Tyler Hansbrough
Bogut is producing solid numbers for the bucks. He is no Melo or Amare Stoudamire but a nice big man for them. Morrison had a nice rookie season and has been injured all this year. I think both will develop into nice role players. Hansbrough should be fine with a heart and hustle mentality he has. Maybe not a 20 and 10 guy like he is in college but definitely getting some quality minutes somewhere in the league.

Poker anyone??
Someone should definitely bring a deck of cards on the 09 BassResource trip. We can all bet with grubs, creature baits, lizards, worms, and if your feeling exceptionally confident in your hand you may bet any high dollar crankbait or jig, haha. ;D

Clueless people and their views on "fishing"
I definitely agree that alot of us overthink things such as brand names, and etc.. but what I was getting at is that most people who think of fishing as dropping a line in the water underneath a bobber look at us as if we are crazy for having even 4 different rod and reel setups, a box full of traps, and 20 bags of worms regardless of brand. People seeing a box full o hooks of all different sizes regardless of brand really think we are losing it. LOL My said friend likes to fish but as I said mostly catfish which he sad he only plans to do occasionally from the boat as he bought it mainly just to run around the lake and have fun. But buying a BASS boat to him makes no sense even if you really like bass fishing because it is only good at one thing and has no room for other people, or to ski from ;D Like I said, those are the words to me anyway from a person who doesn't quite get fishing as much as we do.

Just Started Freshwater Fishing! Need some Pointers!
Where are you at in the country. Bass will be moving up with spring coming on from deep water and staging to eventually spawn. There are tons of articles on the site about pre spawn and spawn fishing. Keep reading, keep posting, and most importantly keep fishing. I would also recommend fishing some smaller lures on your pond at first until you start catching some fish to get used to the strikes and let you get some fish landed and under your belt. 2.5 or 3" curly tail grubs rigged on jigheads, beetlespins and Ardmore Roadrunners are great pond baits and will catch alot of nice bass. Sometimes scaling down your lures and fishing small is a great way to get started and catching fish. Good luck and Welcome!!

Clueless people and their views on "fishing"
Had a buddy I know very well buy an older model open bow ski-boat or runabout I guess you would call it. He was telling me over the phone about it and I jokingly said, you should save your money and put a nice fish finder on it. He then said fishfinders are a waste of money and proceeded to tell me why would he buy a fishfinder. Will it tell him the exact bait that the fish wants to eat that is being shown on it!!! LOL I can't imagine trying to explain to him why using a fast action graphite rod is not the best choice for cranking. Some people really think we are nuts and overthinking this apparently "simple" old thing we call fishing. P.S. - He loves to catfish though.

Photography anyone ??? (dial up beware-pic heavy)
Really would like to get into this although it would tax even more time and money in my huge list of hobby's. I think I will definitely keep atleast a disposable around at all times now and start taking some shots whenever I can.

Fishing Addiction, Stand up and introduce yourself.
It's 1:24 am here and I am like usual hounding the bass forums here, reading, and posting, posting and reading. It doesn't hurt that I fished today for only the 3rd time in 2008 and it makes me ever more amped up. I figure If I cant fish I may as well write, or read about it. Somehow knowing other fully grown men around the country are up at this hour with my same sickness helps me out!!! LOL Thank god for this forum, youtube and their bill dance blooper videos and a large living room to practice my flipping! ;D

Poker anyone??
Just seeing if any of you guys love to play poker. Hold-em, Stud, Omaha, Omaha 8oB, etc.. I have been very serious about it as a hobby for about 5 years now. I play almost daily online and a local casino about 60 miles from me opened up a 20 table poker room in November. I have played there 5 or 6 times already and love it. Poker is right up there with fishing for me. I used to play in Tunica Mississippi when I was down South, it is nice there as well. Spent New Years in Vegas and didn't get to play one hand. I was too busy..... well you know!! LOL ;D

running
I would like to start. I used to be a pretty good runner, short distances and long. I really do think it gives you more energy. Hopefully I'll get at it this spring if I'm not wetting a line constantly.

New Country
Fowler is great. I also like Reckless Kelly and Jason Boland from Oklahoma. Almost any of the red dirt bands from Texas and Oklahoma. Bleu Edmonson, and many others. RadioFreeTexas is a cool site to hear new and up and comers in the scene. Standard radio play, I'd have to say Paisley, Jackson, Strait, etc. I'm so oldschool it's hard to listen to alot of the new POP country.

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Pretty new around here but am really going to try to make it to this one. Hearing about everyone going to Guntersville made me homesick. Not sure If I'll be in Ohio or back in Bama by then but either way I will try like heck to get there. Anyone have a nice back of the boat seat open for a fellow member. I want to get a reservation in early If not I'll just fish the banks until you guys get ready to take out for the day!!! ;D
-
No fish but was sure nice to GET OUT for awhile :)
Fished with my brother in law and nephew today for a few hours at a local lake. Had to fish from the bank but didn't mind. It was about 50 degrees and the water temp was right around 43 degress. One 7" bass was all the three of us could come up with today! Atfer being out in very windy and pretty chilly weather and catching no fish, I can honestly say I'm ready to go again tomorrow!!! COME ON SPRING!! Man I am along way from Alabama up here

Allow me to introduce myself.
Welcome back!

WOW am I going to be rusty... I am actually nervous!
Thank you for your dedication and preserving our freedom. Good luck with the fishing this season. You'll be back in the zone in no time. I haven't fished all winter. I'm sure I'll set the hook into numerous underwater logs mistaking them for a bite when I first start back up this season!!! P.S.- TEXAS ROADHOUSE, and I second stopping at the BPS on the way home!!! ;D

Portage Lakes, Ohio??
Any info on this system of lakes. Fished a small part of Turkeyfoot Lake today for a couple hours. I believe there are numerous lakes in this chain. I picked up an Ohio lake guide and their are atleast 6 lakes in this chain all very close together. Any suggestions on which ones are good producers in early spring, pre spawn and spawn?

Spring Break trip
Suspending jerkbaits may be another way to go as well. Good luck!!

Late 80's Shimano Bantam Magnumlite 1550 SG Speedmaster
It's rigged. Just waiting to spool it up! It really is a nice reel. When did they start using 6.2:1 highspeed ratios for bass fishing. I would assume it was in the late 80's but am not sure.

N.E. Alabama Bass Club ?
I am originally from Scottsboro / Huntsville. I believe there is also a pretty large club in Huntsville. I think it is the Huntsville Tournament Anglers or something similar to that. Google them, I believe they have a site.

Salt Fork Lake, Seneca Lake, Southeast Ohio??
Anyone fished these lakes before. Any proven tactics or areas that you have had success with and what time of year. I plan on fishing these this spring and summer whenever I can and trying to find out some information on them. They both seem to be decent for largemouth. I know alot of people muskie fish on them as well. But I am only interested in largemouth fishing.
