  2. I've actually said that ~ Just once though. https://youtu.be/zIqCmH_52IQ?t=2096 A-Jay
  3. Congrats Sir ! Couple of real Beauties right there. A-Jay
  4. "My outboard has far Too Much Horse Power" "My rig gets on plane way too fast " "My trolling motor batteries last way too long" "The Bait Monkey has died" A-Jay
  5. It is. Figure at Least 2 or 3 things a week, for something like 700 weeks. That can add up pretty fast. And you my friend, have been a routine contributor. So Thank You Sir ! A-Jay
  6. A Glide Bait ~ Going on a couple of seasons now. I just don't get it. A-Jay
  7. My personal list of "things I've learned on Bass Resource" is infinitely lengthy. This forum members fishing / boating knowledge & experience base is impressive to say the least. And aside from all that, how about the "Just Life" subjects; too many to list. Pretty hard for me to pin even 5 down as 'the most important', let alone one. Perhaps the most important thing for me, was to just join and keep an open mind. The rest of it takes care of itself. #sogood Something I will forever be grateful for is growing up, I always dreamt of catching a 10 pound bass. BR enabled me to hook up with like a minded basshead to make that dream a reality. A-Jay
  8. Good Luck Sir ~ I tried that last season Let's just say boat towing 75 miles through several inched of snow is no picnic. A-Jay
  9. The Boat Monkey (the evil blood brother of the Bait Monkey) must have broken into my Local Lund dealership a few nights ago. While the boat was being winterized he replaced my trolling motor batteries with new ones. Actually sort of nice of him, just wished he had covered the cost before he left. A-Jay
  10. Every rig I keep in my boat is IMO, "a workhorse". Rods & Reels. Units that do not display the above characteristics, don't make the cut. My fishing season is too short to waste time on sub-standard performance. And the reels I take south of the border simply must perform. A-Jay
  11. Last Sunday & Monday (Nov 7 & 8 ) Northern Michigan was treated to a couple of fairly nice weather days (insert fisherman friendly). With the Pro-V Bass already up for the hard water season, I decided to slip the Old Town Canoe out onto local Lake Minichuck to chase the Brown Bass around. Water temps were in the mid 40’s and I found some Smallies set up on deeper brush & wood in 15 – 20 feet near points and one magic little mid-lake hump. Spunky brown bass came on a variety of presentations including a blade bait, jerkbait and a little swimbait. It was a most decent time with a reasonable mixture of Sun & Fun; even got to use the net and scale a couple of times. Pretty good bet this will be the last open water fishing I do until 2022. While that’s always a little depressing and does seem like a long way off; it’ll be here before I know it. Stay Safe A-Jay

    Sweet Bass ~ Congrats A-Jay
  13. Thanks ~ There's a "report" coming (tomorrow) from this one that will include some video. A-Jay
  14. I split the difference. Two fingers in front of the reel stem & two in back. Never really thought about it, just always did it that way. From today . . . . A-Jay
  15. Ended the 2021 season today with this little Fatty ~ Stay Safe A-Jay
  16. Made it happen in the Old Town Canoe today ~ Blade bait, jerkbait & a swimbait were all killer. Love November Bronze in the SUN ! Fish Hard A-Jay
  17. Perhaps think about opening up your fishing horizons a bit. In other words why limit yourself ? Get the bigger/more HP rig now. You'll thank me later. The difference in price between the two rigs now, is quite a bit less than a whole new rig later. "I wish I would have purchased the smaller less powerful boat" Said no one ever. A-Jay
  18. Sweet Rig ~ And it's got your name written all over it ! Go for it Dude A-Jay
  19. The seasonal movement for the majority of smallies is most likely to vacate the shallower creeks and winter out in the deeper river. Might be some of that going on. A-Jay
  20. Blade Bait Lipless Rattle bait (fished like a blade bait) Hair Jig and a Small heavy headed swimbait gets honorable mention. A-Jay
  21. OK ~ Tie some up and fish them. And when they score a few of these, I'll gladly pay you the $10. A-Jay
  22. Hello and welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay

  24. I picked up a couple of the Elite Tech Smallmouth Spinners, almost 10 years ago now. Love, Love - Love these sticks. Been discontinued for a while so I've been babying them a little. Even re-wrapped / upgraded the guides one time along the way. Still see a lot of jerkbait action and have accounted for some great fish & memories for me. Very happy with them. A-Jay
