What would you do in this situation?
Sounds to me like the heat is getting to some people. Seriously in this day and age if you go to fists nothing will be solved. Next time call the police if he is trespassing. Your friend should feel lucky he did not land in jail.

I own a Nitro, for big water I would go with a Lund.

I Saw Catt on TV Tonight!
In that situation it is best to keep your eyes on the field, much like needing to dodge a foul ball. Boy that man is ugly. Way to go LSU

favorite lures for chub
It is the same one that Speedbead refers to. I just seen then get larger then the 12 inch length they claim. I have seen some of th local folks in N. Wisconsin smoke some up to about 16 inches long. I know a 58" Musky can eat something that big but not many. Used as bait we would generally use 6-8 inches for Musky and Pike. They taste quite good smoked.

Need advice on fishing theses conditions
The conditions you describe do not necessarily mean adverse conditions. The water temperature if stable is agreeable, I take it you are in the north. Bass should still be a transition period. Some pre-spawn and some post spawn. You need to address the characteristics of the lake and how the bass may relate based on these conditions. When you state the water is stained is that normal or due to heavy runoff? If normal no problem especially with bluebird skies. More needs to be considered about the lake to find fish then just what is stated. Look more to the environment that the fish live in and less in your environment. I suspect you might be beating the bank, if so pull off for the post spawn bite especially as the sun rises. If you can describe the lake more maybe better advise can be given.

favorite lures for chub
Chubs will get bigger then you think in the US, I know some folks in Wisconsin that smoke them. They are quite good to eat smoked. Based on the photo our Chubs are quite similar. Scales are a bit smaller. I really do not know how they are caught but I believe possible they are netted as they school much like shad I believe.

Owner vs Gamakatsu
I do use Owner but have used Gamakatsu when Owner was not available. Both are good I just prefer Owner as my hook up ratio is better. I have to add that I never lost a fish due to hook failure on either of these brands.

Problems with Braided line...
What test were you using? This will happen with the lower test more often. Also went playing a fish if your drag is very tight with lower test line it will dig into itself. Much less if you go up to at least 50- 65 lb test.

Best 2 Days I've ever had!
Wow Ken you have these lakes pegged. Does the Chain of Lakes have any tornaments on them? If so you should start tornament fishing. If need be it would be my pleasure to fish the back of the boat to clean up on whatever may be left.

Line Rating On Spinning Rods
A spinning reel does have a drag. The rod does bow and absorbs shock. I do not understand why 6 lb CXX will not land a lunker. I hooked into a 12 lb Striper with 6 lb CXX on a spinning outfit and landed the fish. Took some but it was landed. My fishing partner landed a 48 inch Musky with 8 lb XL on a spinning outfit. I landed this fish by hand due to not having a net. My point is if you play the fish, use the drag and rod a large fish can be landed. Not the preferred method but line is just part of the equation.

Not buying it.

even trade?
Yes except for St Croix Trade Up Program. I do not think Kistler does that. You may want to move up to an Avid.

I even had Cabelas match BPS prices.

Can't wait for E15
E for ethanol. Gas mileage is poor especially when towing. What I do not understand is where they will get the corn. I travelled a coule of weeks ago on business through Illinois, Missouri and Kansas, unbelievable how little corn they are growing this year.

Trimming the weed guard on a jig
Sometimes, it depends on the guard. I have also thinned them. When I do trim I will depress the gaurd to the hook and trim 1/4 inch above the point and thin from there.

Bass Pro Shop Pro Qualifier or 100 MPH bibs which one to choose??
I own a set of these insulated. Even used them ice fishing. Been in some real heavy cold rain and stayed warm and dry. They use the toughest velcro, will seal out anything. I bought mine on sale a couple of years ago 40% off in the Bargain Cave. They are a bit expensive but at 40% off I had to try them. No experience with any BPS brands but this is a good alternative.
