Frog Misses!!!! NOOOO!!!!!
I was having a similar problem with toads last year. Switched to a H rod and it solved my problems. Make sure the rod is rated for 3/8oz. on the low end. Some rods H power is more like a M/MH. I thought it might have been the line, but I am hooking up well with 12# Yo Zuri. I may switch to braid in the near future though.

Legend Elite
I love the LE spinning rods, but do not have any casting rods because of the ACS reel seat. I think it is a bit overpriced off the shelf though. I think I saw somewhere that custom rod builders can build on the LE blank for cheaper than St. Croix sells it. I like the rod a lot, but I do not have any other high end spinning rods to compare it to. It seems everyone says the sensitivity is similar to the IMX.

whats fair?
50% plus shipping or combined shipping on multiple rods seems about right for most rods in good shape. If it is lightly used and "like new" then I think it is fair to ask 75% and drop it from there if it doesn't sell. Shipping is approx. $20 so calculate accordingly. Of all the rods I have sold, most people offer $10-$20 less than the asking price. Usually we settle somewhere in between.Something to keep in mind.

which baitcaster?
Revo S or Ctica. The revo can be found for under $80 new online. The Citica is great too.

Alright college students let start suing.
I was wondering the same thing. Not gonna lie, I did not have the best attendance record in undergrad. As a matter of fact, after the first year of grad school I was voted most likely to skip class. I guess since she can't land a job, I have no chance. Now, who can I sue???

Very dumb Question
Keep asking these "very dumb questions." First, someone out there is probably asking themselves the same question in their head. Heck, they might have caught 50 crappie in a day and thought and tell everybody they had a 50 bass day. Second, you will never learn unless you ask questions. Some of the smartest people I know are the ones that "sit in front" and ask what seem to be the dumbest questions. And three, you have definitely come to the right place to get your bass fishing questions answered. Good luck getting that first bass.

Loomis Rod suggestion
BCR 854. Just got mine delivered today and it feels SWEET! $225 shipped makes it even SWEETER. Searching bass forums for a month finally paid off.

There no point in trying anymore.

Suggestions on crankbait rod. Help me spend money!
G Loomis CBR845 is by far the best crankbait rod I have used and well worth the money. Its' MSRP is expensive, but I have seen several go for $160-200 on various forums and fleabay. Might look at a St. Croix avid 70MHM as well. I was down to these two and picked the Loomis.

Buzzbait blade color
I prefer black, but will throw silver on a sunny day and gold on an overcast day sometimes. All catch fish, but I fish the black/black the most.

Shimano Core 100MG vs 50MG7 Hands On Reel Review
How does the size compare to the older 50Mg? Is the 50Mg more like the 100 core or the new 50Mg?

Gear Ratio for soft plastics
Anything that picks up 30+ in./turn works well for me. That Curado would be a great choice. The only reason I don't have one is the LH model rubs my big fat hands raw after an hour or two. It will make a great plastics reel.

heavy duty rod for heavybass fishing
Shimano Clarus should fit the bill. Get one 6'6 MH Fast and the other 6'8 MXF.

heavy duty rod for heavybass fishing
Any rod would be capable of landing that fish without breaking. Sounds like the rod had a defect or the drag wasn't set properly. The later is probably not the case unless the fish ran like a freight train. My advice would be to get another M action spinning rod such as a Shimano Clarus. I think the craftsman ship will be better than the Mitchell. If you wanted something a little more expensive then you have several options. You probably do not need 15# line on a spinning reel either. Try something in the 6-10# range and I am sure you will be satisfied.

Need your input
Because it is the rod that catches the fish. I have several high(er) end reels that could work, but I like the feel of the revo on heavier action rods. Maybe one day I will put another D7 on it, but for now the Revo will work perfectly for me. Just a preference I guess. If the Revo will work, then why sell it to get a more expensive reel?

Need your input
I guess I never really answered the question, but I would favor the Avid. Isn't there a 6'6MH for sale in the flea market? Might give that a try.

Need your input
A $100 reel with a $170 Avid will catch the same amount of fish as a $200 reel on a $170 Avid. The Citica and Revo S are great reels at their respected price point. Similar to Burley, I will be putting my Revo S on a GLX once it gets here.

Hitched
Like said about, it also took me about 2 months. Boy does it feel weird when I take it off though.

How much does it cost to ship RODS
Here is what I have found from shipping multiple rods. If you do not have a tube, you can get a 2" PVC pipe from home depot for around $4.50 cut to length. This will work for all casting rods. 3" will have to be used for spinning rods bc of the big first guide. These size tubes will allow for space to wrap rods to prevent damage as well. If you already have a tube that will work then you're already set. As for shipping. Cheapest is USPS priority mail. Most expensive is UPS. FedEx is somewhere in between, but closer to UPS than USPS. UPS cost me about $25 to ship from Chicago to west coast. They measure length and diameter to figure charges. (I do not know the formula). USPS 2-3 day Priority will run about $15 to the same place. I always add delivery confirmation, their tracking, and insurance. Its like $.70 and $3 respectively. They also measure and charge accordingly, but their usually isn't a surcharge for a 2" tube of 7'2. I have had a surcharge when shipping a 7' spinning rod in a 3" tube before. You can see each companies website for surcharges. If you ship with USPS it shouldn't be much more than $20 no matter where is goes. ( This is including a surcharge if needed) I hope this helps.

Revos on Sale at Tackle Warehouse
Don't you have a baby to feed or does he eat Revo's? J/K You love those reels. The new ones do look nice though. I would be tempted, but the price tag jumped a little more than I am comfortable spending. I would think about getting another S, but don't know much about their new centrifugal braking system they are putting on it.

Favorite Full Cork Rods
Good suggestions guys. It seems that I have found some rods I really like in the Loomis line. I sold the Dobyns split grip, but I see that all their 7'3 rods come with full cork which may be an option when I need to add some rods. I have pondered the idea of having some custom rods made on the Legend Elite blank in the future, but that won't be for a few years. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Revos on Sale at Tackle Warehouse
Looks like there might be a typo. STX- $139.99 SX- $144.99 Seems like it should be the other way around, but maybe they have a surplus of STX, who knows. Great deal nonetheless.

Weightless Lines
I use weighted line, specifically 1/16oz I use Yo Zuri lines and Trilene 100% (Will probably switch once I re-spool)
