  1. I did see that as well. While JJ is a machine with that thing, I don't have Live scope (but do have 360 imaging). Either way, when we're doing it right, the bass hopefully doesn't know we're there. Whether we see her in advance of the cast or not and what type of electronics is on board might not be the determining factor as to whether she chooses to strikes a bait or not. However the baits depth, speed & profile probably are. And confidence in what we're doing can not be underestimated. Finally thanks for the trailer tips, I may check that one out. In the meantime, my chatterbait game remains a work in progress A-Jay
  2. My best Brown Bass of 2021 came on a Vibrating Jig ~ A-Jay
  3. By catch up this way has included Walleye, Northern Pike & Fat Brown Trout. But, I do love telling this story . . . . While fishing a deep point with a jerkbait for smallies, I hooked what I thought was a U-Boat. Hoping the 10lb InvisX would hold her, it was all I could do to keep from pooping my pants. Net job was quite an adventure but in the end, I got to hold & measure this Beautiful Full Framed Beast. 48 inches of stunning Michigan Musky. I was so pumped !!! https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/215910-new-pb-musky-~-video-added/ A-Jay

  5. Call spectrum and Ask for the NFL network - you'll get 'the sports package' for $5 bucks more a month and it includes the outdoor network. Ask me how I know. #justdidit A-Jay
  6. I'm going with @TOXIC on this one. Not enough there (yet) to justify any further action. Being an "exemplary employee" is something to strive for and is often the best course of action. I been on both sides of this deal. Admittedly I didn't handle the first few opportunities very well. Felt good & 'right' at the time, but looking back it's was clearly as sign of inexperience on my part. And I ended up 'getting the worst of it'; probably deserved it too. But I learned. Time is the ultimate teacher. Good Luck A-Jay
  7. The Last Workout of 2021 and Training Session # 179 ~ Pretty close to every other day all year - always a goal for me. Had that on my mind during each of these working sets. #borninfiftynine #fitforlife A-Jay
  8. Congrats It's probably just a matter of time Good Luck ! A-Jay
  9. Feeling nostalgic or just old ? A-Jay
  10. Thanks & That's a great percentage. I wish I could catch anything 70% of the time. Perhaps enter a few tournaments. You could win. A-Jay
  11. Anchoring effectively takes some practice and is sort of a lost art. But it's just about a must in your case. Don't give up on it. Having enough anchor line is important. I've even used two anchors at times, totally locks me down on a spot. Bit of a PIA, but the payoff can be quite awesome. The more you do it, the better you'll get at it. Being able to position your rig right where you need to, is an assortment of weather conditions in order to fish a variety of presentations is AT Least half the battle. Fishing from a constantly moving rig all the time IMO, Greatly reduces one's fish catching potential. Good Luck Here's a Swimbait brown bass from the canoe right after I anchored. https://youtu.be/02fPoZHOri8?t=1151 A-Jay
  12. Fished from a canoe for 10 years - I can feel your pain from here. Your gear seems decent but Right off the bat, before you invest in new gear try these two things first. Use 10-12 lb FC and ANCHOR your rig. I'd also recommend using a bigger deeper diving plug. Something that is rated to dive MUCH deeper than the depth you're targeting. Baits in these categories tend to STAY down where we want them. They are usually heavier and will cast better for you. MY alternate baits for deep cranking are Swingheads, Swimbait on a jighead & a lippless fished like a jig. Of course a jig & craw might always be a viable deep water option, especially if you've located fish that are snuggled up to hard cover. btw - make sure those stock treble hooks are always sticky sharp. 13. JP sounds like quite the accomplished Basshead. While his equipment may be considered simple, especially by today's standards, That approach might not be so different really. Fishing shallow shoreline cover, targeting bass with something that appears like a wounded food source, being somewhat stealthy, and seeking areas or spots where bass are relating to something different, aren't we all doing that at some point ? I know I am. Even have a push pole A-Jay
  14. Seems C.R.S. may be setting in. You have my condolences and it only gets worse from here. Not only am I a card carrying member of that club, there's a decent chance I could be the Vice President or at the very least sitting on the Board of Directors. But I just don't remember. Best of Luck finding your gear A-Jay
  15. Simple answer; more than without it. A-Jay
  16. Just went & looked. Found a pic of the exact spool I'm running off now . . . A-Jay
  17. I do not fish from the bank. But I do fish both 7' M & ML spinners as well as 7'6" ML regularly. If casting room side to side and or overhead is restricted at all, the shorter rod would get the nod for me - everytime. My 7 ' ML stick is for light drop shots, small Jerkbaits, hair jigs and ned rigs. The Daiwa Tatula Elite AGS Spin Rod 7'6" ML stick delivers hair jigs & ned rigs, almost exclusively. It has a little more back bone than I thought it would. Here it is in action: https://youtu.be/3OXnPQs0bqQ?t=61 Good Luck with your decision A-Jay
  18. Yes Big Fan in fact Here's a little more info A-Jay

  23. Keep that mess over there. Please. A-Jay
  24. Looking back at this one and the previous year, hard to know what to expect from 2022. Sure to be another wild ride though. Either, way we'll be ready for whatever. As for the night itself, we'll be hunkered down as usual. New Years Eve on the road - we used to call it Amateur Night. Not playing. When there's a big moon and it's not totally fridge, we'll take the big dogs for a late night walk through the woods - pretty cool with the snow & all. New moon this time means deer everywhere. Don't feel like dealing with that scene, so we'll be just chilling by the wood stove. Stay Safe A-Jay
  25. So is that like eating the chicken bones & drinking bacon fat then ? A-Jay
