  1. Good Luck with all of that. Of course we'll need video preferably but pictures would be OK as well. A-Jay
  2. The 'record low' is just for this date. We've seen and will most likely see a few days colder as the winter progresses. A-Jay
  3. Old Man winter is Flexing for us today, sharing some record cold to our little piece of the planet. This morning our dogs went out and back also in Record time. -20's will do that. 110 days to go . . . . Remembering Miss Big Fin . . . A-Jay
  4. When I did the dogs last night it was -5. I could hear the trees 'popping' all around us. If you've never experienced that - it's pretty wild. It's kind of hard to describe and only happens in the coldest temps. Over the otherwise dead silence of the winter woods at night, it seems eerily loud. A-Jay
  5. My version of 'trends' when looking for big brown bass.. In no particular order, but they all matter. - Quality balanced tackle including line and terminal tackle never goes out of style. - Accurate, LONG casts radically out produce the opposite. - It ALL Starts with Proper boat position and it trumps everything. - Long hours on the water for any trip for me never changes how, where or when the fish will feed. But being there when they do has proven to be a good way to get a few. - Since Both Bass & bait have free will, I am considerably more open minded than I used to be. Meaning I've stopped looking for trends. So if and when seasonal patterns are not producing, I may expand on them a little to see if I can get onto something. But you can bet it won't be a whopper plopper or a glide bait. A-Jay
  6. Gaylord has broken their record at 5:24 am this morning reporting -21 degrees Fahrenheit. The previous record of -10 for December 22nd has been standing since 1989. Cold is merciless. It shows you where you are. What you are. 🥶 A-Jay But wait - It really warming up quickly . . . . A-Jay
  7. Maybe something like this ? Star Bits A-Jay
  8. Now why didn't I think of that ? I actually snagged that Dock Demon rig from the depths of Lake Menderchuck with a Jackhammer - You just never know . . . A-Jay
  9. Workout Day 5 for me on this one. Seemed like I had good energy and tried to keep time between sets down a bit. So as soon as I was recovered and ready, I'd hammer out the next set. Adds some intensity to the training, without adding resistance. Like most winter months, I'm working on progressively getting a little stronger each workout. But us Senior citizens need to take it slow. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  10. Let's not jinx it ~ I still have to rob at least 2 more Quik Marts to help cover the air fare. A-Jay

  16. OK genius. Now how about putting a bass in the avatar pic ? What the heck . . . . . A-Jay
  17. I am about 25 / 75 at this point. And the 75 is the crash & burn percentage. #glidebaits But the few times I do get it right, especially recently, it's been pretty Epic. So I tell myself "it's worth trying" I have learned that I am willing to give whatever it is at at least a couple of seasons before I bail on it completely. A few times I've had success with deals in places and in a manner not original thought of. I hate the term "think outside the box" but it certainly applies in those few cases. Winners include the A-Rig, vibrating jigs and a few jerkbaits. Either way, despite selling some of it off, I still have a decent level of deals labeled "Pending" which could mean anything is possible. A-Jay
  18. Strangely, mine do too. And a 2nd & 3rd set didn't help matters any. 😎 A-Jay
  19. As I said, The Dog X is a small bait relatively speaking; especially for a walking bait. And it has it's place in calm, quiet, super flat conditions. However, my bait of choice for plus sized Brown bass on topwater is the SK Sexy Dawg and has been for a while. It fishes well is stuff the Dog X will not (a little wind & some wave action) More recently The Hard Knock version has been very good as well. Late summer and early fall screams topwater here and a full sized bait draws the attention of the fish I'm looking for. https://youtu.be/sOBk7MV01o8?feature=shared&t=103 A-Jay
  20. @TnRiver46 I really do appreciate the support. Thank you Sir. A-Jay

Ok ~ as a veteran Fitness person, I've had to adapt my diet in may ways to compensate for my declining - - - Well everything. Including my ability to recover and even how much food I can effectively digest/assimilate at a time. My 'secret move' is to have a protein drink in the middle of the night. Like 1-2 AM. I make sure I have a Big H2O before bed, which all but guarantees me of the the need to get up and use the head about that time. I make the drink before retiring and just down it before I go back to bed. The extra 40 grams of protein has been a Huge benefit as I was finding it tough to get what I needed during normal waking hours. Drink is made with 1/2 2% milk and 1/2 water. Something to think about. A-Jay
