Quantum Accurist
Our Academy Sports has these reels on sale for 50 bucks. I think they normally retail for $140. I have always been a die-hard Shimano fan, but my little bro needs a reel right now. Sounds hard to beat to me. I was just wondering if anybody has had any problems with them. Thanks.

leader
If you are going to use a leader use fluorocarbon. I use anywhere from a foot and a half to four feet depending on the situation. I use a surgeon knot to connect the braid and the fluoro.

Jig HookSets
Here are a few thoughts. Many times I will miss bites if my trailer is too big. Sometimes they like it that way and you will catch bigger fish. Other times they might only be getting the trailer in there mouth. I personally like extra wide gap jigs because I feel like it gives me room for a better hook set. It sounds like you're doing it fine. If they are slamming it and then releasing it real fast sometimes it takes a fast hook set. I've also found that sometimes you have to give them a second to get the whole thing in their mouth if they are toying with it. It really just depends. Nothing can take the place of on the water experience. The more you fish it the more you will understand what to do and what no to do.

OK .... I think I am pretty much done with flourocarbon lines!!!!
For everyone trying Yo-zuri Hybrid and Yo-zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft there is no need for anything over 12 lb test. It has a much higher breaking point for it's rating compared to mono or fluoro. I believe the 12 lb breaks at 17.9 lbs of pressure. It's somewhere close to that. KVD line conditioner can only help if you want limper line.

Dick's Sporting Goods!
Same here. I think they are getting good support from local fisherman and their selection has only been getting better.

why there is no 2 pieces 7' M/H casting rod on the market?
A two piece rod has a lot less sensitivity than a one piece. The only reason to buy a two piece would be travel reasons and there are ways around that. I personally wouldn't spend that much money on one.

new jigs?
GMAN's jigs are all I have been fishing lately. I get the ones with a wire tie and the skirt poofs out great. Good hook too. Micro Munch is also a great choice.

Jigs and Rattles
What is your opinion on rattles? Useless? Necesity? Also if your favorite jig isn't made with a rattle what do you do?

Line for a jig rod
Right now I'm fishing all my jigs on Yo-zuri Ultra Soft 12#. I'm trying to decide whether I should switch to a full fluorocarbon, braid with a flurocarbon leader, or just stay where I am. Obviously there would be an increase in sensitivity with the braid. To me braid with fluoro seems to be perfect except for the extra knot. I've never fished a full fluorocarbon line either though. Would it add any sensitivity to what I have already? Any thoughts? Thanks P.S. Uses: anywhere from deeper structure to pitching laydowns. I don't really flip much.

not happy with flourocarbon line.
Tackletour tested a bunch of fluorocarbons sometime last year. If I remember right they had knot strength and line strength. As already stated almost all lines broke above rated test. I think Vanish might have been the only one that broke under.

Braid......
The biggest advantages are the incredible sensitivity and the low stretch, as well as strength. Of course you want some stretch for cranks and such. It's weaknesses as stated are slightly less abrasiveness and VISIBILITY. That's the big one. In my opinion that is easily fixed a fluorocarbon leader although some would disagree. As far as brands power pro is definitely the way to go.

Shimano Citica 201D
You will be fine and you will love it. Great reel. It's just large. I got the new citica so now my old one is used for heavier applications. Still a great reel and you got a good deal.
-
revo or the new citica???
People compare the new Citica E to the old Curado D...with that being said...go with the Citica. Mine is on its way. I have the old one and it is a great reel. I'll post again when it gets here.

Jig Trailors
Sorry Brent I did not explain that well. Obviously the softness of the trailer doesn't make a whole lot of difference in the feel because the jig is hard; however, it allows the trailer to retain scent and taste much longer. It is imbued with it all. For a small non-manufactured product it's not terribly expensive. To me it's worth the extra bit of money to have the fish hold on for an extra second or two.

Swimming jigs
Not sure as far as a good brand. For weight I would say it just depends on how deep you are fishing and how fast you want the jig to get there. Color would probably be the most important. You are going to want a color that will look like something in the water column. For example you won't find a crawdad five feet off the bottom. I would say shad and bluegill colors depending on the season and forage. Hope that helps.

symetre problem
On my shimano spinning reel symetre the silver piece that connect s to the bail and that runs the line from the spool to the rod is broken. Every time I go to set the hook the line jams into the underside of it and it gets stuck. I can't figure it out or know if its even fixable.

Spinning Reel Spool Size
Looking to buy the Daiwa Regal XiA spinning reel. It's been ages since I bought a spinning reel and cannot remember what spool size is bigger smaller etc. Any opinion on what would be the best all around size? It would be used for shaky head, drop shot, small plastics, ect. I think the sizes for the Regal are 1500, 2000, and 2500. Thanks

Jig Trailors
These are the jig trailers that I use. http://www.basssnacks.com/ I haven't found anything comparable. The bass hold on significantly longer because of the unique softness and smell of the bait.

Triple Fish Fluoro vs. Carbon Pro Invisix
Wow. I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that. I was trying to ask for a comparison between the Triple Fish and the Seagaur Invisix. I really don't like memory in my line and so Invisix was great. Triple Fish is just cheaper, so I was wondering how the two compared.

Triple Fish Fluoro vs. Carbon Pro Invisix
I was just wondering if anyone had used both and could make a comparison as far as memory, sensitivity, strength, stretch, ect. Thanks

Shimano Voltaeus Rods
Yah I saw that. It's really just a promotion/introduction.

Shimano Voltaeus Rods
Just wondering if anyone had fished these new rods yet. The idea seems to be an economic rod that is light and durable. Just hunting for a review. Thanks
