That's what us well to do folks are all eating.
  2. I don't think price has too much to do, many baits over $10 have already been mentioned. Probably because that bait is marketed toward salt anglers.
  3. I think the first Citica came out when you were around three years old, lol.
  4. Two articles that feature different versions of "power fishing." Suppose it depends on who you ask. http://www.bassmaster.com/node/98467 http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/flipping_pitching_fishing.html

No sweat....my truck gets roughly 18-20 mpg, so, the half gallon to get ten miles down the road cost about $1.25 in gas to fill my 25 gallon tank. So I saved $1.75. That's a net difference of 50 cents - 50 cents closer to my expensive mustard sammich!
  6. Do you even fly fish? Myself, and most guys I know use a nail less knot, not a blood knot to connect fly line to leader. I'd like to see a blood knot in action, connecting 8 WF fly line to a tapered fluoro leader, lol. Leaders are furled or tapered. The blood knot is used to attach a "tippet" or short length of leader to the tapered leader. Leaders are expensive, tippet (leader material) is not. Tippet is roughly the same size as the small end of the tapered leader.
  7. Mine would be this specific one eyed Sammy 115. The color was MS Am. Shad, but it's mostly silver and clear now. It's my most productive because it's the one I throw the most. I've caught a ton of bass on that thing.
  8. One of my favorite things to do with a deep diving crankbait is to work shallow bedding areas with it. Cast, let settle like a topwater. Reel in, until it hits bottom, and let it dig in a bit. Stop, and give it a 30 count. Repeat. You'd be surprised how many hit it on the rise.
  9. Because it's not a great knot for lines of differing material and/or diameter. It's a nice, low profile knot for splicing similar lines together, and I like it for replacing a top shot of line, and not throwing out the backer. Another rarely used knot, that I use a lot in winter when my hands are numb is a triple surgeon's. Again, it's ok, if the lines are similar size. It was a that knot that tied up fast in order to snake this smallie off a bed while my buddy retied, lol. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/dropshot-bedding-bass.html
  10. What are you gonna do? Happens every winter. Pass by, or educate.

    Just saw gas for 2.99.

Plain white bread is only good for feeding the ducks. Blech. I have to have sticks and gravel in my bread!
  13. Get the big one.
  14. Lucky Craft LC Wake 3.5 in MS Am. Shad is my favorite. I throw it on a Saint Croix LTB70MF, JDM Zillion spooled with 12# P-Line CXX.
  15. There is no "sturdy reel company," but there are sturdy models. Pick a price range, and you'll get better answers, otherwise you'll just get fanboy responses. The sturdiest lopro reel I own is either a Zillion or a Pinnacle Optimus hand tuned. Internally, I'll give the Pinnacle the nod, due to the strong parts. Feel, the Zillion wins. There's just not a more solid feeling reel.
  16. The guides on a casting rod aren't well suited for the elevated position of the spool.

    Time to buy!
  18. Fallfish: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallfish I caught some big ones (my first) up on Upper Saranac this past summer.

You should see how much mustard is. Can't afford mustard for my mustard sammie.
  20. Seems like I heard the term earlier in In-Fisherman, but that might be about right.

Yes, I'm serious. Arnold's bread is $3.99/loaf. Apparently that's a lot less than the suggested retail of $6.99/loaf. Crappy Wonderbread and like is around $2.99.loaf.
  22. It's a knot that takes some practice. I don't even really like tying it on the water. This is the best video I've found for learning the hand movements:
  23. We're just talking about them, off board... I have some very high end ZPI bearings in my TD-X HSDLs. They're pretty good. They were expensive. I've never used the IXA, so I'd say #1.
