  1. Hey guys This past weekend I organized a camping fishing trip for my freinds at work and there kids. We had a good time I taught the kids how to build a fire, cut wood, and make a roasting stick for hot dogs and marshmellows. They were loving it. My 5 year old son loved it as well. We got out fishing Sat. Me and my freind Lenard got skunked but his two boys cought some perch. There was a school there and I was throwing a crank but no strikes. After a few more hours another freind from work came with his Bass Tracker. So he said he new some spots in the back so we headed out. On the way my outbourd was having problems. I would get it going and then it would stall after a few minutes. I beleive it water in the fuel. Once we got there we fished for a while then headed back still got skunked lol. Once agian my motor stalled so I called Joe back in for a tow. On the way back in while I was being towed we seen a rental boat go over with a women, 3 year old little girl, a dog and 2 men. I then quickly untied the tow rope and dropped the trolling motor back in to the water. Joe sped over to them pulling the little girl and dog aboard. I then got there threw the PFD's and had the adults hang on to the side while I trolled them into shore. I didn't want to go over myself thats why I told them to hang on. Then went back for the baby. After the rescue we both looked at eachother and said good thing you came back. I was glad we were there b/c there were other boater watching just driving by. Even though we didn't have a good day fishing it was a great day saving those people. I also know my freind Lenard and his 2 son had a great time outdoors for the weekend they are from New York and never been camping before so there was enjoyment watching them in mother nature. It feels so good to give back thanks Bass Resource
  2. Kent- The banquet was great but don't forget about your burgers and Speeds chicken. Although by the looks of it you guys might need a few more grills and junior chefs to help out if you plan on repeating next year. I'm in if you need the help! Of course, I will have to sample the stuff before it's served to make sure everything's O.K. I can help with the cooking just tell me what you want me to make and when. I am best at Italian.
  3. I don't know much CPR or First Aid can I still go lol ;D
  4. Yea thank you very much I have faith that I'll get in. I am oked to go by my women so thats a plus lol. I will worry about it in the new year. So put me down on the list then ok. thanx
  5. Yes I can afford that but I don't know If I'll have the money to get a cabin then fill it. So I really would prefer to get into a cabin that needs a man. If I can't get in then I'll tent camp.
  6. Hey guys I really would like to go this time. I won't be able to afford the cabin myself so I am hoping I can share a room with someone. Is that possible? Send me a PM if you are looking for a room mate. So does anyone have a finall conculution on what license you'll need from which state? I know around here boundry waters are shared. I can fish either side of the Delaware with a NJ or PA licence. But from what I understan to fish lake Eire you need to buy a permit. I don't know about that much. I also noticed that tent sites are $10 a night. Does that include the catered events with the rest of the guys or do you have to supply your own food? thanx
  7. I had my best this year at Farrington Lake guys. It was a nice sunny day then the over cast came in and the bite turned on. Its a nice lake there
  8. What esactly is slow rolling a spinner bait? Like swim jigging?
  9. I tried putting on a bed liner coat but it didn't do much If I were you I would focus on stopping the leaks first then top if off. It will save you some money
  10. ok thank you I am going to try charging another battery first to see if it is my charger or the battery. Then I will let you know how I make out with it.
  11. I don't get it when I am out on the water the battery hold up. Isn't this a sign of a good battery? And if it was bad and won't reach full charge then why is it that when I switch the charger off then back on it will say the charge is complete? This is why I suspect the charger not the battery. I could be wrong but I want to let you guys know evrything. So what do I have to do to check the battery? Do I put that inside were the plates and water are?
  12. Here ya go. Check out my project I didn't tighten up the rivets but I used epoxy and it worked great. Hope it helps http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1223478703/90
  13. lol I just said the same thing to my dad. Great minds think a like bro. This charger gets great reveiws when it works
  14. No I know for sure the odor is coming from the charger b/c I smelled both and the charger was the source. I bought this battery a year ago. So I don't think it's the battery. When I hit the on off power switch on the charger it will then switch to charge complete but if I don't do it it will never shut off.
  15. hey guys I have bought this charger last year. When I got it the charger worked properly. It is suppost to be a automatic charger. So when the battery if full it should switch it's self too charge complete. Which stops the connection. The first one I had did stop at one point but it stopped working correctly. I kept using it and it would get hot and have a odor so I sent it back. I just got my new one and it does the same thing. So I am wouindering does anyone have this charger? If so do you have this issue? here is the link below to veiw the charger. Thanx http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=7966283
  16. thanks bro I need to check some of those placese out.
  17. thank you I hope so as well.
  18. Yea I got my first a few weeks back bro it wasn't nearly as nice though.
  19. Thanks Zel I am so grateful for all your insight on SR but I just can't get it. I was telling muddy I know how to fish weed beds, over hangs, flooded timber, emerged rocks ect. but I don't have a F%^&* clue how to fish drops and ledges. I could use some lessons if you wouldn't mind meeting me on SR one day. I'll bring lunch and all. I just wanted to put it out there b/c I feel like I have given up on that lake already. Send me a PM if you like thanx JOhn
  20. hey fish last I checked it was 4' above normal which around here kills the rapids mostly but the current is wicked. I haven't seen many anglers out there but plenty of Yakers and tubers. Hope you have fun and be safe dude
  21. Hey guy I thank all of you BR members for making me the angler I am today and muddy for teaching me how to catch dinks. lol It does feel great to give back I can say that.
  22. Yes you are rite. He is already talking about getting a rod and some tackle. I would like to get it for him but money is tight b/c I am getting married in Sep. I am going to give him one of my surf rods though. He is going to go fishing with some other guys he knows back home.
  23. 2lber caught on a t rig. Next to a fallin tree.
  24. My 3lber caught under a over hand on a 5'' trick stick wacky. It was facing the channel.
  25. Hey guys here is a pic of my freind Lenard. He's from Broklyn NY and has never been outdoors. So I took him out after work and he loved it. After most of the day we couldn't get a bite he was just so happy to be out in old mother nature. Then the weather report was calling for thunder storms around late noon. So the wind picked up and there was alot more over cast. The bite turned on then. Once he seen me bring in a 2.5 lber and a dink he was very determined to catch his first. After a few more hours we were both tired after working a 12 hour shift the night before. So we head in to the launch stopping here and there to try and get Lenny a bass. Finally he set the hook just rite on the old trusty wacky rig trick stick. He put it perfectly between 2 lillys that sat infront of a thick lilly patch. Then he ripped that dink acrost the water like it was a bag full of a million dollars. lol He was so excited and I was very happy and prould of him. It made me think of all the time I've been skunked on Spruce Run and I gave up b/c I couldn't catch anything. A valuble lesson learned I'll tell you. here are the pics guys enjoy. Lenards first bass. In Aug I am taking Lenard his 2 sons and another guy and his boys on a camping fishing trip. None of them have really ever been camping or fishing till now.
