  1. Because i like to make my own rigs and baits when i can and these looked like something easily made at home. Not trying to save money but its nice not having to rely on ordering something online doing it yourself also can let you change certain parts of it to work better for you.
  2. anyone make there own wiggle rig? what would be something i could use for the stretch part? i think a rubber band would break easily
  3. This? or http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0030130119764a&navCount=3&podId=0030130&parentId=cat20344&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat20166-cat20344&catalogCode=2UG&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20344&hasJS=true This?
  4. Does anyone know of a good bluegill or sunfish swimjig or a skirt the is bluegill colored? I want something like this http://www.***.com/descpageREVSPIN-RSBG.html but in a swimjig or just a jig, anyone know of some good swimjigs with a pattern like that?
  5. That bait would probably be fine i like the baits like the big hammer or the powerbait saltwater swimshad.
  6. looks like the hook in this, could also be the owner http://www.***.com/descpage-SWHW.html
  7. Bass still do go shallow under the ice too maybe not as much but i have seen it. Most people dont target them in the winter around here more walleye, pike, panfish. but i have seen some nice ones through the ice usually on very small bait
  8. some reels do but most of the low profile reels i have used don't. On some round reels there is an option to let it take line and click more for if you are using livebait and want to let the line go out and hear you have a fish
  9. Its not too big but i might go to a 3-4 in one to start with if you want to catch numbers
  10. not to hijack the thread but how do you melt used worms? Preferably using household stuff? If you can
  11. Thanks for the compliments and here is a link to a video of an unfinished one and this one but the video of the finished one you can see it as well as the unfinished white one. http://s289.photobucket.com/albums/ll233/ebbyI23/?action=view&current=000_0016.flv
  12. Where is a good place to get weather related to fishing? I want something that lets me look at the past week of weather with temps pressure that kind of stuff and gives a good forecast for the next couple days with the same pressure temp precip ect. I have looked around but a lot of them don't show pressure in the forecast or only let you look at the temp for the past couple days and it doesn't give much other info in the past parts. Anyone know of a good place?
  13. Here is a new one i have been working on it is a slow sink and about 4 inches. What do you think? I should have another one like it with a different pattern on it done in a week or two. sorry for the blurry pics ill try to get some better ones of the next one.
  14. i have some of matts lures true his look nice and fancy and hats off to him and his talent, but also remember he aint the only guy out there doing this.I have had custom made swimabaits for me from peeps off swimbaitnation that i have compaired to his and some look identical or better for cheaper.not dissin just try'n to help ya save a buck or 2,we all need it these days. matts don't just look good they perform and catch fish, customs are options to but i haven't seen any that look as good as his for the same price or less there are some good ones and yes i have seen many customs that are great but nothing compares. If you have found some that are close i would like to see them because im always looking for a good lure.
  15. you wont find a bluegill bait that looks better than matts or swims better it is well worth the money. be sure to look on matts site he has some colors not offered on other sites like tw.
  16. i found a picture of this lure in a bass master book and dont know who makes it. Anyone know what it is? it is the tail color all the way through the middle looks white because of the flash
  17. 5/0 is good and i get the ones that are not wide gap
  18. http://www.delonglures.com/snake--green-pumpkin.html this one is pretty big but i dont think it is the one you are thinking of, and i think i have seen the one your talking about on the net- maybe like janns or barlows one of those sites but i cant seem to find it

nope this is called a flat rap, it is long and skinny with flat sides
  20. fireline is great in weeds it cuts right through them and i have never had a problem but in really thick stuff where you are pulling the fish and its house in you might want to go to a higher lb test and i don't like the heavier fireline so i use power pro for heavier line. i also only use fireline on my spinning gear and its the best line i have used for spinning gear and i have complete faith in it.
  21. Mn laws say you can only use one lure so this set up would be illegal

Was looking at the new infisherman and there are some new rapalas coming out. One is a minnow style bait looks kinda like a x-rap with flat sides and a triangle lip. The other two are trolls to minnow and shad both come in 15 and 20 ft models
  23. i have something called a power zap that is made for fixing plastics and cutting line- it works great is is about 20 bucks. before that i would just bring all the tore ones home and welt them back by heating up a paper clip and using that to melt them together
  24. Mattlures.
