Big Girls like Lobster Dinners
Nice fish Big O ~ You are killing me ! You and the 8'4" "push pole" rod are a Hot Stick ! I'm getting 8-12 " of snow tonight - I have to seriously consider a winter home in your area. . . A-Jay

kvd leads
The live weigh in was so-so. I'm holding my vote on the new emcee but his first day was nothing to write home about. After the weigh in concluded BASS held a Q and A session. The top 5 angler's sat up front panel style and took turns answering questions from the press. It was a little sappy. Despite the auspicious 1st day coverage, that tournament itself is setting up to be a good one. :-/ A-Jay

Monkeying Around with the Space Monkey...
Flipping small timber on 25 fluoro hybrid, 1/2 oz tungsten with weight stop (bobber stop) in 14 ft of water... They were on the edge of the drops in creek channels in front of spawning flats Big O www.ragetail.com Wow, you really have it down. Mind if I ask what rod/reel you were using? Fat-G, The Rod I built myself from 2 rods... An old Quantum Handle and a 7' Lumas heavy action Blank put together to make it 8'4" overall length. The reel is either a KVD or a Shimano Curado... don't remember which is on it right now but I like'em both. Big O www.ragetail.com 8' 4" - Man, you're not messing around ! So does that stick double as a push pole ? A-Jay

Which paddle tail swimbait
Right on. I switched to the sled head like mid season last year and was instantly impressed with the results. I'll be picking up a few packs of the split tail baits to try myself. Thanks A-Jay

Which paddle tail swimbait
Roger, will you be throwing the split tail bait on the Owner SLED HEAD with Screw-Lock Shank, or do you have another rig in mind ? A-Jay

KVD or the Field?
I like KVD again. But I read that he was sick this week or at least feeling significantly under the weather. That might make him even more dangerous. A-Jay

Radar?
With the fog that is forecasted each morning, radar is a good idea. However, regardless of the technology, it's not infallible. I hope the anglers operate at a safe speed in the reduced visibility, with or without radar. If not, bad things could happen. A-Jay

KVD or the Field?
The forecast heading into the Feb. 18-20 world championship calls for progressively warmer air temps and some sunshine. The resulting warming Delta water is expected to improve the bass bite, this might set up well for KVD if the rattle bait bite erupts like it could. If I had to put up my own money, it would be hard to bet against him. A-Jay

First Album you bought?
Jesus Christ Superstar. It may not have been the first rock opera (the Who's Tommy was released in 1969), but Jesus Christ Superstar was a legendary album long before it hit the stage, thanks to Tim Rice's compelling book and lyrics combined with Andrew Lloyd Webber's irresistible music. Telling the story of the last days of Christ from the point of view of Judas (Murray Head), the still-unmatched original cast also stars Deep Purple's Ian Gillan as Jesus and Yvonne Elliman as Mary Magdalene, the role she made into a career (with a cameo on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack). Decades later, such songs as "Superstar," "I Don't Know How to Love Him," "Heaven on Their Minds," and "Everything's Alright" still retain their extraordinary power. 8-) A-Jay

Diverticulitis = a big OUCH
I feel for ya bud. Been there. Mine was a little different. I had the perforated diverticulitis - out of no where. Had a blow out and was poisoning myself for several hours. I was in a world of hurt, almost bought the farm. Emergency surgery then the better part of a month in the hospital followed by another surgery 4 months later. I lost a ton of weight. I looked like I was 80 but I was only 40. After it's all said and done I'm OK. Not good as new but I'm happy to be here and happy to do whatever it takes to keep it that way. Good luck with your procedures and continued good health to you. A-Jay

Dragging a Bait Uphill or down hill?
I have success going both ways (and that only applies to fishing 8-) ) When targeting spooky fish in really clear water, up hill is my direction of choice. I especially like to position in very shallow water, often right by the bank. Fish seem to get used to being approached from the "Lake" side of a drop and often times will respond better to a bait coming "the other way". A-Jay

My new fishing log
X2 - after 3 years of documentation, I realized that 5 percent of my baits caught 95 percent of my fish - the bait monkey was not happy. A-Jay

favorite trailer for swim jig?
Reaction Innovations Little Dipper 3.5" - Gives the bait a nice little side to side shimmy/roll. It's a little different action, but it's good. A-Jay http://www.***.com/Reaction_Innovations_Little_Dipper_35_9pk/descpage-RILD.html#multiview

Kistler rod diferences
And as a bonus, you'll soon get 243 e-mails a day from Kistler telling you how great they are, or you can now buy the rod you just paid full price for at a 50% discount if you buy a more expensive one : I like there rods............but they are ridiculous...........kind of like BPS with the catalogs. Yea, agreed. Recently the unsolicited emails have been excessive. A-Jay

your thoughts on the potential nfl lockout.
The entire world is all about making money.Common business practice. We live and die trying to make money. It's not gonna get better, but much worst. The world is only going to get greedier. Sorry, but I don't fall into that category. It may be the way you live, but not me. Those who live for the almighty buck are inevitably disappointed. As far as the world getting greedier, I don't think so. It's not getting any more or less greedy. It is the same. The only difference is that instant, worldwide communication only makes it more evident. I was taught a different code of ethics by my parents, thank goodness. I am in your corner FR. Your mind set originates from the generations of Americans that built the fabric of this country. I believe that it may now be the minority which is frankly sad. I do enjoy watching - But it's a GAME. If it goes - oh well, it's a game. A-Jay
