  1. I fished Louisiana for reds in October. The guide said that the tackle boxes of every red fisherman is full of gold spoons and Cocahoe minnows on a jig head.
  2. Friday here in MD, in the teens. (I even wore long pants to work) Awoke Saturday morning to freezing temps and a nice layer of ice on everything. Sunday, 65 degrees around midday.
  3. At first glance at the topic, I was thinking LIAR...
  4. 39" 27# caught on a 7' 843 RX7 Rainshadow custom and a Quantum Smoke 100HPT. Don't go too heavy, you'll take all the fun out of it...

I went through a commercial driving safety seminar. There is something scientific regarding listening and attentiveness. Even talking on a phone with a blue tooth, decreases your attentiveness way more than you think it does.
  6. Only four total. Prince twice, Tom Jones (yes Tom Jones) and Peter Frampton.
  7. Aside from the spark plugs being expensive to change (I had one back out and cause the computer to cook) my 2007 is still going strong.

    muddy is returning to Bassresource...
  9. I believe I see THE Cocahoe Minnow on your line. I bought a bunch for my trip and caught all fish on a gold Johnson Silver Minnow. My partner, all on the Cocahoe. You are exactly correct about the tackle. I've been on a downsizing trend for bass myself.
  10. Between the fishing and the food...
  11. My partner has been before but, this was my first time. All fish were caught in two feet of water with bass tackle. Catching 20-30lb. fish in shallow water will make you rethink bass fishing. Man I want to live in Houma, Louisiana. The first pic is a 39", 27# red, the second was 32". Best fight I ever had as we had a double hook up and this fish ran through the guts and cuts on the bayou taking the tops off the marsh grass. (I lost complete site and just kept pressure)
  12. My partner and I planned a redfish trip in Houma, LA. over a year ago (another story) Since we weren't going to drive 20 plus hours from MD all in one trip, we wanted to stop and fish. We decided on Guntersville and called a guide. He said he couldn't, and recommended we call Derek Remitz. Yep, this Derek Remitz. http://www.bassmaster.com/anglers/derek-remitz He is taking a break from the Elite Series and now guides full time on Guntersville. He is a proud, new dad and talked about his little man a lot. We fished with him on a Sunday (on the way down) and Saturday (on the way home) What a blast. We fish the tidal Potomac River and this was different for us. The fish weren't big right now as the weather is just too warm and the fall pattern hasn't started. We also both got a spotted bass, which neither of us had caught before. He was a blast to fish with and caught on quick to our sense of humor and joined in the fun. He is not pretentious despite his accomplishments. Just like fishing with a friend. Both evenings at the end, he had a few beers in the parking lot and hung out for a while and talked. He knew we were headed to Louisiana and mentioned that he'd love a redfish filet. We just happened to catch a few. After talking about it, I think we have him talked in a redfish trip to Louisiana. He recommends fishing Guntersville in May. We'll most likely never make it back but, if you're thinking of a trip to Alabama, book Wolverine.
  13. As blue as when it went in. It will pool in the cover depending on the tilt of the motor.
  14. I have a 2005 60HP Mercury. Two stroke oil drips down the shaft, onto the plate above the prop and onto the ground. (or water) The lower unit has oil on it. It is a very small amount. It hardly lowers the level in tank. I checked tank sending unit and the feed to the injector and they are both dry. Is there another place (that is easy to see) that could leak oil.
  15. I don't know where you live but, here in the mid-Atlantic, there are numerous fishing flea markets throughout the winter. Tables are sold for a small fee and you come in and sell your gear to eager buyers looking for a deal.
  16. In my experience on the Potomac, the snakehead bite dies at dark.
  17. Wow, it's blown your pool on it's side!
  18. My partner and I tried these a few years ago with flukes. Something about them hindered hookups. We couldn't put our finger on it.
