People on here tend to shy away from it. My dad caught some decent sized smallies using the system. The hooks rust after one use. Also use the fluke rigged like a banjo minnow gives it some nice action. As for the commercial how could you not want to buy them they caught fish every cast lol but so does Bill Dance...

Try facebook. I think all the young lads are using it these days.
  3. Geeze well good thing I fish from the shore , I'll just have to make sure my boots don't have any holes in them .
  4. Does the rods power or action have effect on the sensitivity? ie. If I were to have two identical types of rods but one was heavy while the other was a medium would either one be more sensitive. Also if one rod had extra fast action compared moderate would this make a difference? I know that action is where it bends on the rod and i would think the faster the action the more sensitive but not really sure. Thanks -Dylan
  5. The Spro frog. Floats has sharp hooks and some nice legs, comes in about 20 different colors.
  6. for bigger worms i like the straight shank hook, 4/O or 5/O

  8. Yeah id go with the BPS Crankin stick, looks nice
  9. those are some pretty lookin fish. Good Job!
  10. i just got a pack of 25 gammy round bend treble hooks, theyre sharp, they hurt alot when you try to put them on the split ring and miss. So i think theyll do just find
  11. Sweet once the weather warms a bit ill run that way and look for it. Thanks for the tip!
  12. i would just leave them in the bag but also put them into a box to help you organize where ones are.
  13. Id go with the subwart
  14. 1. Stronger by diameter, ie 20# test is similar to 6# Mono. 2. Suffix, Powerpro, XPS Mainly use it for heavy cover...jigs, frogs. You generally use a high test rating like 65# for really heavy cover like flippin hydrilla mats, also good for swimbaits. But it can be used for every application if you wanted. My dad was fishing with 6# braid on 1/8oz walleye jigs and it was working fine. Disadvantages are that it is highly visible and not as abrasion resistant as fluorocarbon also has no stretch which can be a disadvantage when fishing with crankbaits or topwater lures. Hopes that helps you a little bit
  15. Alright today i went and walked around in the canal (because its drained). Looks very promising, steep edges rocks, dead crawfish, found a couple lures , so this will make my spring a little better here at school.
  16. I am at SUNY brockport so if you said you caught some smallies there then i will go. I am glad to see someone that had caught fish there,
  17. Ok, Right now its drained and it looks good, deep with rocks all along the side as well as there is a few streams that come into it. So ill give it a shot
  18. Anybody know if erie canal has any good bass fishing, my college is like 100 yards away and it would be great to skip class to go fishing :-X
  19. Not to make anyone feel bad but i have had success with the banjo minnow, caught me a bunch of smallmouth and one weighing 4-5lbs. And that infomertial is so appealing i had to try them. Now lures that dont work...anything in my friends tacklebox ;D
  20. I've decided to buy a few of each and get the feel for which one i like better, or maybe different ones will work better in different conditions. So thanks to all you're a great help ;D
  21. IK a few companies sell pro staff jerseys for like $80 with their logo on it
  22. Havent decided yet, either upgrading my Plastics rod, or my crankbait rod. Leaning more towards Crankbait tho.
  23. I was fishing my pond last summer and one rod was rigged with a gammy and the other was rigged with the bass pro hook. I got snagged with the gammy and hook snap immediately, when i reeled in i was astonished, i wanted to see if they were really that weak so i grabbed my pliers and tried to bend it and it snapped again, so i tied on a bps hook and next time i got snagged i had to cut the 65# braid in order to get off, it just would not come loose, also many instances of me pulling in #50+ tree branches on an Basspro hook. Sure they might get dull after awhile, but you get 25 in a pack for $5 so just grab a new one and you're all good to go. So IMO they work fine and price is right...When in Rome.
  24. Alright looking to buy my first quality rod. I have yet to fish with a rod that is considered high quality so not really sure how much of a difference it makes. So before this season i wanna look into buying a decent rod (No G.Loomis"s...yet). Just started looking at a Few St. Croix, like the LT and Avid, also looking at the Quantums. The St. Croix seem like a better rod manufacturer, there rods look a little better and seem like they would be more sensitive. So if ayone has any opinions on the St Croix or any other rods in the price range of about $200 it would help greatly. Thanks -Dylan
  25. The rochester locals who go down to the pond catch about 15 tiny bluegill like 2-3" throw them in their bucket and then when they leave they decide they're not big enough and throw them back into the water...dead. Also when people leave the Styrofoam worm containers everywhere! Makes me real mad. >
