  1. Throw a crankbait or some type of bait to get reaction strikes first for your limit then target the timber with that jig.
  2. Id say 12 inch girth, making it almost 3 pounds.
  3. If it Aint' Yum, its Dead.
  4. Does anyone replace their crankbait hooks with sureset hooks. I bought about a half a dozen of them because I knew I would use them for something. Would putting them on my strike king series 3 crankbaits help? What do you use sureset hooks with? Thanks everyone
  5. Stability is best. Normal pressure is 30.00, and anywhere close to that is when bass bite best. Between 29.90 and 30.10 is a good rule of thumb to go by. Sometimes when pressure drops significantly and quickly it can trigger a feeding frenzy also.
  6. When its that hot it just isnt fun. Just fish the hour or two before sunset when its slightly cooler.
  7. Personally I like the Rapala DT 16.
  8. I was watching the Bluegrass Brawl on saturday where everybody was crankbaiting. They showed Kevin Vandam's rod and how it is made for crankbaits with the soft tip and bend. Can you buy that anywhere and if not what is a good rod for big crankbaits. Thank you everyone
  9. Ya well had a friend try this and it works by a spring. Well the spring was way off....go figure :-? its a spring!
  10. They do get bigger but no chance do they fight harder. Especially since smallies dont get as big they fight very well. But because of the largemouths size I much prefer them over smallmouth. I also like the style of fishing for largemouths. You dont have to use little finesse plastics and grubs with jigheads or any of that stuff.
  11. It all depends on the food source. In a good lake I think maby 3 years.
  12. Lake Erie.... 4lbs 2oz
  13. Thats a good estimate
  14. Whether you have a weight or not if you get caught in grass just pop it out. Most worms are slender enough to do this and if the bass are down deep in grass you need a weight.
  15. Great post and I thank all too
  16. Ill say 8 pounds but pictures cant justify your catch.
  17. Maby they just were not getting it. You shouldve tried a different color. I also have days like this where they just are not inhaling it. Make sure you wait a few seconds before you set the hook, that is the most important part.
  18. Nice fish, and definetly give the watermelon ones some time. They will come and you will know it
  19. Fish in Presque Isle Bay and did ok. Just fished sandy and weedy flats in 3-4 feet of water and caught some there. Caught on white grubs and that was the only thing we could catch them on.
  20. Your not a bass fisherman if you use live bait. Period. ;D I still dont use it.
  21. Nothing better thans Mann's Swim Toad, just down right cant beat it.
  22. O my gosh thats an awesome day on frogs, nice bud!
  23. If you only have 4/0 hooks then pinch a little bit of the worm off to make the hook fit the worm better.
