Good job on the pb, now go do it again.
  2. For me the lighter 1000 was hard to balance with my bass rods.
  3. Rat L Trap
  4. I kept one for many years, well worth the time and effort.
  5. Fishing is much cheaper than a psychiatrist
  6. Congrats, especially froggin with nanofil.
  7. Did the same thing a couple years ago on a new NRX(before it snapped) Congrats on your PB and hope you have better luck with your *** than i did with the NRX
  8. Haven't used ish,but have used spro for many years. The Booyah pad crasher appears to be a much better frog than the spro. Last MUCH longer and is Much less expensive than spro. Now I'll have to try an ish.
  9. Many years ago I sacrificed catching many fish on senko and started fishing a jig. I learned how the jig felt and acted as I brought it through a variety of situations without a fish on it. Then I learn that if I witnessed any anomaly to that feel or line movement, that there was a good chance a bass was involved and I set the hook. It takes time and patience, but well worth the effort.
  10. Near Boise ID. in the last 60days or so, only two days in the high 80's the rest have been 90's to 110, and we're pretty far north.
  11. I was a young boy sitting on a dock. I man was fishing near by and caught a big fish on a plastic worm. I said "hey mister how do you work them" The nice man threw me a pack of worms and said "you don't work them, they work for you" but for the life of me I can't remember what the worms were called.
  12. The booyah and spro walk very easily on slack line, but most of my bass this year have been on a straighter retreive. Also stop the frog periodically, sometimes it triggers a hit. BTW I do all my froggin with a baitcaster.
  13. Even when they're not biting, you can still learn things from throwing a jig.
  14. Fat Albert twin tails
  15. gotta love it Congrats
  16. This year the the pads are thin to non- existent on top. I''ve been catching them in weeded areas, but for the most part, little to no matting on top. Earlier this year the spro frog seemed to tear up much quicker in similar conditions.
  17. First buy the best reel you can afford, that will help. I would start out with 65# braid (and a leader if needed) . Braid is a lot easier to pick out the birds nest which you are sure to get. Maybe start with a heavier weight lure, properly adjust the reel for the weight and practice, practice ,practice, even before you go out fishing. Learning to use a b/c will ultimately increase your abilities and enjoyment I beleive. Shimano Citica is a good reel for about that price.
  18. Don't give up on a b/c. Buy a good high quality reel and spool it with 65# braid to start out, adjust it and practice.practice,practice.
  19. UPDATE just caught about 20 more on the Booyah Pad Crasher. That makes it close to 100 bass on one frog and it still looks great.
  20. SHRINK TUBING !!!! best way to go.
  21. I have used spro for many years and with much success. This year I tried a padcrasher popper, mainly because of the much lower price. I still need more time, but i am very impressed with the pad crasher. They seem to be more durable and I have not suffered anything on the hooksets. At present I've caught about 80 fish on my first pad crasher. many of them in the 2-3# range 5# being the largest. Spro might have lost a long time customer.
  22. Always good to hear the opinion of one that has actually used both rods.
