  1. They were being Bass ~ and it sounds like they were in a neutral mood and not totally negative. The fact that they at least followed your bait is somewhat encouraging. Though I hate to do it, "down sizing" your presentation sometimes helps. And don't forget your line is part of your presentation also, so you may want to consider a lighter one at times. A-Jay

  9. Yes it is adjustable with Velcro. My squash is way small as well and this one works for me. A-Jay
  10. No, it is not weighted. It's the Cobra Black Heads or the Paycheck Baits Head Case. You can check them out on TW. Designed to assist your bait through cover, they are both constructed from durable hard plastic, and made to be rigged in front of your weightless soft plastic baits. They come with a spring in the back to screw into the bait. For this rig, I remove the spring and slid a skirt on the peg. A-Jay
  11. Thanks - This is link to a current thread on the Original Rage Rig. A-Jay http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/134533-tried-the-rage-rig/?p=1495983

  14. When bass come shallow, especially in & around cover and want a moving bait, I like swim jigs. But the exposed hook is sometimes problematic, even with a weed guard. So by adding the attracting qualities of a skirt to the Rage Rig, you get what is essentially a Texas rigged Swim Jig or a Swimming Rage Rig. Since the weight is hung under the bait instead of mounted up front, the rig want to ride and stay a little higher in the water column. A nice characteristic especially close to the bank. The rig from line to hook consists of a stopper, a Cobra Black Head or a Paycheck Baits Head Case with the spring removed (I painted the white one), your choice of shirt and whatever weighted swim bait hook you prefer. These are Falcon Lures Bait-Jerk EWG Hooks. The plastics pictured are a Gene Larew Biffle Bug. a Rage Lobster, and two Rage Eeliminators. The plastic you chose can be almost any action type deal you’d normally use as a moving bait trailer: even a swim bait like a Skinny Dipper. It makes a decent search bait, great for soft bottom area and is good from the bank as well. One could even rig it with a very light weighted hook (or no weight) and drag it on top. A-Jay
  15. Unless you're already using it, go with a quality monofilament line instead of braid. Should help you out. A-Jay
  16. Hello and Welcome to BR ~ A weightless or lightly weighted Fluke is a good bait. Try a square bill crank bait. That's a bait that is right at home bumping along all that Rip Rap. Good Luck A-Jay

  19. Don't have any secret baits, just secret spots. Many of which are obvious and in plain site. However, when visited under the cover of darkness, yield very worthy results. Early in the year, a Rapala Subwalk can be very good. (During the day of course). A-Jay
  20. As a frequent TW user and abuser, I appreciate the wide variety and large selection. Something that goes unmentioned is how user friendly the web site is. I find it to be one of, if not the best out there. That plays a big role. If the sites bogging down or pages don't load while I'm making an order, I'm gone. Pictures of items are clear and concise and you just can't beat the Tackle Warehouse Demo Program. Where else can you try out reels on your home water before you buy them - and through the mail no less. Really nice. A-Jay

X2. To the OP Commitment, dedication & passion are certainly desirable traits on the job. Confidence gained by knowledge, training and experience along with self discipline will serve you well. Your experience as described, indicates there may be too much of some and not enough of the other. A-Jay

  23. X2 They also like Huddleston swim baits quite a bit ~ but just the tails for some reason . . . . . A-Jay
  24. Swim jigs are an effective option in & around weedy cover and don't miss the chance to throw a frog up in that mess as well. A-Jay
