  1. The price difference between a steez and a calcutta B is quite large. You might be better off to consider the calcutta D instead. The 200 series feels like a 100 series in your hand because of the taper & new design. If you really want a 100 series you can get a JDM 100 from Japan.
  2. X2 I bought a pros's boat from the sponsor dealership. The boat, motor, trailer & all equipment came with full warranties because it was never titled. I had a hull warranty problem come up after two years and the boat manufacture fully accepted all responsibility and repaired the problem above & beyond my expectations. I would do it again if I was looking for a replacement boat. I saved about $13,000 on the transaction as opposed to ordering the same equipped boat brand new.
  3. My jig hookups are almost full proof. I honestly can't remember the last time I missed a fish with a jig. Weedless plastics are more hit & miss because of the fish grabbing the end of the bait rather than eating it whole. My experience with a jig & trailer is the fish always eats it whole.
  4. I agree with retiredbosyn & papajoe on this one. I use medium moderate & medium heavy moderate for cranks & jerkbaits with 10lb braid when fishing open waters of lake erie. The thinner dia. of 10lb braid gets you down quick. The relationship between crank rod versus line has to have enough give or stretch to remain effective. It can be the line or the rod that puts enough cushion into the equation to keep fish hooked up. It is really personal preference based on the waters you fish.
  5. That looks like a tip down technique.
  6. Yea the boat always helps.
  7. It's always a learning curve. Nice fish.
  8. So what your telling us Steve is that a jig & trailer can cover the whole water column from top to bottom & can be fished as a reaction bait to a finesse bait & everything in between. Maybe that is why a jig used to be included in army survival kits. Maybe that is why the almighty jig can catch just about any species that swims in fresh or salt water. I think your on to something.
  9. I have both. Sometimes you will find one has a better blank for a particular application than the other. I find st croix has better fit & finish on the high end overall. Recently loomis quality control has suffered greatly.
  10. I have been known to use their prism shad deep divers. Those have good hooks right out of the box.
  11. Scent confusion now that is a new one.
  12. Outstanding!
  13. Otterod on the blank of your choice.
  14. My wife bought me one because she didn't like holding the spool on a pencil for me. Anyhow they work just fine.
  15. Great PB. Congrats.
  16. That diawa fuego retails for $299.99 and is being sold at $99.99 for the labor day sale. That's 66% off according to tackle warehouse. There are five pages of a tread on tackletour by guys talking about what a good deal this is and they are buying it left & right. Don't wait too long or they will be out of stock.
  17. Nice win. You should have been smiling.
  18. Nice bass A-Jay. Both of those guys are very stout for their length. Healthy looking fish.
  19. I think most braid is damaged from casting & the proverbial bird nest. Guys that use braid for trolling hardly ever have any problem with breakage and they reuse the same braid season after season without renewal.
  20. Looks like you have a plan. Keep them coming.
  21. I wanted to offer up the zombie jig but someone else is using that name.
  22. Mike he said no cuss words! You just spelled it differently.
