  1. x2 I keep a single MH baitcast setup for large spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and heavy jigs. Everything else is done on spinning gear, with the majority of my soft plastics being thrown on a 6'8" MXF BPS Carbonlite and Pflueger Supreme XT or 7'M Browning HiPower and Ryobi Zauber, both spooled with hi-viz yellow 20# or 30# braid.
  2. I owned the Arbor, President, and President XT all at the same time and in terms of function, there isn't $.05 difference from one to another. Just choose the lightest one with the line capacity you're looking for.
  3. I've been eyeballing the new Carbonlite spinning reel as well. I've got a 6'9" ML Carbonlite sitting here in need of a new reel...
  4. I'm sure they do, but I'd rather not have to find out first hand. I guess my situation may be a bit different than some of the other members here since I have BPS, DSG, and Academy within 20 minutes of the house. Unless WM is selling them at a substantial discount (and they're not), I have no reason to buy my rods there.
  5. I wouldn't buy a $100+ rod at WM. Just think of how many slack-jawed mouth breathers have messed with it, tapped the tip (and the blank) on the shelves, rubbed the tip on the floor, etc to test the sensitivity, and how many times it has fallen out of the crappy racks they keep them in. Thanks, but I'll pass.
  6. I've been using this name since the mid-nineties when the wife and I set up our first email account on Juno. It's the first three letters of my name and the first four of my wife's name. It's been my user name on every forum I've been on since then, and just about every email address I've ever had has been stasher1@____________....with the exception of my student email account(s).
  7. I was thinking the same thing. My in-laws (all of them) are fantastic, and I enjoy spending time with them.

Many (most) of the local gyms use a third-party credit card processing service to handle their membership dues, and they're just as hard to deal with as Gold's Gym. Been there, done that. Google "ASF International" and you'll find tons of complaints. After I canceled my membership I made it a point to call the owner of the gym I used to go to and tell him how much I loved working out there, and that I'd love to come back once I get back to work and have a steady income again, but it will never happen as long as he's using ASF to process his payments.
  9. Exactly. How many folks here stocked up on Curado D's or E's, with no intentions of ever using them?
  10. I have a 6'6" MH spinning setup that I use for jigs, t-rigs, and spinnerbaits...mostly at night. I use a baitcaster for spinnerbaits and heavier jigs during the day, but I backlash the crap out of them in the dark.
  11. I love the midnight trips to the grocery/department store. That's when all of the weirdos come out. Of course, I have a half dozen Walmarts within 20 minutes of here, and probably twice that many 24 hour grocery stores. That's one of the few perks of living in suburbia.
  12. My wife had her debit card info swiped by an employee at Applebee's a few years ago. She used her card to pay for our meals, and by the time we got home, the waitress (or another employee) had already used her info to buy a $400 camera online. Luckily my wife keeps a close eye on our accounts (and my spending ), and was able to have it taken care of the very next day and new cards issued.
  13. I'd love to help you, but even after 3.5 years of Spanish in high school, my Spanish-speaking ability has become rather pitiful. I can only remember two phrases off the top of my head, and I'm reasonably sure neither would be acceptable in your speech. Tu madre es buena en cama. Dos cervezas por favor.
  14. I think it really depends on what lures you intend to use. Ugly Sticks make decent crankbait rods and they're great for catfish and panfish, but they lack the sensitivity for most bass fishing techniques. If you tell us your price range I'm sure quite you'll get a ton of recommendations for suitable alternatives.
  15. Not bad, but I much prefer this one...
  16. PMI is nothing to sneeze at, either. For some people, it can be the difference between being able to afford a house or not being able to afford it. PMI on a 30 year mortgage of $97K @ 5.5% ($100K - 3% downpayment) amounts to almost another $100 a month on top of your house note. http://www.goodmortgage.com/Calculators/PMI.html
  17. Have you already talked to your bank/mortgage company to see how much you're qualified for, or are you just looking at houses in a price range that you think you can afford?
  18. If you're in the Atlanta area I have a couple BPS Carbonlite rods (6'6" MH spinning and 7' M casting) that I'm not using and would part with fairly cheap. I'd let the pair go for $100.
  19. X2, especially if you're going to take him trail running on a regular basis.
  20. I reeled in a pair of boxers a couple months ago on a lipless crank. Now, I can only think of a few reasons why a grown man would shed their underwear in the lake...and none of them are pleasant.
  21. They call it "The American Dream" for a reason.
  22. I LOL'd. It looks like a hedgehog.
  23. I drive an older Accent (2001) because most of the time it's just me and my 4 yr old riding in it, and the stupid little thing gets ~40 mpg around town while my Suburban gets 15. I drove it from here to Bracy, VA a few months ago with a 16' canoe strapped to the roof and still got 39 mpg. Also, like Fish Chris, I like the fact that I can park it anywhere and not worry.
  24. Ummm...no. Don't expect the boss to show you anything more than how to get to the break room. It sounds to me like you dropped the ball and should've taken a course on Access prior to signing up for this class. The school I go to actually requires ALL incoming freshmen to take a computer course that covers the majority of programs you're likely to need during you're time at the school, and anything not covered in this course would be available as a seperate course and outlined in your student handbook. You signed up for an accounting class, not a computer class. It's not the professor's responsibility to prepare you for his/her course. That's your responsibility, with guidance from your advisor.
  25. x2 I told the financial aid office flat-out that I couldn't qualify for anything besides loan due to my wife's income, but they made me go through it anyway. It's all part of the application process.
