  1. My girlfriend's sister worked for them for years, and they definitely aren't gimmicky. I've owned a pair of Costas and these every bit as nice.
  2. Those look interesting. Might get me a pair. Knots are getting tough to see.
  3. Maui Jim. Can't remember the frame style, but I'm using their darkest smoke/mirror lens.
  4. So you could get the check engine light after 10,000 miles? Can't really help you until you get the code(s).
  5. I'll take a stab.... KVD, Ike, Swindle, Reese....
  6. OG Bassyriski. Fun bait!
  7. If those 50 one pounders are legal size, then yes.
  8. Leaky lockers are a common issue with aluminum boats.
  9. You're in Sustain territory. I will say I have three OG CI4 Stradics, and literally caught 100's of bass on each, and 100's more salmon and steelhead on one. Not a single issue with any of them. I did upgrade to Carbontex drag washers.
  10. I seriously doubt they do.
  11. Because it is not enjoyable to me.
  12. If I understand correctly, the custom above was built on a factory rod, not a blank.
  13. Good point! I wondered about this as well.
  14. Also true, especially with braid.
  15. I have no idea what the point is here. I don't watch much of it, especially not on Mothers' Day and Memorial Day. Professional bass fishing has very little to offer the average angler. It isn't relatable to me. To me, MLF is a television product, set to make some money, and all to the benefit of the on screen talent.
  16. I do not think any of the benefits micro guides offer outweigh the negatives. Do they pass connection knots? Some do, none very well. They bend too easily. Anyone that says they never bent one is either lying, or never actually fished with the rod. Lastly, if I have to put reading glasses on to rig up a rod, I'm passing. I have plenty of rods that don't have micros, and they're every bit as sensitive, light and balanced. In fact, I think many rod makers use micros to compensate for issues in these departments. I'd rather see more "mini" guides, like what is used on the Okuma TCS series. They are very tough, light, accommodate connection knots better, and don't suffer any of the issues above.
  17. I've caught them on medium to heavy bass gear. Super Flukes worked pretty well on my trip. The biggest issue was the bull sharks that were in the area we were fishing. You had to get the snook in fast, or the sharks would eat it.
  18. Any bait you move with the rod, not the reel.
  19. Is it really more convenient to watch bass fishing on Mothers' Day? LOL.
  20. Only in the dead of winter. Fall run is amateur hour there.
  21. Personally not a fan of glass or composite sticks, but preferences in jerkbait rods is all over the spectrum in both length and action.
  22. Semi dry suit or breathable waders. If you go the waders route, ALWAYS cinch your wading belt tight. In any case, carry a water proof "ditch bag." Take a dry bag, fill it with a change of clothes, towel, tinder and fire starter, and some sugary hard candy in case you fall in.
  23. To be sure it was in response to Justin's congrats.
  24. I kind of disagree, but only in the situation of fishing them extremely slow, in cold water. If I'm not paying attention during very long pauses, I might not notice a bite, as there is a bit of slack in the line. Most often it's when A fish runs at the boat after biting on the pause. Most bites come on the pause, for me. That all varies on activity level, though. So, it may be different in other places. That said, the 6-8 is also a nice jerkbait rod.
