  1. So, they're actually trying to stick it to BASS?
  2. Those are facts, lol. My opinion: 12 is fine for general stuff, but 15 is the workhorse size. 15 is thick enough for strength, but doesn't handle like cable. I don't use much 12, but I use quite a bit of 15, 10, and 6.
  3. They work really well on NY bass as well
  4. My favorite as well, for banging into to things, and not getting hung up. For lift and drop, the Boo-Yah version works well.
  5. I add a split ring and a barrel swivel and use a Uni knot.
  6. I had Scott Hovanec turn some custom cork knobs for mine.
  7. I have both, and I use the 3000 for secondary duty casting for steelhead, browns, and salmon. The extra line capacity is necessary for these species, when fishing with light line. For bass only, the 2500 is plenty.
  8. If I’m in the big lake, I’m fishing shallow for shiny fish ?
  9. I got it...
  10. DT are *one* choice. There are many other brands that work as well, or better. Almost all my cranks are MS American Shad, regardless of diving depth. The main thing to keep in mind with cranks, if you're hauling water, you're doing it wrong. Cranking is all about making contact with something. Whether that's the bottom, cover like weeds or laydowns, or dock pilings, etc. depends on the location.
  11. We'll be seeing a 50° drop in high temp between today and tomorrow. Tape is for rookies.
  12. It's all relative to the water you're fishing. If it's the city dump, I'm thinking 20-30'.
  13. My favorite part.
  14. Never heard of a 2700 box, but I'd recommend the new Plano Z-Series backpack. It comes with four 3700 boxes.
  15. Why is the assumption that spinning reels take up less IPT than baitcasters? You might want to look at the facts here. My 6:1 2500 reel takes up over 35 IPT.
  16. Been sticking bass with 3x worm hooks and jigs using mono since the 80s. Rods were not really fast by today's standards, and we were using "high speed" 5:1 reels. Dip the tip, reel down, and cross their eyes.
  17. Get a Lifeproof Fre case.
  18. There are a million YouTubers out there, and only a few that actually make money doing it. You'll have to set yourself apart from all the rest if you want to do this.
  19. That's a jar for Gulp! baits. Just get a deep, no divider 3700 box, or use a speed bag. Speed bags work for me, and you can store both clam shells and bags together.
  20. I own around 30 Saint Croixs, and they do run a bit heavier than many other brands. Their M/XF and ML/XF tapers are what you want for lighter baits.
  21. Color dual beam sonar and GPS should take care of what you absolutely need.
