Super User MN Fisher Posted October 31, 2024 Super User Posted October 31, 2024 Gotta love consistency. Last year @gimruis posted this Exactly one year later we have this going on And the NWS posted this Winter Weather Advisory in effect from October 31, 10:00 AM CDT until October 31, 04:00 PM CDT Kids tonight better have their warm undies on. 3 Quote
Super User gim Posted October 31, 2024 Super User Posted October 31, 2024 It just turned from a heavy rain to a heavy wet snow here. Unreal. Gonna melt pretty quick though. 57 on Sat and 62 on Sun. Its been very dry lately so any moisture is beneficial at this point although I'd prefer all rain. 2 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted October 31, 2024 Global Moderator Posted October 31, 2024 Meanwhile in TN we had an air conditioner freeze over at work yesterday afternoon and it almost hit 80 degrees outside. Reminds me of Halloweens when I was a kid sweating like crazy in costumes 2 Quote

Super User MN Fisher Posted October 31, 2024 Author Super User Posted October 31, 2024 Ya - this whole fall has just been psycho. 1 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted October 31, 2024 Super User Posted October 31, 2024 Dang. That time of year already. Today it was over 80 degrees in my part of upstate NY. Could do without that. But I’ll take it over snow. Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted October 31, 2024 Global Moderator Posted October 31, 2024 4” of snow here last year. Last year Muskegon, MI received 8” of snow, high winds, and power outages which delayed trick or treating for a few days. 70* here today. Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted November 1, 2024 Super User Posted November 1, 2024 Sorry, it was 70* the last couple days in MA. Fishing’s been S L O W, but I’m still tooling around in my convertible. Quote
DaubsNU1 Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 Duck hunting this weekend...supposed to rain, high's in the mid 50's, lows in the upper 40's. Still keeping the boat ready...I hope to get a few more days on the water before freeze. Quote
Super User gim Posted November 1, 2024 Super User Posted November 1, 2024 Here's my deck today, a result of 3 inches of snow yesterday. Second photo is last year on Halloween, exactly one year ago. "Spookily" similar. Last year the next measurable snow we received after the Halloween one was in Feburary. I'd be fine with that again. 1 Quote

Susky River Rat Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 82 here yesterday broke the record today around 78. Should be low to mid 60s also going on a record of no measurable rain fall with like 26 consecutive days of no measurable rain. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted November 20, 2024 Super User Posted November 20, 2024 Hasn't been much of a 'winter' up this way so far. Warm air temps and nothing close to measurable snow. But living in 'the snow belt' our average first snow is usually somewhere around mid-October. Forecast is straighten out though . . . . Here we go . . . A-Jay 1 Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted November 20, 2024 Super User Posted November 20, 2024 A-Jay, this week is the first week so far that our morning temps will get below freezing. Tomorrow morning predicted 29 degrees. No snow yet, but finally got caught up on rain. Daytime temps in the upper 40s, or lower 50s. I'm prepared with a new snow shovel and some bags of salt, and, still trying to squeeze in a few afternoon fishing trips before it all freezes up. Quote
Super User gim Posted November 20, 2024 Super User Posted November 20, 2024 Flurries here this morning too. I already had winter show up 3 weeks ago. Received 3 inches of the heavy wet stuff on Halloween morning. It all melted within a few days. Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted November 20, 2024 Global Moderator Posted November 20, 2024 We are supposed to get a little snow later this week, had 4 inches on mt leconte over a month ago Quote
Super User casts_by_fly Posted November 20, 2024 Super User Posted November 20, 2024 we are forecast some snow on the back of this storm, but only for the 4 hours overnight that it is going to dip below 32. It will be gone in the morning when we wake up or shortly thereafter. More importantly we are supposed to get 3" of rain in 72 hours which we sorely need. It's been 60+ as the highs for the past 2 weeks, but winter is coming. Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted November 20, 2024 Super User Posted November 20, 2024 It's been a long time we've had drought conditions here in New England but we're finally getting some well deserved rain for the next couple of days. Still pretty mild for New England for this time of year, but rain baby rain! 1 Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted November 20, 2024 Super User Posted November 20, 2024 El Niño, La Niña has got me all confused again this year. Overall prediction is for a seasonal 10-12 inches which is fine by me. That pretty much allows us to fish all winter. Quote
KP Duty Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 We have green grass in Tulsa...thought maybe it would make it to Thanksgiving, but it's getting colder 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted November 23, 2024 Super User Posted November 23, 2024 The highs here in about a week look to be in the teens, with overnight lows in single digits. Fall is over in about 2 days here it looks like, and winter will be arriving. Less than a month ago, it was still 75 degrees. Fall lasted less than a month here. 👎 1 Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted November 23, 2024 Super User Posted November 23, 2024 Thursday night in Beech Mountain NC. Once a year my wife and I chase some snow. I'm glad this is it. I couldn't care less about snow. Snow and Winter in general suck. 1 Quote
