Hitting the River Dams?
"Is there a good time to fish below the dam?" Yes! Anytime! Dams are one of the most consistent locations I fish!

Your fishing style in as few words as possible (explanation allowed)
I guess I have no style. What I do and how I do it depends on many variables like "what" I'm fishing for, where I'm fishing, the weather, etc. And many times it depends on how I feel. Do I feel like taking it slowly and picking apart cover or do I want to beat my way down a bank to cover as much water as possible? I guess the best description is I try to adapt to the situation at hand and most importantly enjoy it.

Vertical Fishing by Fishfinder
I've done it for crappie, perch, and walleye over deep water. I also had it work for SM on the St. Lawrence. Most of the LM water I fish is too shallow.

The latest sale thread
I just bought a rod and the discount showed up in the cart. The stuff I bought last week showed up at regular price in the cart but the email showed the discount. BTW last week's purchase was before the sale but they still gave me a discount. 😊

BFS Rod Recommendations
Just an FYI. Thanks to the guys who made suggestions. I ended up with a Cashion BFS rod which I think will be the best setup for me.

Trolling for bass
Interesting to see Spoonplugs mentioned. I was given a complete set that has never been wet. Maybe I should give them a try. 😉

Fishing in Frigid Temperatures
The trips might not be as long as usual but If I get the urge I will fish no matter what the temperature is if I can find open water.

Who here fishes from the bank?
I have 2 small boats but sometimes I enjoy grabbing a chair, some junk food, minnows and just sitting on the bank watching a bobber.

The latest sale thread
I placed an order with TW this past Friday. There was a lure I wanted and there was only one in stock. I added a few more things to get to $50.00 for free shipping. After I placed the order it dawned on me that had I waited until Monday I would have got in on the sale. When I received the e-mail invoice it showed that they gave me the discounted sale prices on everything and my order will be here on Tuesday. There's nothing to complain about with that order!!!!!

Is there a better entry-level deal than the Tracker?
WOW!!!

Is there a better entry-level deal than the Tracker?
I have a Jon boat up the mountains. About 2 years ago I decided to put a floor in it to cover the ribs. I priced 1/4" diamond plate and it was way more expensive than I had paid for the aluminum to do my War Eagle. I'm still tripping over ribs in the Jon but I may do it this year.

Is there a better entry-level deal than the Tracker?
I installed a 1/4" aluminum diamond plate deck in my boat. It was not any harder to cut and work with than wood. A saber saw and metal cutting blade worked great. I covered it with an EVA foam material. I forget the brand name. It does not get hot and it has lasted years. If I had to do it again I would use aluminum again.

BFS Rod Recommendations
I spent the last four hours watching videos and reading reviews and you're right. I may need to go with a softer rod especially since I want to throw mostly light soft plastics.

BFS Rod Recommendations
I just looked at the 7" Cashion on another site. The weight range is the best I've seen so far and that is a plus for me.

BFS Rod Recommendations
1/15th up to 1/4, maybe a little more. Using 8lb braid now on the reel. I have been throwing a lot of light lures and some weightless rubber. Thanks! I do not want a soft tip. The rod I'm using now has a soft tip. This is the problem where I'm at. No one has any rods that I would like to look at in stock.

BFS Rod Recommendations
I am considering a new BFS rod. The rod I am currently using is an older 6' rod but I would like to try a longer rod. I like to handle a rod before I buy but none of the shops near me including Cabela's have a selection of BFS rods to handle. My only option is to buy online and hope for the best. I am currently looking at the Dobyns SUF 700C but I am open to suggestions about other rods including places to buy.

Quality Rod or Quality Reel?
For me, it depends on what and how I'm fishing. For pike & musky, a broomstick would suffice for a rod but the reel must be able to handle a big fish. For bass a sensitive rod may be more important for the "feel" but any reel that holds the line will work.

Is there a better entry-level deal than the Tracker?
Just an FYI I do not if the Mercs are similar but the difference between the 40 HP Suzuki and the 50 Suzuki is the computer. I was going to upgrade my computer but the cost was not cheap and I was told I might gain a couple of miles per hour so I passed.
