Great fishing spot gone forever...
If its in a neighborhood it is almost certainly private property. I doubt a developer came in and said I want everything but where that little tank is. Land isn't sold that way. Futhermore, the HOA that you appear to think is nothing gets pretty hefty dues from everyone in the neighborhood for maintaining the pond and sub-division. With those dues comes the right to fish and allow whoever they want to fish the pond. I live in the exact kind of neighborhood you are talkin about. Now a few of my neighbors are different, but I will let anyone fish the pond whether they ask or not. However, I would prefer they ask. When I see someone up there I don't know I walk up and look for litter, coolers(for fish). If I see nothing alarming I walk of saying nothing. If they are nice and we have a little conversation typically I will tell them my name and say that a few of neighbors don't like anyone fishing up here, but as long as they don't keep fish or litter they can say they are my guest. So im wrong about the private property, but like mattm said he looks for coolers and litter and such. I never leave anything there and I always release the fish I catch. Most of the time I even know a few people personally who live in the neighborhood but they still like to kick innocent kids out. ;D

Great fishing spot gone forever...
Yea, but you can't trespass on private property, if that is why your getting kicked out. It sucks that allot of the places I see around here are on private property, I don't bother to ask them and just lick my chops at the thought of what I may catch there. You can always ask permission. It's not private property, most people just call it the homeowners association and tell me I cant fish there. Makes me mad

Sam's right. I get kicked out of some neighborhood ponds once in a while. I mean its kinda ridiculas because im a 14 year old whos just looking to catch a few fish. Some people actually have the nerve to yell at you and tell you to leave even though im just a kid. >

New Pond, What to Stock?
I read somewhere that you should stock bream the first year, and wait a year or two before you stock bass. This helps the bream population grow without many problems then the bass have a variety of different sized bream when they are stocked into the pond.

Question about my Revo S
Yes, take the plate off the side that doesnt have the handle.

Question about my Revo S
If it has a normal break system: Take off the side cover and push the collars in torward the center of the reel to make less resistance when casting. There should be six. Dont push all of them down but maybe 3 out of the 6. Thats what is on my reel. If it has a magnetic break system: There will be a dial on the side and you adjust that. I dont believe you can do anything on the inside if it has a magnetic break system.

Staging Areas
Can someone give me a list of "staging areas" that you could find in many lakes and big ponds. Im a bit rusty of what kind of structure/cover is most often used as staging places for prespawners.

Rod and Reel Help
Just for cranking , you don't need a rod with sensitivity or did you not realize that ? Sure you do, if your rod is as stiff as a crowbar then the crankbait won have the right action. If your rod doesnt have sensitivity for cranking then you wont know what your bouncing your crankbait off of and we all know that thats a great technique. If it doesnt have sensitivity you may not know your crankbait is hitting rocks or wood at all. And we wouldnt want that We're not using pool sticks , the rod I mentioned to him will do nicely for cranking. JMHO The best of luck to ya'

What are the odds on this outing?
Fish real fast, or real slow. Dont do an in between.

Rod and Reel Help
You get what you pay for. Do not buy a $40 rod. You will have limited sensitivity and it will not preform very well. BPS has good rods but neither of the two the gentlemen above are worth it in my mind.

Rod and Reel Help
The curado is a great reel. Quantum has some great high gear ratio reels such as the Energy and the Tour Edition. Those three reels would be a good place to choose from. As far as a rod, for my cranking I have a Quantum Energy PT. I really like it and for cranking it definetly satisfies me.

How to start bass fishing?
If the person has a good attention span then plastics will work, if they need to be kept occupied then give them some spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Thats what my buddy did who always needs to be moving.

Early Spring Help
Although the snow has just started to fall, im thinking about spring fishing already. This past year I had a tough time catching bass in March. I live in Pennsylvania and March is not to early to fish. Once April came around I started to catch bass but my question is on early spring fishing. Before they move up to the shallows what are some good ways to catch them. I mainly fish ponds during the early spring and I had a hard time getting any bites on a slow prestentation with a soft plastic. How slow do you guys fish before they come up to spawn or a few weeks after the ice go out? I was only able to pick up a few bass on a square billed crankbait and need some tips for soft plastics because thats my strong suit. Thanks for the help

My thoughts on hook sets and pegged unpegged weights
I understand where your coming from but we all have our points we want to prove. I think that a pegged sinker gives you a way better connection from your rod to the bait and then to the fish because the line becomes more taught and quicker when you set the hook. But in the end you shouldnt change your technique of pegging your weight or letting it slide just because of a theory about hook setting. Interesting topic
