What is your favorite combination of fishing conditions?
I like a normal barometer, slight breeze and about partly or mostly cloudy. I aslo like when it goes from a sky full of clouds to a bluebird really sunny sky. That seems to get a real nice evening topwater bite going. But fish are fish and they could be going on a feeding frenzy sometimes when we think they will be curled up in a ball. And our favorite conditions could fail us faster than we could comprehend. We just dont know.

Early summer tips?
Thats a nice lake. Its got some nice points so fish some of those with crankbaits and plastics. Also see what type of structure comes of that island. I can garentee that the island will be a hotspot for summer bass. Look for dropoffs that come of it. Another thing I noticed was some docks. Fish those senkos near them. There are some really nice docks and a lot of them actually. If I were you look around that island with crankbaits and those docks should be dynamite for early summer fishing. If there are any weeds then try frogs in those. Good luck, let us know how you do

Beetle Spin
Amazing in ponds and will catch a lot of smaller bass. They are also good in tough conditions.

Lake Champlain Blues
The first one is always the hardest. I dont know anything about champlain but my opinion is that if you feel youve fished most variable spots (cover, structure, different depths) then go out of the ordinary and see what you can get. Go really shallow, really deep, try some out of the ordinary lures. It may just take time. Let me know how you do.

If you could fish with any 2 anglers..Who? And Where?
I would love to fish with Kevin Vandam and Hank Parker on any lake in PA. I would like to learn from them and see how they would approach the lakes I fish.

carp and bass...
Im not sure but the presence of carp has never been a good sign when Im fishing. I have never caught a bass when a carp is close by meaning 10 feet or less. Just seems weird.

Need help own how to catch this pig
I have the same situation but throughout the whole year. I cant catch this pair of 6 pounders in a farm pond. Your best bet will be a bluegill but im not sure if I want to do that yet because I still want to try to catch one fairly (on a lure). Try a bluegill if you want, it will get her attention.

Farm Pond Trouble
Hey, I fish a series of farm ponds that I need some help with. Actually its a particular fish. This pond has a series of three ponds connected and you can only fish two. They are very small with a little weeds, one dock in the biggest pond and a total mud bottom. In the lowest, biggest pond, there is a pair of 5-6 pounders that are incredibly smart and own the pond. The pond is loaded with bluegill so they have as much forage as they want. In the past two years I have had them look at a frog twice, swipe at a crankbait, and nearly eat a bluegill I snagged and reeled in. I have pretty much figured out where they hang. I miday they are either deep on pine trees (10 feet) or in under the dock in the middle. You cant skip lures under the dock because it is attached to the shore but floats in the water. When the sun just starts to set, they roam the entire pond but pay no attention to lures. The boy who lives there caught the one bass a while back (maby 3 years) on a frog and he said it was around 4 pounds. Its been a goal to catch these bass but I cant seem to get there attention. Im open to suggestions on how to catch these big bass. Thanks for the replys

Color Selection Frogs....
I like all colors. Just match the water conditions.

NEW PB :)
Allright come on, give rob a break. Who gives a crap how long it was. If its a 9 pounder its a freakin pig bass. Its 9 pounds, on the scale, no matter how long it is. Sweet fish Rob!

Deep pond help
I fish a pond like this too. My best tip is to fish baits that look realistic. Clear water is good but a bass will detect any flaw in your lure. Use colors that are natural and realistic lures.

"Finesse" spinnerbaits
Yes mini kings work very well and they are on of the only lures that work on a high pressured lake. They are great to use when you want to use a spinnerbait and your fishing during a major cold front. You can just really downsize it and catch fish.

Pond fishing.
You cant beat any type of t rigged or wieghtless soft plastics with frogs in the summer.
-
shad filled lake...
Agreed, ignore the shad and fish your confidence baits. If it were me I would just make sure all the baits I used were white.

Stanley Or Rage Tail?
Havent tried either, and dont plan on it. Mann's Hardnose has satisfied me for life.
