    Congrats Deb! WTG.
  2. I used to use the salad spoon until I discovered the rage shad. Probably was the insiration for the Rage Shad. IMO, hook slot is actually a disadvantage when fishing the real heavy stuff as hook pushes up and tends to get snagged up. T-rig the Rage Shad and skin hook the bait on top and no worries. Rage Shad has much better action fast or slow. Salad Spoon does cast farther, which can be a plus. Keep both in your arsenal. They both produce.
  3. I have the Sebile and the Strike King Sexy Swimmers. Hard to tell difference in action. I have caught more on the Sexy Swimmer but I also throw it more due to the annoying habit of getting bitten off by pike or muskies and the fact they cost a little less.
  4. Strike King 4S in Sexy Sunfish. Dynamite anywhere bluegills or sunfish are the primary forage of bass. http://www.***.com/Strike_King_Pro_Model_Series_1__4S_Crankbait/descpage-SKPC.html#pImage
  5. Bill Dance was hawking them on a fishing show I recently watched. they do look pretty cool.

Keep your Horny toads. I'll stick with the Rage Shads which kick up more of a fuss but can be fished slower also. Problem is, they only have one leg to lose.
  7. Yeah- as long as whatever they are spraying is bio-degradeable. If not, it seems to go against everything B.A.S.S. stands for. Is it regulated in some way?
  8. Courtesy of Firefightn15, I will be bringing a pound of fifteen-year-old Wisconsin cheddar. You couldn't get anything fresh? ;D P.S. I corrected your spelling error.

Only comes in 4". Great action and sits upright on bottom. Fish aren't on beds here yet but I will be giving it a try for sure. http://www.***.com/descpageSWMJACKALL-JG.html
  11. X2. Says thousands of uses in one tube but I doubt that. I went through almost a whole tube of Megastrike last year and I didn't fish as much as I normally do.
  12. Agreed. Exceptional value.
  13. I use Rosco Duolock snaps in black which are made by Sampo. http://www.tackledirect.com/rosduolsnap.html Size 51 and 52 depending on bait and line test. Never had one fail.
  14. I believe Davey Hite won a Classic some years back using it.

+1 I have a couple of different hook sharpening stones and diamond hones. They all work well with a little practice. .daasaverda. is right that many will tell you to replace the hook, jig, whatever... Touching up the point on a hook is just part of fishing as far as I'm concerned. Just my $.02 X2 I use a medium india die stone that is 1/4" wide X 3/16" thick, tapering down to 3/32" over the 4" length. Works great. I always check all my hooks on all baits, even new, and touch them up to the point where they stick in my thumbnail with little pressure. Sharper than alot of new hooks. Seems alot of guys today don't bother, but I still check all new hooks to see if they stick in my thumbnail. Surprising how many do not.

  17. You must be snakebit. I would contact Strike Kings customer service dept. They'll probably send you 10 new ones. BTW. BPS has them on sale: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_90485____SearchResults P.S. Just read a 13+ LMB was caught on Pickwick Lake on a Sexy Shad Redeye.

The older models use a screweye to attach the ring that holds the back hook on. I love the older models and still have several. as with all older bomber baits the finish can get a white powder buildup which can be cleaned off.
  19. Always had this problem with chrome baits. I don't think they are painted, I think it is a coating like old car bumpers. One chip and it's only gonna get worse. A chip in paint can stay that way for years.
  20. First I would replace the chatterbaits with Strike King's Pure Poison's and fish as posted above.
  21. I've caught plenty of nice pike, bass and even musky along the deep remaining weededges while ice fishing. Usually there are plenty of weeds that make it through the winter but last year my first time out I couldn't find any. First time I can remember that happening.
  22. Pop-R and Zell Pop. Never had a need to try anything else. (or spend $30.00 on a popper)
  23. There's your first mistake. You got married! ;D We used to put panfish inside the wheelcovers when cars used to have them.
  24. It's the only lure I can actually say I caught a fish on the very first cast with. About a 3 pounder. Needless to say, I bought a s**tload of them and still have plenty of them left.
