  1. Been there twice this year. Going again next March with 7 others from this board. Take a look at this last thread from out Nov trip. Maybe Jeff (00 mod) will insert a few links from his first trip & our 2nd trip. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/127409-magic-in-mexico-2nd-video-added/
  2. Very nice Goose. I just spoke to Robert & Mike about the same application today.
  3. Maxima ultragreen. Also try mean green McCoy.
  4. KS state record is 6.88lbs 21-1/2" long last fish pic was 6.75lbs 23" long That was the lighest coloration I have ever seen as well. About 5lbs as I remember.
  5. I would seriously look at a deep V boat with a higher degree of dead rise. Think like 15 to 19 degrees of deadrise. The deeper the dead rise the easier the re-entry after hitting a bigger wave. If you want a bass boat ranger makes a modified deep vee for the great lakes in their multi-species lineup. Look at the 620vs fisherman or 619 or 621. You could also get air ride pedestals that cushion the ride or suspension seat that isolated the roughness from the drivers seat.
  6. These two were caught 15 minutes apart from the same spot.
  7. Careful J your starting to hit close to home.
  8. For me all smallmouth are beautiful. It's just some are more pretty than others. The heavy tiger stripes contrast really sets them off. Time in the livewell does help enhance the coloration.
  9. Outstanding video. Loved the shots of your daughter, too cute. I counted the number of fish caught and I counted your smiles and believe it or not they were equal. There is no doubt you love catching fish. Keep up the catching buddy.
  10. Losing a canine buddy is tough. Best thing to do is get a new buddy as soon as you are ready.
  11. You are a good sport Brian. Well done.
  12. That's the way to play that Andy. Good job.
  13. We tried to tell you not to leave. Welcome back.
  14. Absolutely correct. But any beard looks better than a drum, dum da dum.
  15. Click on the rage tail site & look for rigging tips & instructions on each bait. Very helpful.
  16. That's because she had fat dripping off her fat! She was very well fed. Hope she lives long enough to get caught again. When female fish like that reach that age she probably is not spawning anymore just eating.
  17. Brian I only get lucky when it is easy. Rest of the time I struggle like everyone else.
  18. The only thing missing from that picture is a drum stick. And maybe a shave.
  19. Brian they are supposed to look like this. You got the head right just missing the body coloration.
  20. Brian you beat me to it. I heard it was coming.
  21. We are on the same page . I just got bothered by the 2 to1 ratio at the higher levels.
  22. Maybe Fish Chris will chime in. He caught a monster eight lb + smallie in California. And Chris has had a lot of big largemouth to make a comparison.
  23. I respectively disagree. How many eight lbs largemouth have you caught in new england Shane? And how many 16lb largemouth has Big O caught in texas or south? I'll be willing to bet your eights outnumber Steve's sixteens and your sevens outnumber Steve's 14's. I think you are on the right track but your ratio needs a little fine tuning. The smallmouth lbs to largemouth lbs are based on observed time spent fishing for either species during prime times & fishing prime waters. If you fish lake baccarac for 6 days hard you will more than likely break ten lbs. If you fish lake erie with me prespawn for 6 days you will more than likely catch a six lb smallie. The only reason I'm saying fish with me is you will be fishing the right water (locations) similar to fishing the right water on lake baccarac with an experienced local guide. Ask a fellow new englander if he thinks his pb bass is the equal of double that down south and I think his response would be not double but somewhere in between the two. Obviously you have to consider time spent on the water & equal fishing skills.
  24. The six lb smallie outfights the 10lb largemouth by far. Talking to the guides at lake baccarac they answered the question about what size fights the hardest. Their reply was the 7-9lbers. Their experience with grandes (over 10lbs) was the bigger fish pull hard but don't have the stamina to fight very long. But a 6lb smallie will fight all twelve rounds not just 2-3. With the smallmouth it's all about endurance.
