I don't own any of the Quantum Tour Crankin' rods but I would say that it can probably handle 1/2 lipless cranks, however I personally wouldn't use them on it. A crankbait rod has a slow action, when fishing lipless cranks, you need to be able to rip them out of grass and whatnot. I personally prefer a faster action rod for that application. Some guys may disagree but I like my lipless crank rods to have a faster tip.

Hey guys, I just got in my order of Lake Fork Tackle Magic Shads and Sworming Hornet heads spins and head shakers. I'm planning on using them for smallmouth this summer. The river usually gets a really good spinnerbait bite on during the summer but the problem is, everybody is throwing them so its hard to show them something different. I'm thinking that the magic shad/sworming hornet combo will give the bass a similar look to the spinnerbait, but it will also offer them a more realistic baitfish profile. My question is... how big do you think I can go in regards to the size of the magic shad. I want to go as big as possible without being to big for the fish. Obviously the 8" size is too big but do you think the 5.5" size might produce, if not would the 4.5" be better. I'm targeting 4lb+ smallmouth so I want to give them a big profile without being excessive. Any opinions? Anybody use the magic shad/sworming hornet combo before? Wait, so you want a new reel that is 6.3:1? Then that is an easy decision: the Citica is a 6.2:1 and the Curados are only offered in 5.0:1 and 7.0:1 Sorry, looking at it now my post wasn't clear. I know that curados aren't offered in 6.3:1, I'm not trying to choose between a curado and a citica, I was just wondering how citicas compare to curados quality wise. If citicas aren't on the same level as far as quality, then I will get a higher end 6.3:1 reel. Also to clarify, I'm interested in a comparison between the 2009 model curados and citicas. I should have mentioned that.

There are new Citicas on ebay for $99 with free shipping. The buyer has very good ratings. I have ordered five or six reels off of ebay with in the past year and I haven't had any problems.

My gun club is having some construction done so there is a porta-potty on the grounds for the construction workers to use. The company that cleans the porta-potty is called Advanced Septic Systems... I told one of the guys I shoot with that Advanced Septic Systems should start a spin-off company called Septic Holdings Industrial Technologies. That way, their slogan can be: Advanced Septic Systems, the maker of Septic Holdings Industrial Technologies. I Love Acronyms...

It is my honest opinion that any amateur level angler, not a fellow professional, who thinks they could hang with KVD on most days (not an I-Can-Do-No-Wrong kind of day) on a neutral body of water, if he was limited to the specifications of the original post is on crack. A zebco reel is not that big of a limitation for someone of his caliber. You may think you could give him a beat down as you sit comfortably at your computer but the reality is, on the water, very few average anglers would have a shot. He's on another level.

If it truly was 24" it was probably bigger than you realized. A 24" 5lb is one skinny fish IMO, either way nice catch!

I've been tossing around the idea of getting a new citica because I want to add another 6.3:1 to my arsenal. I ordered two curados a month ago and I absolutely love them. How do citicas compare quality wise to curados?

Last weekend at a tournament, my boater had me drop him off to get the truck and he wanted me to use the trolling motor to take it over to the marina and tie off. The red indicator arrow on the top of his motor wasn't on in the right direction and in an attempt to reverse, I went forward at full speed right into a sailboat... that was fun...

;D ;D ;D If its broken it will be from California or Mexico. IMO Texas doesn't have much of a shot and Florida doesn't have a shot at all, unless its a complete fluke.

I haven't fished with any of the new XTs but I have some of the old presidents and they're awesome reels for the money.
