  1. Posse must really be upset. Shimano Cheapening their products? Glad I got a CU50E at the sale price of $98.00 Made in Japan. Are they made in China now? Looks like the Curado has cut some corners. 1 Less bearing, Line guide is no longer Titanium coated (what will braid do to this) On the positive, it lost about an ounce. http://www.***.com/Shimano_Curado_200_G_Series_Casting_Reels/descpage-SCUG.html http://www.***.com/Shimano_Curado_200_E_Casting_Reels/descpage-SCER.html Abu Posee? Diawa Posee? Quantum Posee? Looks like Shimano Posee might be ripe for a takeover.
  2. Can of black spray paint for plastic models and some masking tape???
  3. My lake is loaded with Painted, Musk, Snapping and Soft Shell turtles. I've never actually seen a bass eat a turtle, or cleaned one with turtles inside. This is not to say it doesn't happen. I do not think turtles are on the bass's preferred menu. Once a turtle reaches a certain size, the shell gets hard making to difficult to swallow (except Soft Shells, which avoid the surface most of the time). Bass might hit it and spit it out. Not sure. Most bass attack anything on the top like a buzzbait or Rage Shad pretty violently most of the time. That being said, I would give these a try as I'm sure the bass have not seen this type or shape of bait, not so much because it resembles a turtle. Most turtles I've seen don't swim all that fast and spook and dive down pretty easily. Looks like a cool bait though. The turtles up her hatch in the fall and sometimes my son and I walk along the shore and grab them and put them in our terrarium. The Snappers get big pretty quick and have to be released but we've had a Musk turtle for 4 years and a Softshell for 3. Cool to sit and watch, especially when they are fed. They trample eachother to get at the food.
  4. Who's that good looking guy with the white hair and blue shirt in the background. Couldn't see the camo shorts. Saw a glimpse prototypes at KY lake but Big-O was guarding them with his life. I believe there is more to come.
  5. Blue Marlin in Guatemala estimated at 500-550 lbs before release at boatside. Best fight was a Tarpon estimated at 170-180 lbs that took 2.5 hours to land on 20 lb. test in 100 ft of water in Costa Rica. That was the first and last fish of that day. I could not lift my arms.
  6. WTG Eric! Still got to get together with you, Simp, and the guitar player from ZZ Top. You left too soon at KY Lake. Fishing pretty decent up north too. Check my post from 4th of July weekend. Maybe you guys could come up here for a day or two but you'd probably get stopped when you enter Cook County. Ken (CWB)
  7. Power Plant lake? P.M. name if you don't want it to get around. P.S. Bring a couple markers next trip!
  8. Nice fish! (sounds like a broken record with you Big-O) I got a pair of those shorts, slightly bigger size, and am going to try them out soon.
  9. Hey Kyle- I'm still looking for that perfect spot where I can pitch a crankbait into a bush and pull out a 4 pounder! I'm guessing you've been using a shakey head a bit more lately.

I've seen Carp clear the water by a foot while jumping. I've also seen Catfish jump out of the water but there is usually a bunch of them doing it at the same time. I thought they were Carp until I got close enough to see them. It was wild. P.S. Carp are very elusive so don't assume if you are not catching them they are not there. They are everywhere! If I could figure out how to catch them more consistently, I would definitely spend more time fishing for them. Great fighters. I've seen some cruising the shallows that look like small submarines.
  11. Second one down is what I use. Only have to splice in one #10 ring to wahtever guage wire your boat is equipped with. (crimp on ring) They make a 24 V. model also. http://www.rigritemfg.com/trolling.shtml

One of my customers has 2 of those machines and they use then to make samples for the Aerospace industry. Pretty amazing what you can make with it. Parts with embedded gears etc. And when the night shift gets to monkey with it with no supervision, they've made some pretty interesting items. Pretty wild technology out there. Picture the samples they had laid out and the imagine the guidance system for the Patriot Missile Launcher. Some pretty intricate stuff.
  16. I must be an old guy too then Dwight. I get ticked with the best of them when I lose one, even a small one. P.S. Send me a P.M. if you ever need a net man for a day or two for those huge smallies your'e always catching!
  17. WTG Otey!!

Man, another HAWG Big-O! I don't know what's prettier, that bass or you in those shorts.
  19. Had Friday off so I headed up to the summer place Thu. night. Got out for a few hours and the high winds limited where I could fish but I got into 'em pretty good. Got this one and several others on a wacky rigged senko: Just before dark that evening, got this guy: The next morning I got out just before first light and the conditions changed and I was able to throw the Rage Shad in the heavier cover. Got a bunch of keepers and had a few misses. Right before I went in for breakfast, I got these 2 on consecutive casts: The big one went 5-11. Went back out for a bit after breakfast and hit the docks. Got this guy under a pontoon boat and a couple keepers on a weightless Rage Craw. The fish absolutely attacked the bait and almost yanked the rod out of my hands.: That night my dad got in on the action. All he ever fishes is a 4" Sluggo on 8lb line. We were in some pretty nasty stuff. First he had a 5+ jump and throw the hook. Then I heard a big slurp and he had another hawg on. It wrapped around a couple pads and I tried to go over and get it but as I reached down to pull up the pads I heard him yell "s**t"! and his line broke. He seemed to lose interest after that. Here he is with one that didn't get away. He was still ticked and didn't want me to take the picture: The next morning I hit the docks with the Rage Craw again and man do they nail that thing. Got a bunch but no monsters.: Great couple days and it was good to get out with the old man. Rage Craw under boats and docks was new to me but seemed to work great. Still love the Rage Shad as #1 though. Wacky rigged senko kills but alot of shorts.
  20. Bought a Prowler 50 lb. last year and took it out on my john boat in the slop. Stalled instantly with clogged prop. Went back to Bass pro and shelled out $40.00 for a machete prop which was actually worse. Returned both for an Endura from MK and haven't looked back. IMO Minn Kotas are built more solidly and definitely a whole lot more weedless.
  21. X2 I'm pretty sure Mike will custom make whatever you want. You will not be disappointed!
  22. The back of Big-O's Rage Boat, wherever it may be!
  23. I prefer a 5/0 hook myself but if a tiny # 6 works, go for it! Seriously, sounds like a great day Kent. Pickwick rocks!
  24. WTG Chris! The DNR stocked redear in my lake 6-7 years ago to help control zebra mussels. Seems to helping a little but it has provided fantastic fishing, especially if you can find a bedding area. I have a small spot that some big ones use every year and if you hit it at the right time, you can get 30-40 that are all around a pound. Sidenote- 2 weeks ago I caught the biggest bluegill of my life 13" well over a pound, on a wacky rigged senko. My dad almost fell out of the boat when I swung it aboard. It was almost round in shape. Seems when they reach a certain length, they grow up and down, not so much longer. 'Gill size seems to be increasing yearly since introduction of readear. Do redear out compete gills for food? Used to be more gills but mostly 4-5" My son got one fathers day off the shore that was 12". Biggest he has ever caught. I told him I'd try to find a replica of it.
