Warm Water Out of Motor
Thanks- had a guy look at the engine tonight, and said that hot water "was not good". I don't know all there is, but told him I have never had a problem. I was a bit taken back by his comments, but I am no engine guy, and am not super educated about their workings. I have never felt the stream of water while running on a lake, and never was inclined to. Your responses have helped me "mentally". Sometime words can get you thinking bad stuff. You guys helped a lot! He may not know all there is, seeing your responses. Thanks a TON- Jamie

Warm Water Out of Motor
Threw earmuffs/baffle covers on the motor with the hose and had water spitting out in the regular place. The water was hot, and a guy commented that it must be a water pump issue. Could it be that the boat was out in the 90 degree weather all day, and the motor was just warm from that. I have never had any problems with the spit water coming out. Now I am second guessing my boat? I am hoping that the motor being hot (in sun) all day was what warmed the water, and even caused the water flowing through to be a bit warm. Thoughts? I have NEVER had a problem with the motor, or the water cooling EVER! The water trickled out, then began it's normal flow. I suggested too, that those ears, don't have near as much suction as being in the water, and it is not a real good indicator ---like being in the lake with the boat running, nor is it a good thing to do outside the water. Thoughts?

Bobcat at Champlain
Yeah, buddy said he sat there for about 2-3 minutes just patting the water for something. I have never seen a Bobcat myself, but would love to.

Bobcat at Champlain
Buddy was fishing a few weeks ago, and this cat came out, sat on a log, and was batting the water for fish. Cool pic, little blurry, but still neat. Enjoy. Pretty sure it was on the Vermont side of the Lake, down South near Ticonderoga.

What time are you on the water? Eastern Time Zone.
Before 5 am right now. I am an early riser, so early is easy for me.

Run across the lawn???
Grass...with the occasional bass, but the picking/cutting it off was well worth the memories.
-
Run across the lawn???
It was sick, and I couldn't wait to get back the next day. The hits were every couple of minutes, but they were awesome. My 4-4 struck right at the boat, and nearly scare the day lights out of me. But it was a nice fish. Here it is, not the biggest, but a great fish for me.

Run across the lawn???
We used the wind to drift us across the mats, then we'd run around and do it again, just to one side or another. We had the big motor up, and the trolling motor acted as a drift sock. At the end of the drift (when pic was taken)- I pulled up the trolling motor, and used Fiskar Scissors to cut the Chestnuts off the motor. If we weren't hitting 3-4 bass per drift, I would have said "heck with that", but bass, and pike were coming up to hit our frogs. We had one pike missile out of the water 6 times on 6 cast...rather pull in a bass, but the pike sure gave us a fun time too. Biggest we got were a 5-3, and a 4-4. Could Probably do 20-25 lbs here if you methodically worked it. Long run down from Plattsburgh. PCE Here's another pic for your enjoyment. It was amazing to see all the frog trails after we had covered and area.

Run across the lawn???
This is a huge mat of Water Chestnuts up at Lake Champlain, thought I'd share the pic with all of you. The shirt is a past track team shirt for our middle school...I borrowed someone's saying...Mike Someone???? I though all fisherman might enjoy this, not just those in the Northeast...THX! Not kowing much about Water Chestnuts...boy are they nasty with those little sharp black pods. I brought a few home to remind me of the trip. If you don't know what I am talking about, check out this link. They are avery invasive plant, and they actually MOW the Lake To get rid of them. I remember a few years back, Steve Kennedy said he was on fish, but his best spot got mowed!!!! OUCH! Enjoy- http://nature.lohudblogs.com/files/2008/04/chestnut2.jpg Jamie

Lets talk buzz baits
Tie on, throw, sploosh! End of story. I am at the lower end to have so many different levels of Buzzers. Walmart out of the box (Strike Kings) have never let me down. Add on a d trailer hook, and wham...killer lure!!! (oh no...trailer hook debate coming I presume.....???)
-
backlash waiting to happen?
Check your knob that adjusts the rate of fall of the lure. If it seems like the spool is turning fast, turn it back a little at a time, and cast a few, this might help. If that doesn't work, then maybe take off the line, and try again, if all else fails, have it done by a local shop. Have done spooling line on myself often, and had no problems, even if put on looser. Sounds like finesse control knob issues. You'll get er' right. Good Luck. Berkley makes a cool line spooler, and it works great. Here's a picture. They sell at Bass Pro and Cabelas.

Catch and Release?
If I wanted bickering and arguing all the time, I'd watch Jon and Kate Plus 8. (pretty clever response if I do say so...) Debate AWAY!
-
Catch and Release?
Bass are good eating, but I don't keep any any more since I have been a more educated fisherman. If you want to keep a fish for eating, that's your right...end of story. Guys here need to chill, and act like gentlemen. If you can't debate without getting all puffed up, then in my opinion, stay out of the conversation. CHILL OUT! This is supposed to be a forum to share ideas, and come together, not rip each other down. That's my 2 cents. Good Fishing...

Lets talk buzz baits
Never heard of them, I'll check them out too. THX

Lets talk buzz baits
Over rated and over priced in my opinion. Caught just as many on a Walmart Strike King out of the box. Average angler here, fish tournies and get out pretty often. Have fished a few Cavitrons, and no noticable difference in catch rates. They both catch fish, but for the ability to but 2 for the price of one, Strike Kings at Walmart get my vote. I am sure unpopular, but when you're on a budget...if it catches bass most times out...then it's the bait for me. I use the Chartreuse and Red bleeder hook, or the white. I have never had a problem with my reels getting the bait to run smooth, or at a good speed. Let all the haters join in...it's cool. Whatever you have confidence in, is what YOU should be throwing.

Got a keeper! 9lbs 15oz! (pic)

organizing plastics and spinnerbaits?
I bought a scrap booking organizer at Walmart, and it has small compartments that I classify into lizards, worms, etc. Before each trip, I just pull a few bags of each, and that's it. This organizer has a great handle, and is pretty cool. If I fill it up, I know I have way too many plastics.

my boat

I just thought this was kind of funny :-)
What a nice looking fish in your avitar. What was the weight on that one? I doubt she'll be hitting your spots, but who knows..would be a funny site to see. Pulling up, and she's railing them, and tells you to back off her spot!

Bass For Christ-Tournament- July 18th 2009 - Lake Nockamixon, Pa.
Just wanted to let guys/gals know that I will be hosting a "Bass for Christ" fishing tournament at Lake Nockamixon, in Bucks County Pa. Date is Saturday July 18th at the Tohickon Ramp (first light registration 4am). Top 5 places will be paid, as well as Top Lunker. Fee is $60.00 per boat, which includes the Lunker fee already. Not here to chat about Religion, just a heads up for a tournament. If you are interested, I can send you the registration PDF form. If not, thanks for looking. Never ran a tournament, but have just purchased a great scale, have seen good ideas from past tournaments, and I have a good support staff. All I need now are anglers, and fish to weigh. Thanks for the Look, Jamie I placed this in the Northeast section, because that's where most would see it. Thanks for your help.
