  4. Hey guys I go to Hilton Head too. I stay in Sea Pines usaully and I have fished the 3 small lakes in the conservation area. I was told alot of the pond are brackish water b/c of flood I guess that wasn't true. So which ponds are good and safe to fish?
  5. Ok great thanks Rooster. I was told by my freind to number an egg carton and then during the reassemblywork backwords. Then another freind told me to use a camera so I am going to use everyone skills to adapt my own. So did you find it difficult to learn this? Thanx
  6. Hey guys I am about to rip apart my first BC reel so I can attept to learn how to rebuild. So before I start I would like to get the schematics. I am also willing to listen to your exsperience. So please feel free to give info on this post. : Thanx John
  7. Personally I like rods better. I have Trions and a president on a few rods that are worth more then the reels but I can use the reels and thats what counts. Untimatley I think that it's a equal balance upon the anglers desgretion. A rod and reel are a machine and to have a balanced machine you need parts that work well together. Example: You couldn't put V8 5.0 L engine on a little hondas tranny. It would destroy it and will never hold the power that the motor is built for. Just like putting a Micro Light reel on a offshore fishing rod and hooking up with a Tuna. It would never work. That is how I feel about my rods and reels. My new fav is 7' Med Hevy Johnny Morris with My President. Its a beautiful combo. I have so much distance and acuracy it unbeleivible
  8. Nice video I hope to make it in one at some point.
  9. Hey guys I wanted to let you know that I fired up the motor in the trash can and there was no problems. So I will be headed out fishing with robby Z on Fri. I hope there will be no problems. I'm sure there won't be. I actually checked the gas tank vent and cleared that. So I think that the depressurization may of been the problem.
  10. x2 The information contained on this site is great, but it's the people that really make this site shine. There are some really great folks here. i couldnt agree more. you guys are truly amazing!! i hope work turns around and i can make it to pickwick. i owe you guys a round of drinks or your choice! thanks again, muddy and sharkbite! Hey dude your welcome. I don't drink but I would love to fish with ya some time. Hopefully We can fish at Pickwic if not maybe next year we can work another trip out to come near you. I hope you enjoy the combo.
  11. Ok I see. My vent is also on the top of the gas tank cap. It is sealed by gaskets and you turn it to opean it more or less I usally have it fully opeaned. I am going to check the fuel line, Plugs and gas this weekend I hope. How would I purge everything the motor is so small.
  12. Ok thank for the advice. So you don't think it's water or a plug then? What do you mean by purge the system. I keep Stabil in my fuel and I ran Sea Foam a few months back. I've never done much work on motors so I am brand new is changing filters hard?
  13. Good job healthy bass bro
  14. Dude check your capacity plate. It should say how many people allowed, How much weight per person, and max weight allowed in the vessle. Then think of all the weight that will be in the boat you, Tackel, Rods, Battery, Motor, Seats. Then ask yourself if you really think its safe to add the weight and how much would be safe to add. I have a 12' jon and the only thing I would consider is installing a floor for carpet. There really is no need for a deck either you can stand up if you need to see down. a deck will also make the vessel top heavy too. What is your beam width? For me I wouldn't put a deck on anything less the 40''. The artic cat helped me with my rig and he does nice work here is mine below http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1226268614/2#2 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1223478703/90
  15. Hey guys, I have purchased a Mecury motor used earlier this season. It has run great all year. I was out on the lake last weekend and it started giving me problems. I don't have a manual for this motor and I am pritty sure it's from some time in the early 90's. This motor is a pull and go model. Meaning there is no nuteral or reverse. So I start the motor up like normal and with a couple of pulls it goes. Then after a few minutes it will stal on me. If I don't increase speed then it will go longer without staling. I think it may be water in my gas tank or in my gas can. My father said it could be the plug. So what should I check first. Also I am woundering if they make a gapless plug for a 2-cycle motor since I don't have the manual to get the gap specs. Has anyone done this to there 2-cycle? I am opean to your guy knowlege thank you.
  16. Ok well I am going to do esactly what you did. But I don't have those spoons just drop shot rigs
  17. congrat man keep at it.
  18. Hey Kenny how deep were you fishing? I have been trying hard to get some bass in the boat but I been having the same problem you were. The lake is about 20' deep were I have been fishing. I bought drop shot stuff but never tried it. What structure was the bass most likely to be around?
  19. Thats a good deal I heard last years gift pack was loaded with goodies
  20. Yea dude that sounds good. You fish a big lake like the belt so I am sure you can teach me a few things on the run. I have a map zel posted. So we can start there. I will call you this week bro. Ok you can park at my house and we'll go from there.
