  1. Hello and Welcome to BR ~ A-Jay
  2. Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value. –Albert Einstein A-Jay
  3. I started keeping a serious log during my Striped Bass Addiction many years ago. Once I retired and started fish sweet water again I kept it going. It's a tool and like any good one there's a learning curve when it comes to using it. A little later on, I liked combining my trip logs with my digital photos. This turned into a nice way to document & enjoy the memories while still being able to go back and look over the data. Each season I start a fresh log and simply keep it running all year. What stands out to me after several years of documenting trips and their associated information is: The more things change, the more they remain the same. A-Jay

  5. Just be very Glad that the men & women that are defending your freedoms do not play by this insane set of rules. In the military, it's cut & dry. Crazy is out. The End. A-Jay
  6. http://www.sebile.com.au/Sebile_Products/Flatt_Shad_SU_77.html This Sebile model suspends. I thought it would be a great bait, especially over mid-depth vegetation, but so far I've experienced only mixed results. A-Jay
  7. He walks 4 miles to & from work every day, who does that ? He man has problems that have over taken good judgment a long time ago. He hit rock bottom quite a ways back and so far has been extremely lucky not to have taken any innocent by standers down with him. After reading this entire thread, I don't know what else you could do. It sounds like this is part of your job description, but they don't make it easy for you, which is a little strange considering the circumstances. If your biggest fear is this man losing his job instead of perhaps killing someone who is conducting themselves with dignity and respect, then you need to realign your priorities. The man is a ticking time bomb - how can you not see that ? What if he killed you ? C'mon man - stop playing the martyr - you know you did the right thing here - that man dealt the cards and you have no choice but to play the hand that he dealt. A-Jay
  8. Good to Hear - we always heard that Glenn was a crazy man. Just kidding. Some day I'm going to make the Road Trip event. A-Jay

  12. I'm not ashamed to admit that I am a Bottom Feeder. Too many of the most memorably large bass I've landed have come by way of bottom contact baits. Jigs are my "Search Bait." A-Jay
  13. Making THE commitment to jig fishing is the Single Best decision a bass angler can make. If you truly do it - you will be rewarded with a serious improvement in Big Bass. I'd wish you good Luck, but when fishing jigs, you don't really need it. A-Jay
  14. X2 ~ And I have to mention - any time someone mentions using a Tail Rope while bass fishing, it gets my attention . . . . A-Jay

  21. Congrats ~ Gorgeous Fish ! Just like you, I have No clue on the weight. I do know where they sell the scales though. A-Jay
  22. Sorry to hear you're having a tough time trying to enjoy something that you love. This is a tough situation and one that unfortunately may not be resolved without a visit by the local law enforcement officials to this couples residence. If you have a cell phone, be sure to bring it with you when you go fishing there. If & when you are approached by these people call "911". Explain to them that you are a 14 year old boy and you are being Harassed and Threatened by these adults while you're legally fishing and you don't feel safe. Be sure to call Every time this situation occurs. Your local authorities will sort this out appropriately soon enough and you'll be able to get back to what you enjoy. You have that right. Good Luck A-Jay
  23. In the conditions you've described, a loud rattle or serious one-knocker in the bait might be more or at least just as important as the color of the lure. A-Jay
  24. There are as many personal preferences in rod actions as there are different rods to chose from. I'd say try to match your rod choice with the type & size lures you'll be throwing along with the size & type of line that will suit the baits. I do not use any of my cranking rods (which are glass) for top water; they are too "slow" to work the baits properly. I prefer a 6'6" - 7' medium action graphite stick with mono line for treble hook top water baits. You may prefer something else. The right answer is what works for you. A-Jay
