Bws On Lake Tenkiller Brrrrrrrrr
You should probably own your own weigh in bag. They have extras more likely than not for those who have theirs break or something. This weather sucks. When are you going to fish your boat or did you buy it to look at it

What's The Word With The Dean Rojas/alton Jones Beef?
So you can now claim a mile long stretch of river as yours for an entire 4 days? Thats news to me, I thought it was whoever got there first every day. If he spilled the beans as to where he was catching fish, shame on him. Loose lips sink ships.

Just Tore Down The New Bps Bionic Baitcast
I have not had my PQ open yet. I just got one of those for christmas. I only flushed the bearings of it I didnt open the gear side. I opened the gear side on this one cause time is on my side, I dont have a rod for it yet. So, I cant compare the internals, you really cant go wrong for the price. The PQ sideplate button is definitely a more solid system than on the bionic. They both have the dual brake system, I think the PQ has six centrifical where the bionic only has 4. The PQ seems more solid but this reel having an aluminum frame, drilled spool, dual brakes is not far behind. When you can get them for $60 Ill buy them every chance I get.

Just Tore Down The New Bps Bionic Baitcast
I bought the reel by itself, on sale right now for $60. Before I go any further, I would buy another one this moment if I had an extra $60 but my fishn funds are low at the moment. The reel itself, very easy to service, no little clicker pins in the external drag disc like in the shimano curado. Entire clicker comes off as basically three washers and an assembly. Inside, flooded with grease but I have seen worse. Not complex at all whats going on in there if you have ever seen the inside of baitcaster. Felt in the drag which I may upgrade someday. The cover to get to the levelwind pawl is held on by three tiny screws, not behind e-clips. Overall, I am impressed with how this reel was built. The internals were all very highly polished, no need to do that yourself. Stripped out all their grease and oils. Greased the internals with purple cals and the bearings with hot sauce. Dont even have a rod to fish it yet but like I said, quality to price, looks pretty good to me.

New Competition For Basspro And Cabelas?
I submitted a resume before in regards to a part time position in the lodge. I have torn bows down to individual parts and rebuilt them, plus all the fishing experience, never even had an email.

The Great Lure Trade Thread... Trade One 4 One
Ive seen this done with broadheads on archery sites. A way for guys to swap stuff they arent using for stuff they would like to try. Heres how it works 1: Post a Lure (soft, hard, handmade) that you would like to trade 2: State a lure that you would like to get in return for your lure When someone wants to do the deal. They contact you via private message. You send them your lure, they send you their lure, each person pays only the cost of shipping to the other person, no other money involved. You can also say that you are open to ideas without listing a specific lure you want in return. If your lure is expensive, lets take for example a megabass 110 and you wanna try the rage tail line. You could say you want a couple packs of softbaits for one lure. Ill start to show you how it works. You add your lure at anytime you want, it might take months till someone wants a swap, it might take minutes. You can add as many as you want. A picture also helps if you have one. I dont have a pic of this lure at the moment as I am at home and my boat lives at my parents. Example and to start things off, this is a real offer... I would like to trade a White with Red Head segmented jitterbug with upgraded hooks and split rings for a wake bait of some type. This jitterbug is the two hook model, not three.

Mountainhouse granola with blueberries and milk is aweseome. was eating that at the top of the mountain opening day of rifle season this year. Thought I had everyone licked by getn there early. Some guy came over the top via private land and a badboy buggy at daybreak

Any Pa People Go Out Yet Or Planning To?
I opted not to go after what I saw yesterday. We did horrible on the river and I assumed Raystown would be just as bad if not worse.

Greasing Hubs
If you keep pumping grease into hubs via these ezlube axles and bearing buddies you will eventually blow the rear seal. Make sure you get double lip seals not single. Pack the bearings, fill the hub a little, go for a drive, come back, pop the cap and fill it a little more, seal it up then forget it till you go to repack bearings the following year or two. If you look in and your grease looks bad its time to repack. Flushing is a bad practice.

New Competition For Basspro And Cabelas?
I dont understand opening these big stores in major cities. Do that many outdoor enthusiasts live in major cites? I simply dont see that going hand in hand with an outdoor lifestyle. The city drives me insane. I always wondered why they choose the locations they do. Lets look at bass pro and cabelas within pa. Both, in the south east corner of the state. The majority of the recreation is found in the north central and north west portion of the state. If I was in charge at one of those corps. I wouldve put mine right smack in the center of the state. Equal driving distance for everyone. Or better yet, I wouldve opened bass pro on the way to Lake Erie or Raystown. Epicenters of fishing! Im sure they choose locations based on traffic but when the bass pro isles are empty in except for sales days something is wrong. If you wouldve put that bass pro at raystown it wouldve been a sure thing it wouldve been full from Apr->October almost daily.

Skunked On The Susquehanna Today
I know that with our good electronics we never even marked a fish. Now, does that mean they are gone or were they up under ledges and stuff. I fished every level of the water column from one side to the other in both rivers. I fished classic places for fish to hold in river situations, behind bridge pilings, big bolders(when I could get at one drifting 1000mph). I couldnt hold position for a second in the west branch. In the north branch I could set the tm on about 70 and drift very slowly but then we would often get hung up. I tried everything from jerkbaits to deadsticked weightless senkos....inline spinners...hair jigs. NADA

Crazy Crazy Crazy, Pic Inside
Gonna need a bigger bait. Our DCNR found a state record musky floating a couple of summers ago. 50+" it was choking on a 20" bass and died. Inside it had an 8lb carp and half a dozen gills and was still going at it.

Skunked On The Susquehanna Today
My bass club thought we could get a jump on the season even regardless of the temps PA has been having. We fished where the north branch and the west branch meet. Shickillemy State Park. 3 boats, six bass enthusiasts, we never had a bite. 6 hours of fishing and not one boat even marked a fish. The fiber dam isnt inflated and that water is RIPPING fast. I went up around to the top of the island, my partner got a chatterbait stuck. I had my 55lb TM on 100 and couldnt make up enough ground to get back to it in an aluminum boat. I was actually losing ground. The north branch was muddy, the west branch clear as a crystal. We threw everything under the sun from every angle and every presentation and couldnt even get a look. Back home now, decided I am not donating money tomorrow. Didnt see another boat catch a fish either. My club has dropped all events for at least two weeks. Water temp: 38 and so fast you could drift 1000 yards in about a minute. Was an adventure getting back on the trailer. If you were thinking about the susquehanna, give it a couple weeks, its TERRIBLE right now.

When To Move On?
See I am the opposite, I dont want to hit the active ones till last if possible. Lots of time with the fly rod showed me that if you try to pick off the sattelites that soon the big one gets weary. All that commotion of fighting fish puts the big ones down quick. They dont get big by being dumb.

Home Defense And Collateral Damage
Castle Doctrine in PA. Ruger .380 LCP with a crimson trace in a biolock lock box right next the bed. Lay my hand on it, time for business.

When To Move On?
An older guy in my club will sit on a spot all day for a 15 minute bite. That bite can vary day by day. He said last summer he sat at this one spot which is an old road bed pipe on a creek channel into the main lake. When he first figured them out it was an hour before weigh in. Every day they showed up 10 mins later till it got to a point where he couldnt catch them in time to weigh them. Me personally I dont have that much patience but if you see fish, or know fish are usually there its only a matter of time. They have got to eat.
