Love New Truck Day ~
48.5K and it's all yours, just be there when I turn it in. Mileage is low this time. Might even be a personal best at turn in time. But don't be fooled by the shiny 'new' looking exterior and virtually mint & appears untouched interior. Because the 3 years of outrageous oxidation & decay from the road salt on the entire under carriage is dirty little secret no one talks about. (And the driving force for all these deals for me) The dealer always reminds me that he has several customers that BUY them and then trade then in with less than 5K. So I'm not even in the running for the 'lowest mileage guy award'. Which as I understand it, actually means nothing. However, I am getting a couple K over residual, which is very helpful. A-Jay

Love New Truck Day ~
No way to know from this end. I can only go by what they tell me. At least I'm on the docket. They've got 4 and half months to make it happen. I'm betting they'll use most all of it. A-Jay With something @18k for milage. And maybe a little dog hair. A-Jay

How would you rate yourself ????
Here we go on a seasonably cool Wednesday morning . . . . 18 years, 2 months, 21 days including today. I'd say the bass do a great job at telling me exactly what my 'rating' actually is. My version of it is that I have some 'experience'. Some trips it helps. Some trips, not so much. Fish Hard A-Jay

Online Water Depth Maps ~
Map 'study' especially on bigger water is a thing for me. Not only saves a serious amount of time but can be 'helpful' in a couple of other different ways. Prefer sites that are easy to navigate (OG) are fairly up to date and just as important, accurate. Been using this one for a while now and it hasn't done me wrong yet. Click the link below, zoom to a desired location, open the 'details' box for that body of water and you are good to go. https://usa.fishermap.org/depth-map/ Fish Hard A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
Having a healthy & strong Posterior Chain is a big deal. My training has forever offered plenty of work that targets this often neglected objective. Posterior refers to the group of muscles on the backside of the body. So the entire back, glutes, hamstrings, calves. The posterior chain is important because these muscle groups contain much of the body’s power, working to propel the body while helping balance and posture. The posterior chain has half of the body’s muscle mass, so strengthening these muscle groups is necessary for agility, better lower body strength, and stabilizing the spine, hips, and knees. Mine is a work in progress; and a little sore this morning. But in the right way. A-Jay

St.Croix Mojo Bass?
If it's the MJC71MHF, I think those were advertised a being the SCIII graphite blank. (same as the new ones, although 'the engineering' might be different now) Some even older Mojo sticks might have been SCII. Not 100 % on that though. Either way, Congrats on the new rod. A-Jay

Pull 1 this morning. Completed 3 working sets of 8 reps each. Showing the last two sets here. At 64 years old, reps in reserve is a way of life. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

Technique you used to hate but now grown to love
There is no technique that I used to hate but now have grown to love. There's a reason it fell out out favor, and once it's out, it's out. There's no 'going back' for me. A-Jay

BROWN BASS TOOLS ~ Questions & Answers
@tunaman Thank you very much for the support and the kind words. Super glad to hear some of this has been helpful. The 'learning' never ends (if we're lucky) and I get schooled all the time. I appreciate every one. A-Jay

Get in here - Bassmaster Opens
Couldn't possibly disagree more. Being on plane, on ANY body of water, IN THE DARK is an accident waiting to happen. Especially in unfamiliar water. Akin to turning the headlights off on your truck at highway speed. Why ? The act itself was part of my job description for at least 10 years before Mr MILLIKEN was born. Often times a matter of life and death, still unsafe. I Never do it now. Safe operation is solely the responsibility of the vessel operator. Always will be. Criminal & Civil Liability is attached every time any boat leaves the dock. Just like a vehicle. A-Jay

Hated sounds of fishing
First one's on me. The second one is not. btw, leaf blowers, chain saws & gun fire can all be part of any fishing trip I make. Think we had the trifecta on this one . . . . . https://youtu.be/S_Owp6ZVN0U?feature=shared&t=1122 A-Jay

Fishing during insect hatches
I'm a good 1500 miles north of you I think, but local fishing during the big fly (mayfly) hatch can be tough sledding; especially for brown bass. Many conventional approaches fail miserably. I finally caved and went straight up fly rod guy. Mostly just for redemption. It was a good move. Sunset has been the best for me. A-Jay

6 cylinder tow vehicle
Good Luck ~ I'd be looking for a long steep incline/decline (insert Big Freaking Hill) Evaluate going Up & coming down which is good part of my drive with the boat trailer going just about anywhere here. btw - I'm a 6.2L guy. A-Jay

Your favorite fishing sounds
Love most all of the "natural sounds" associated with my fishing including the assortment of birds, the howl of 'the wind' and my paddle coming in & out of the water as the Old Town canoe glides across some little body of water that seems like it's in the middle of no where. Perhaps topping the list is actually No Sound. It's the intense pregnant pause while waiting the few seconds for my fish scale to tell me what my eyes already know. https://youtu.be/o9xew3tWuuU?feature=shared&t=1124 Fish Hard A-Jay btw, honorable mention could go to ProXS. https://youtu.be/T7LO6RQA7yY?feature=shared
