  1. Don't Even get me going about this wacky miserable weather - it's just NASTY ! And not to change the subject - But Dwight, calling what you've been doing to the smb recently " getting in a little groove" ~ makes my brain hurt. A-Jay

I hear ya J, I actually have some - it's a gaudy green color but it is a bit cheaper and available locally. I love catching big pike, they really Hammer a jig too. Nothing subtle about it. A-Jay

The pike / bass over lap is KILLING ME ! Seems like just about every mid-depth drop with weeds on it is holding decent size bass AND over sized Pike. I am Very Tied if feed these toothy devils my best jigs ! And when I go with a leader I don't get bit. I am using AFW surflon in camo which is thin and tie-able. I'm gonna start keeping them and feeding it to my pack - they would love it ! A-Jay
  7. I'm headed out into the same mess this morning as well. I dislike fishing in the rain but have had some success at times. If I catch I don't mind being a little soggy, but when I don't, it's less fun, OK it's miserable especially when it's cold and windy too. I'm throwing jigs and soft plastics to pre-spawn fish. Good Luck A-Jay
  8. A Six pound plus smallie on Friday The 13Th ~ I'll take that kind of bad luck any day ! Another Trophy fish. She looks like she was hand painted, just beautifully marked. Congrats again Dwight A-Jay
  9. And I'll smile right with ya ! As outrageous as an 8 lb smallie sounds - with the roll you're on this spring, I for one, would not be surprised. A-Jay
  10. Fantastic outing Dwight ! 4 Trophies for sure. Nice photo's too especially since you were a 1 man show. btw - are you saving your smile for the over 8 lb smallie ? A-Jay
  11. I release every fish but if I landed a bass over or close enough to justify the efforts required by the This state's DNR, I'm keeping it and following the guide lines verbatim. State records are recognized by weight only. To qualify for a state record, your fish must exceed the current listed state record weight and identification must be verified by a DNR fisheries biologist. All state record entry fish must be weighed on a commercial scale (grocery store, meat market, etc) and record the business name where scale is located. If possible, attach weight slip. Now that sounds like a chore to do, but the real tough part would be getting a lmb over 11-15 or a smb over 9-4 ! It's possible and I'm ready for it if and when I may tie into something like that but I'm not expecting it to actually happen. A-Jay
  12. Pretty Brown Bass Congrats ! A-Jay
  13. I have not contacted them but you're right I may end up going that way Thanks A-Jay

  18. I use a minn kota battery box / power center to run my trolling motor and hummingbird FF/gps. The box has a Built-in battery meter includes two 12-volt accessory plugs, and 2 manual reset circuit breakers (15 amp for accessory plugs and 60 amp for trolling motor) The 60 amp breaker is bad - I need a new one Can anyone direct me to a source of supply for an L1 60A 125/250Vac 50Vdc Push-to-reset operation single pole Thermal Circuit Breaker, TC-2 rating ? A-Jay
  19. Thanks - I have not tried snap weights but could certainly see where they would be an advantage here. I will openly admit however, I am a big fat rookie -when it comes to trolling for these fish. I actually have more time fly casting the rivers for bows & browns than I do trolling. I don't want to attribute this catch totally to luck as I think I was doing the right thing, at the right time and in the right place - But Man - I must be living right. A-Jay
  20. Thanks Glenn. This fish came out of a "Lake". But this place is part of a chain of lakes that are all connected. I originally started Bass fishing in this "Trout" designated lake last year because the fish were bigger and NO One was fishing for them. Since then I've landed my PB LMB, Pike and now Rainbow from this place. I would see these trout busting all over the lake. So yesterday I snapped on a couple of small Rapala minnows and set out trolling the shore and edges of the drops I've seen the most action. She at a brown trout colored bait(In #5 size) that I up graded the hooks on. A Med-Light action 7' spinning rod w/ 10lb braid and a 6 lb flouro leader. To get the bait down a bit I used what is basically a Carolina rig with a 1oz weight and a 5 ft leader. It was the only fish of the day. A-Jay
  21. C & R - She was Ripe with eggs . . . A-Jay
  22. Yea, I was trying real hard to cull that smaller fish to get to a 20lb bag but never did manage a bigger bite. So it ended up @ 18 and change. A-Jay
  23. The cool clear waters of the North Woods produced this Gorgeous trout today. I was very excited when she interrupted my lunch. It may be a while before I top this one. A-Jay
  24. Sounds like a plan Chris ~ I'm wondering if blind casting a crawler in deeper water might mean weeding through some smaller bass and even add pan fish to your by-catch before you get to that Nine pounder - which by the way, is grossly obscene to even think about A-Jay
  25. Holy Smokes Glenn - you've been busy. A-Jay
