That a better choice. You might look at medium heavy moderate action depending on what weight baits you will be throwing. Most mediums are up to 5/8 oz baits while a medium heavy will cover p to 1 oz baits.

The blanks are highly similar but different. Like you mentioned the handles & guides & price are different. The extreme has always been the better rod between the two but with the new elite model introduction it is almost a tie. The extreme line does offer moderate action blanks while the elite has only xtra fast, fast, & mod fast actions.

Jeff you might also try a lipless crank for vertical jigging also. Just remove the rear treble first. Similar to a blade bait but with a rattle. The best time to buy Tatsu is during the days before Christmas sale at TW. The last couple of years it goes on sale the first or second day for either 20% or 25% off. They announce a different product each day until the 25th of the month.
