Just happen to click a pic of the spinning reels today prior to giving them some TLC. Some are a little older than others but I like them all and fish them pretty hard. Not a fan of double handles on spinners however. A-Jay

We're getting typically hammered with lake effect - been coming down since 10 am. I've already got plans to blast away whatever's there in the morning to make room for the load that's coming. Any 1/2 oz plus single hook moving bait. It's no secret that I like a Mod fast stick. So where a lot of bassheads might prefer a MH or H fast graphite blank. I prefer this deal. Including bottom contact baits. A-Jay

I took a flyer on a couple of these sticks late last season. It's a TW branded number. I will keep this very btief and simple. I FREAKING LOVE THIS ROD. Matched with the Elite reel, I want to fish it all day. Sensative, parabolic with decent components. Love the full cork. IMO. for the $$$ it's the ultimate sleeper. Bottom line, and why I like it so much, it fishes like the sticks of years past. Actually loads on the cast, loads on the hookset and puts big fish in the net. With authority. Baits where that is benefical seem ideal. A-Jay

I don't fish the reg 110 jr. So I have no real world experience to pass on. Also my experience with the MB 110 +2 has been less than ideal. Baits casts and runs like I expected, plenty deep too. But I have not been able to get bites on them. Whatever the magic sauce is, I can't seem to tap into it. Accordingly I'll be selling them here in a month or so. Along with a fairly decent load of various other baits. A-Jay

Not sure a unit with 100K of who knows what kind of miles, that needs repairs can be considered a quality control issue. Irregardless, the 2024 GMC Sierra AT4 I am currently driving is anything but a nightmare. Awesome is considerably more appropiate. A-Jay

I have purchased a couple rods from Amazon a while back and that went OK. Interestingly enough, I have received I think 3 Shimano castings reels from TW that arrived not in a "factory sealed box". I've bought enough reels to know the difference. Meaning they were either demo's or returned items. Either way, not what I paid for so they were all returned. And I did get "New & Sealed' replacement reels without a problem. Buyer beware. A-Jay

Big fan of that 110 Jr +1 - gets big bites for me on brown bass. Running depth can be a variable that is determined by a few factors. I'd say that right out of the box, stock baits on the rigs mentioned above, would see something like 7 ft on a long cast with FC mainline or leader. And a little less with mono. The 'Boston Patriots' were REALLY bad while I was growing up in Boston. Sort of like now. The 20 or so year run of winning all the time was a nice break. But now were back to what I'm used to. My son's pretty bummed out about it though. They've been winning just about his whole life. #backtoreality A-Jay

Thanks ~ I am a total Amazon user and abuser for all kinds of items. The lower $$ usually seems attached to reels with the handle on the wrong side (left). I don't go that way, not that there's anything wrong with that. Either way I'm looking to replace several somewhat aging reels in my collection. When the time comes, the Elite might be it. I'll know for sure after one full season of use. I get a military discount from TW, so I use it. A-Jay

Few years ago I hooked what ended up being a new PB Musky while SMB fishing. Fish grabbed a jerkbait and then proceeded to put me and my woefully undersized gear through it's paces. After what seemed like forever for both of us, I got the beast alongside the boat. And as I made an ill advised attempt to 'net' the fish, my 10 lb FC finally failed. So I was no longer connected to what will not doubt for me be the fish of a life time. But she was really tired and rather than swimming off right away, there was just the briefest of seconds where she just sat motionless in front of me. In a last ditch effort, I managed to get enough of this fish into my net and drop her into the boat. Needless to say, I was pretty pumped. After a quick length measurement she was back in the lake and swam off strong. So that's my broken line net job story . . . This is what the final few minutes of that fairly hectic scene looked like . . . A-Jay

I am not an A-Rig expert, but I fish them Like any somewhat different presentation, there's a bit of a learning curve. And with this deal there's a good bit IMO. The tackle for sure being one of them. The size and numer of jigheads and baits, as well as the type and size line used can help determine what rod would perform well. The more the A-Rig weighs the more rod I'd use. A lighter rig benefits from a lighter blank. Either way, rods at or even over 7'6" seem good. A rod rated for 4 o z is not what I'd select unless the rig was that heavy. For reference, I fish 5 baits, all with 1/8 oz heads. Total rig ends up something a bit over an ounce when you add in the plastics. A musky rod in this situation would seem to me like panfishing with a flipping stick. A-Jay
