  2. Sounds about right ~ My first 5 years in the service. A-Jay
  3. Ah, the good old days . . . . . . . . A-Jay
  4. Mayor Dana Outlaw (apparently the man's actual name) may have a somewhat difficult time getting re-elected. He may also want to seriously consider Kevlar under garments. A-Jay
  5. I agree with you. Boats are tracked by their HIN or Hull Identification Number. As long as that number is intact and not otherwise altered in any way, if the boat had been registered any where at any time - they would know. Additionally manufactures can track them that was as well. A-Jay
  6. That's really good to hear. I realize that saying congratulations for what is commonly thought of as "routine paperwork" is a little weird, but in this case I think it applies. A-Jay
  7. A prime example of what can happen when one's Situational Awareness is impaired. Additionally, a couple of times there I thought we were going to witness either some broken bones or urinating in public . . . . A-Jay

  9. Look at you, throwing all that Good Mojo our way ~ Thank You very Much And kindly Stop Blowing all that Smoke in my personal direction - Now where did I leave the Big Horse Shoe ? ? A-Jay
  10. First off use Braided line - something between 40 - 65 depending on the cover. I've used and like Koppers Live Target Hollow Body Frog, Spro Dean Rojas Bronzeye Frog, Strike King KVD Sexy Frog, & Spro Dean Rojas Bronzeye Poppin' Frog. There are many others that have a decent record of performance but those are the one I have experience with. Tip - WAIT a beat after seeing the strike to set the hook. Traditional advice revolves around "feeling the weight of the fish" before setting the hook. Sometimes that's hard to do but is solid advice. Also adding a slippery scent to the bait like Megastrike can help a few ways. Might keep the fish holding on a bit longer, helps the bait slip through cover and could help on hook sets too. Good Luck A-Jay
  11. X2 The one Benefit of Fluorocarbon Line is realized by those who make & sell it. $$$$$$$$$$$$$ A-Jay
  12. I'm with you there - We may be seeing something here in the form of Big Bronze Back Bass any time now that the ice is off most of Lake Erie . . . A-Jay
  13. Classic. I like your style. I'll admit to drinking quite a bit of it, however Fluorocarbon line is one batch of Kool-Aid that I just can't swallow. A-Jay
  14. Congrats on the new boat Chris. As for the deck getting scratched up; the gel coat is a fairly hard but slippery surface, especially when wet. Your buddy may be looking for extra traction while on it, which usually includes the use of her nails a bit more. I guess I'd expect it to eventually look like any areas in & around your home the dog uses that have a similar hard (uncarpeted) surface. A-Jay
  15. I don't really care who reels her in ~ I just want to be in the boat ! A-Jay

Holy Smokes ~ That Is a Honey Hole ~ ! Congrats and it's very cool that you captured it all on video. Nice Job. A-Jay
  17. Provided your drag was set to a level where you would not expect it to slip on the hook set, I'd open your reel up again and wipe / clean off your drag washers. Sounds like your running too much grease there. Some anglers use a very, almost completely dry drag. A-Jay

  21. Here in Northern Michigan, it's snowing right now. Forecast is a mix of snow & rain but that fact remains - it's still snowing. I'm headed out right now to check to see if the rain the past few days has inspired something close to an ice out Hey, I guy can always dream . . . . . A-Jay
