  1. All these great minds in fishing and no one huh??
  2. Dennis Leary said it best... "Dont eat the tuna fish." "Well why not?" "Because dolphins are getting stuck in the nets" "What about the tuna fish?" "Screw them they taste good"
  3. Who changed my post? I dont live in a fantasy world. I live in a world where I do my thing and you do yours, what this country was founded on. I dont tell you that you cant do yoga on sunday so dont tell me I cant hunt on sunday. Everyone needs to quit stickn their nose in everyones business with their next bright idea to save the world. We are a spec in the grand scheme of the universe. Man is not the sole cause of global warming, the fish arent being overharvested in this country inland because we ourselves have created agencies to make it not happen. Without the funding of sportsman these lands so many people claim to love would be wastelands. Sorry if I dont wanna eat any of that pie, tired of some idiot out in left field screaming that the umpire behind the plate is blind.
  4. You shouldve went along
  5. I say we divide the us in half horizontal. All the democrats can live in the north and all make the same wage regardless of job, live in housing developments overrun with wild animals, have massive fish kills in their lakes and streams. All the normal people will agree to move south of the line and continue living like regular individuals. North of the line, no guns, no ammunition. They tear down every house in favor of everyone having the same cardboard box with nothing to individualize them. Everyone can eat the same tofu dinner every night of the week, you want tacos you say, too bad the community is having bark sandwiches. Likely all the people who make this country run will be in the south so no mechanics, no butchers(not that you will need them), no road work. I really honestly hope society does collapse at some point so we can weed out some of these idiots.
  6. Whats your take? Lets say you have thrown all the traditional early baits in textbook areas and cant produce a bite. What are you going to do next? Me personally, I am going to find the shallowest possible water that I can find in a hope that it will have water that may be well warmer than the rest. Probably going to throw a big jig and soak it. In the trout waters I fish during winter although you would think the pools would hold the fish they do not. You will find the fish stacked up in water so shallow at times that you can see backs out of the water and I am convinced they are after warmer water. If a trout that likes cold water would do that, surely a bass would right? I ask because not just me but a lot of guys are coming up empty around here. Spring is a month late compared to last year. My club was out for its second event yesterday on a well known lake and the entire club produced two short fish in 8 hours of fishing. I myself got to set at my desk and after hearing that yet AGAIN this spring I am glad I saved my time. With that said, to gain an edge you really have got to master cold water in the NE because like it or not, you will encounter it. The other alternative would be a float and fly for me, a rig I have not yet tried.

I did something similar recently. I went to step out of the boat, missed the fender step and hung the back of my leg between the throttle and steering wheel with all my weight.
  8. Agree 2's are VERY big trebbles
  9. Looks like you had a blast. I fish a lake with wipers, in fact the state record 50+ came out of it but I have only ever caught 1 and it was no bigger than a normal bass.
  10. Yep, my first ever sponsorship came from me creating tutorials online. Sponsors can also come from many places. I work for a university, I approached said university with an opportunity to sponsor our bass club. They sponsor us, get their name out locally and a link from our side, a win for both. My point with that last sentence is you dont have to be fishing related to be a fishing sponsor. Look at the pros, heck look at my clubs sponsors.
  11. Sixth paragraph, first sentence, typo... fyi

  13. The micros are where its at for me I have a three arm micro with three of the smallest sick fish made on it. Doesnt even weigh an ounce.
  14. Its not just the finish you are buying with more expensive baits. Its things like weight transfer, tungesten inside rather than steel, better fitment of the halves....
  15. Stored at my mothers, in the driveway, just go get it when I want.
  16. I dont get Ish's big following, he does terrible more times then he does well. 2013 Okeechobee - 94th Lewis Smith - 85th
  17. If the water is 75 I would be on the dark side looking for a topwater bite at or before daybreak
  18. $190 worth of senkos? Holy smokes, take a lifetime to use
  19. Thats almost pink. Be neat to see a bunch of different options.
  20. Depends on the water temps, if theyre cool, yeah that side will be the best first, if its hot in the summer and the water is like 75-80 at night then the shade side will be ready first.
  21. GO on this thread and read. Read about where they found the fish and why. Think about the lake you fish and how you can apply it. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/41658-so-yall-want-to-learn-toledo-bend/ Then, contact someone on that thread, offer to pay for gas, baits, whatever so they will take you out here and there. You have facebook? Make a post on there you need bass fishing help. Surely one of your friends has it bad for bass or you have a female friend who has a dad who is or a woman who has a husband who is.... you gotta go lookn.
  22. Im guessing they were fishing jerkbaits, a-rigs or rattletraps You fished none of those three KEY springtime baits
  23. In a round pond... search for a shallow spot, its usually not a bowl even though it appears that way, one end will be more shallow.
  24. Correct, the water temps will come up much faster in the ponds in a hurry. Rivers get snow run off which keeps them cool but that can end abruptly, the creeks/rivers feed into the lakes which then add depth and keep it cooler even longer.
