  1. Total Body Day 3 this morning. Still getting used to starting this one with Leg Curls. I wanted to get the hamstrings some work while I was fresh and that will do it. Completed 3 working sets of the 5 scheduled movements. Showing the last 2 sets of each here. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  2. It's not 'heated' but it's an 'attached garage. So it never really gets below 35 degrees. I have thermometer out there as well as several bottles of water. Which have never frozen. But hey, don't jinx it ! 😎 A-Jay
  3. I'm not an outboard mechanic so I let the guys who are utilize their expertise. While they have it each fall I also have them tighten / re-torque all my motor mount and Jack Plate hardware IAW specs. Some of of them I can't get to. Impellers get changed, every other year, bilge & live well pumps. As well as an assortment of whatever I can think of for that year. Peace of mind is good. A-Jay
  4. Can be such a good and perhaps even bad, time to be on the water. There's often a decant up tick in bass feeding right before a front passes. So the allure to be out there can be pretty strong. It is for me. The flip side to it is, it can also be fairly dangerous. When I'm going to be out there in this kind of stuff, I make it a point to 'watch' the weather, especially what's 'approaching'. Best bet is to leave before I 'need to'. I didn't do that here. Other than Not beating the rain to ramp, and getting soaked, it worked out. But I can admit I should have left sooner or not gone at all. So just a little heads up. A-Jay
  5. If it's 'under a Mercury Warranty', I'd have an authorized Mercury Service Center service it IAW the 'manual'. And I'd continue that until the warranty runs out. If not under any warranty, all bets are off. Anything that is done or happens as a result of whatever you decided to do (or not do) on your own, it's coming out of your pocket either way. Good Luck. 6. While this thread may not really be applicable to me personally, I do occasionally participate in one of two kinds of winter fishing. One of them is pretty good, but hardly local. The other, not so much . . . . . A-Jay
  7. It's OK to be scared ~ A-Jay
  8. I can applaud your fortitude and willingness to endure the elements. I'm just really tired of fishing is crap day after day. Then looking at the forecast and see more and more crap weather. 16 Oct is our annual average first measurable snow date, So for all intensive purposes, this show is already over. Stay Safe. A-Jay Cool ~ Something to remember when fishing it. Less is more in cold water. 😎 A-Jay
  9. It's my 'cold water' trailer of choice. I usually use it on a hair jig which lead me in this direction this morning. Got all this from watching Paul Meuller 10 years ago. https://youtu.be/OrgTuVEcDxw?feature=shared A-Jay
  10. It's coming but we need Ice in before I can predict the Ice out. So we'll have to wait a bit and see how that goes. A-Jay
  11. Congrats ~ From my view in the cheap seats. You had a most excellent season. A-Jay
  12. I've been playing Duck & Cover with front after front here for what seems like 3 weeks now. It's been tough to get on the water without crazy winds, Cold air temps & or soaking rain. Looked like there was a pretty small 'window' of fishable stuff this morning. Knew it'd be cold (early morning air temps in the high 20's) but there was some sun and a south wind. All of which was only going to last and hour or two. So, I rigged up and hoped for the best. Got bit pretty much right away, which turned out to be a good thing. As the rain moved in quite a bit earlier than anticipated. A half ounce swinghead with a Reins Punching Predator Creature bait (green Pumpkin) trailer did the deed. I am glad I went, glad I got a decent brown bass and I'm glad I left when I did. Managed to garage the boat just as the rain got going. Pro-V Bass will be winterize and put up for hibernation in the coming days. Stay Safe and Fish Hard A-Jay
  13. Thanks ~ No icebergs yet, just completely miserable fishing weather. I must be getting old & weak. A-Jay
  14. As much as Love to say "OH Yea", that's just not in the cards. At least for now. A-Jay
  15. Looks like I'm ending it right here ~ Last Brown Bass of 2023. A-Jay
  16. I was coming here to post this same video ~ A-Jay
  17. Total Body Day 2 this morning. Completed 3 working set as scheduled. Showing the last one here. I slowed it down as a way to check my form. Seems decent. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  18. In my world, a Spinning rod is in my right hand and I reel with my left. Casting rods held in my left hand and I reel with my right hand. I cast two-handed so transferring the gear hand to hand is routine and 'just happens'. Don't have to think about it. Tried to do the old switcheroo with casting gear and it didn't work out. Never even considered it with spinning gear. I am right hand dominant, but feel pretty confident with the rod in either hand when the pressure is on. Finally regardless of which gear I'm hooked up with, once a fish gets 'close to the boat', the rod always ends up in the right arm while I net the beast with my left. No middle ground on that one. 19. I have quite a bit of success on stout brown bass with a SK blade minnow on my spinnerbaits Riding on my Jackhammers is either the Zako or a hand poured Goby swimbait. A-Jay
  20. Total Body Day 1 again today. Second time through this and I added a third working set to each of the 5 scheduled movements. Showing all of them here. Hoping to offer a realistic sense of the Old Guy home gym experience. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  21. Nice report and Pretty Bass ~ Congrats Good Luck with the Calculus class A-Jay
  22. If I give you my number, would be kind enough to call here and tell my wife ? 😎 A-Jay
  23. Agreed ~ Also my desire to have an accurate 'sonar' reading at anything over clutch speed, is ZERO. For me the whole concept is like cutting a hole in the floor of my truck and peering through it to see the pavement as I cruise down the road at 40 mph. Whatever I 'see' on the sonar unit is 300 feet behind me in just over 5 seconds. When is that helpful ? Are we dropping waypoints on plane ? I don't get it. YMMV A-Jay
  24. No doubt it's a bit of a hike ~ But if it were going to be a One Way Trip, I'd probably consider it. A-Jay
  25. Not an expert by any means however the areas of Mexico I've visited, the western edge of the beautiful Sierra Madre Mountains, has quite a bit of forest land. Either way, while the scenery is especially spectacular, so is the big bass fishing. #likeapostcard A-Jay
