I have not gone crazy but I do have a few expensive lures. I bought a Jackall Giron because it looks cool and to use during prespawn. I bought some sammies because they are more subtle than a spook and because I like the colors better. Also, I bought a few LC cranks because I really like the American shad design, which I have not found offered by less expensive manufacturers. I am so cautious about using the giron I think I am going to make it into a keychain ;D

I recently purchased a spool of evolution to try out and so far I am very pleased. This is my first experience with any line other than mono and I was concerned with how it would cast. I was pleased with the way it cast, the lack of stretch, , but was a little dissapointed by the high amount of memory. Anyone else have any thoughts on this line?

During the warmer months, snakes are a constant threat when I am fishing from the bank. There is one man that lets me fish his pond who shot 27 copperheads last April. He got well over 100 for the year. He got a few cotton mouths around 4' and a 5' rattler, too. If I am fishing from a boat and get hung up in the trees, I shake the branches VERY well before getting close to the branches to keep snakes from falling in the boat. It only takes once to learn that lesson. No problems with gators, yet.
