  1. I fish it both on spinning gear & casting gear. Both Medium sticks. So pick your poison. Pretty much my standard jerkbait gear. The secret sauce for me with this bait is the speed at which it's fished and where. (I know, not big news but hear me out) Seems best when I fish it super slow, with long pauses, which allows it to really accentuate that little shimmy/roll at rest. Early/late season cooler water time. Alternatively, I'll go pretty fast with like a nano-second of a pause. This requires quite a bit of angler effort but can be the deal. The other thing is I can fish it in super skinny water a LONG way from my rig, without having it gum up with spooge 3 feet into the cast. Over the tops of 2 feet of open water over dense weeds at low light is a tricky deal too. I do Like Mono vs FC for the shallowest water. A mono leader on spinning gear is good - make it long, like 20 feet long. Change the hooks and ditch the feathered tail treble, slows the bait unnecessarily. I talk smack about this bait all the time but I don't recall ever getting anything on video. (but you might notice I don't sell them). Might need to fix that. Good Luck A-Jay
  2. It happens at some point just about every spring. Some years it's earlier than others. Can't really say what causes the timing exactly but I know when it happens. This wackier than normal warm winter might have something to do with it. Either way ~ I am so tired of reading & writing about bass fishing ! Just need get out on the water already . . . . . Man ! 55 Days to go. Hope I make it . . . . . . A-Jay
  3. Legs 2 this morning. This one always gets my attention. Also, I'm not going to lie, I really like being able to do this stuff at my age. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  4. I have no problem Doubling Down on this frame of mind. In fact, I might even get this tattooed to my forehead. As for 'being good at that stuff' - IMO, that's where the work comes in. Doesn't just happen. Peace out. A-Jay
  5. @AlabamaSpothunter THANK YOU very much for the detailed response. I really appreciate it. I am also a huge fan of that Keitech Super Round Tungsten Jighead - Been using it for several different applications for a while. Enjoy the sun. A-Jay
  6. The effects of emersion are different for everyone and there are some factors not listed here that come into play. However there has to be a base line. So when the 'professionals' are en route to rescue you or are planning possible body recovery efforts, this is what they expect to find. Stay Safe. A-Jay

The many seasons of northern Michigan. The Spring of Deception started on Monday, but it really cranks today and Friday (2/8-2/9/24). We'll be Enjoying record warmth! A-Jay
  8. A bonanza of Big Bass in the sunshine - hard to beat. Nicely Done & Congrats @AlabamaSpothunter btw - what jighead are you fishing that Jackall Drift Fry on? If you don't mind sharing. Thanks in Advance A-Jay
  9. Besides getting bites for me, it's one of the very few baits (whole schools of) Brown Bass will follow all the way to the boat. Great fish locator. #mossbackshiner A-Jay
  10. I did really like the Exhaust and CIA on the 2021 AT4 quite a bit. Wish they were able to leave it as is on the 2024. No intentions of going for an after market CAI unit as the install is a PIA - From what I can learn on line, need to dis-assemble half the front of the motor to install it. Sure seems like the older unit breathed better than this latest unit. A-Jay
  11. I use this for backing. As for low memory ~ I sort of forgot where I put it. Not sure that counts though. A-Jay
  12. Some supplemental Swinghead info - I catch a lot of smallies doing this. The two baits (heads) that address and satisfy my desires/needs are the RPE Tackle Tungsten Swinging Football Jig (No Hook) and the Freedom Tackle Stealth Swim Jig. The RPE rig is obviously Tungsten, come without a hook, can be purchased in bulk, and possesses a unique and very secure hook hanging system. I use the ½ & ¾ oz only here and do add an Owner Oval Split ring to the front line tie. Big Fan. The Freedom Tackle product is offered & sold as a complete bait. And while I do retain the hook & quality skirt that comes with the bait to use in different applications, for my swinghead fishing applications, I am just using the head. And what a killer head it is ! Available in different weights, the ½ & ¾ oz are lead and the ¼ oz offering is plastic – all have a very stout hook hanger. Haven’t had one fail yet. This head design fishes much different than the football head. It’s much more of a swimming, almost gliding action across & along the bottom; rather than bouncing & digging into it like the tungsten head will do. Superior for shallower & light weed areas. HUGE Fan of this one ! Trailers are either a SK Rage Bug or a Reins Punching Predator. I’ll add some color to them too. https://youtu.be/S4N47mqfUSA?feature=shared&t=298 https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/211811-brown-bass-tools-~-questions-answers/?do=findComment&comment=2467689 Good Luck A-Jay
  13. Those subwalk baits are just awful. They have been know to cause herpatoesis in California. I have been (self) designated as the National Subwalk disposal center. Please send any units directly to me Thank you in advance. 🤪 A-Jay

You Can't Handle the Truth ( Modified) Son we live in a world that has Bass, and those Bass must be fished for. Who's gonna do it? You, LT Panfish ? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for the death of the zebra mussel, and you curse the Bassmaster. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that being covered in Megastrike, though tragic, catches bass; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you Trout Bums, catches bass. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at the Fly Shop, you want me in that Pro-V Bass -- you need me in that Pro-V Bass ! We use words like Points, Cuts and Flats - We use these words as a backbone of a life spent Catching Bass. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who hides behind the boat ramp and ridicules me for flipping the slop. I would rather that you just said "Thank You" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you spool up some braid, load up a long rod and put a frog in the pads. Either way, I don't give a d**n what you think you're entitled to ! Did you order the Red Eye Shad ? Did you order the Red Eye Shad ? You bet you're Arse I did ! I was doing my job and I'd do it again ! I'm going back to my Lund ! All in fun of course A-Jay

I use Megastrike original and have been for a long time. On everything. Certain every fish posted on this forum ate something that was most if not completely slathered up in Megastrike. btw - when it's hot out, store it in the cooler. You can thank me later. 22. Pull 2 this morning. Did some grinding in this one. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  23. The SW is a Megabass Salt Water application designation. Sure it works in Sweet water too. The Megabass Vision OneTen SW is a narrow profiled, 110.5mm, 14.1gram (1/2oz) jerk bait minnow fishing lure that will dive no more than 1 meter with its short square bib. The lure comes equipped with a dual tungsten moving balancer system that truly gives this lure excellent casting distance. What makes the OneTen SW particularly deadly is it’s darting action and ability to come to a stand still as it slowly floats to the surface, which more often than not, is the moment when a strike arises. The base of this jerk bait is angulated with hard chines, which causes the lure to roll sharply from side to side to accentuate reflective flicker off the flanks of the lure. The Vision OneTen SW is devoid of internal rattlers making this jerk bait an attractive option when fishing in high pressured areas where target fish are easily spooked by noise and commotion. The lure comes with three permasteel saltwater #6 treble hooks. The front and rear trebles have inward facing barbs whilst the middle treble is outward facing. For its size and weight, the Vision OneTen SW is ideally suited for shore base fishing and around piers and over reef flats. A-Jay
  24. The happiness with this rig continues as I slowly become more and more acquainted with it's 'features.' This 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 has a few updates and changes for the new model year. One of these is the addition of an Active Exhaust system equipped with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine; rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This new feature will allow drivers to select a driving mode that opens the flaps within the exhaust system, thereby delivering a throatier exhaust note from their L87 engine. While the truck is in Normal mode, or Tow/Haul mode, the exhaust flaps will remain closed, resulting in a muted exhaust tone. However, upon selection of the Sport mode, the flaps will open, allowing the L87 Small Block to produce a throatier exhaust aka the V8 rumble. Pretty Cool. Still haven't been able to wash the darn thing yet - and it's really bad. A-Jay
  25. Good Timing Dave ~ I'm selling a sweet skipp'in stick in the Flea Market right now. A-Jay
