you're finished..??? If the latter, I would definitely choose a topwater as at least one of my choices. Anyway, sounds like fun as long as you are allowed to "claim defeat" and continue fishing as normal for the remainder of the day.
  9. I'm guessing you are talking about the Calcutta TE DC. Those have been out for 2-3 years now. I have a regular Calcutta TE and although I have never tried one with the chip, I've heard that they aren't worth the huge price difference.
  10. If he were fishing instead of hunting, it could be captioned "Loading up the Boat"!
  11. Here's my smallest (recorded) catch.... (notice how it is thrust towards the camera for the "full sized effect"?) I did catch one smaller than this on a 1/2 oz. Rat-L-Trap that was only SLIGHTLY larger than the lure. I don't have that photo available right now due to a crashed hard drive, but it's a great pic. Maybe I'll get that hard drive recovered some day.
  12. Opening the box on the latest tackle that I ordered!!!
  13. I've never heard of that...but I have heard of people licking poison dart frogs to get the same reaction. Poison dart frogs secrete a toxin out of their skin to prevent predators from eating them. The only thing I think that you will get when you lick a catfish would be a mouthfull of badly tasting catfish slime. But I guess some catfish secrete the same toxins...JMO You ever wonder who discovers some of these things???
  14. This guy has a serious dilemma.... http://www.shortypen.com/projects/pond/sam/index.htm
  15. My top five: 1) Jitterbug (my choice - black) 2) Rat-L-Trap 3) Senko (gotta be in the modern top 5) 4) Jig....(pick your favorite) 5) Original floating Rapala
  16. I just gave up cigarettes about five weeks ago...but I do like a good cigar. Cubans are legal in Korea....I'll probably take a couple or so cigars each trip. I just have to be careful because I don't want to get started on cigarettes agian. Third time quitting....never again. If I can stick to 2-5 cigars a week, I'll be satisfied (I hope).
  17. Are you sure it wasn't a Peterbilt? ;D
  18. Flippin, I'm not sure what you're talking about. I wasn't trying to steer you away from anything that I know of and I'm not sure what could be construed as such...
  19. 1. Paying for the habit. 2. Ice....
  20. So I'm not the only one to experiment with this technique??? :-[
  21. uhm...wow i guess im in trouble Go to your local courthouse and ask about applying for that license and you'll probably learn a few other legalities you weren't aware of either.
  22. Someone else's credit card!
  23. Tubes are associated more with smallmouth although that isn't to say they won't catch largemouth. While worms give more of a straight up/down action (depending on how you fish it of course) tubes have more of a sporadic and unpredictable action with a kind of twisting fall. One of my best fishing days ever came with a small 1 1/2 " tube...for largemouth! There are no smallmouth here in Korea, but about 3 years ago, I was out on the water the day before a typhoon was forecast to hit. It was already cloudy and windy, turning cooler and the water was starting to get a bit choppy, but I tore up some LMB on a little bluish/purple tube all day until the wind picked up and drove me and my little inflatable raft off the water. No lunkers, but a lot of fun and a memorable day nonetheless.
  24. Nothing fancy here. In the hot part of the summer, I use just a regular 1/4 oz. jig head. That with a motor oil 4" stick worm is my most reliable bait on slow hot days.
